Arrive. Explore. Relax. I’ve got the rest covered.
What makes Bear Paw Lodge special? Guests consistently say they’ve never stayed in a vacation home so thoughtfully prepared—and that it “felt like home” the moment they walked in.
From the well-stocked kitchen and bathrooms to adventure-ready essentials like bear spray, family-friendly extras, a personalized local digital guide, exceptional cleanliness, and thoughtful touches throughout, Bear Paw Lodge is more than a place to stay—it’s a cozy mountain retreat where the details have already been taken care of, so you can focus on making unforgettable memories.
Nestled among towering pines and just 30-35 minutes from Yellowstone’s West Entrance, Bear Paw Lodge is a warm and welcoming mountain cabin where rustic charm meets modern comfort. Spend your days exploring Yellowstone, hiking, fishing, or riding nearby ATV trails, then return to a cozy cabin designed for relaxing, reconnecting, and making memories. Whether you’re gathered around the fireplace, roasting s’mores beneath the stars, enjoying morning coffee on the covered porch, or challenging the kids to classic arcade games in the Cub House, you’ll quickly discover why so many guests wish they had booked a longer stay.
Sleep 6…all in beds! No pullout sofas or makeshift sleeping arrangements. The main-floor king suite offers privacy and comfort, while the spacious loft with two queen beds gives kids and adults alike plenty of room to spread out. (Loft is accessed by stairs, not a ladder.) With 2½ bathrooms, air conditioning, premium bedding, room-darkening curtains, and thoughtful conveniences throughout, everyone can relax after a full day of adventure.
Arrive to the freshness of crisp mountain air, and enjoy the privacy and shade provided by the towering pines and aspen trees heavily scattered around this ideal woodland retreat. This charming, fully remodeled, 1,200-square-foot, cabin greets you with a log exterior and generous covered front and back porches. The front door leads you into an open living space with 2-story vaulted ceilings and exposed wood beams over a kitchen, dining area, and family room.
The kitchen is stocked more like a real home than a typical vacation rental. You’ll find coffee, tea, creamers, hot chocolate, spices, cooking oils, common condiments, quality cookware, baking supplies, storage containers for on-the-go lunches, and all the little things guests often forget or simply can’t bring with them. Whether you’re preparing breakfast before Yellowstone or dinner after a day of exploring, everything you need is already waiting.
Don't forget to freeze some ice packs to throw into a cooler for tomorrow's adventures. We provide both on-site, as a convenience...along with loaner bear spray, portable camp chairs, fishing gear, first aid, and little extras, in case you forget something.
Relax in the cozy family room, centered around a propane fireplace and Smart TV - a perfect spot to unwind and relax after a day of exploring and adventure. Take in forest views from the large picture window, and enjoy the new AC during hot summer months.
Enjoy the convenience of 2-full and 1-half baths--plenty of space for everyone to clean up after a day of exploring. Find a closet full of premium bath sheet-size towels, hand towels and make-up washcloths, along with body wash, shampoo and conditioner.
Play in The Cub House, an on-property entertainment space, just steps away from the cabin--a great place to unwind or to send the kids so you can get some much-needed quiet and relaxation. Enjoy a professional arcade cocktail machine with 412 classic games, Smart TV, games, etc.
Immerse yourself in nature with the outdoor spaces and amenities available for your use, including covered front and back decks with seating. Enjoy a peaceful morning cup of coffee (provided), chat with friends and family, or prepare meals on the propane grill. You may encounter a visit from the squirrels, fox, song birds, moose, elk and deer that call our neighborhood home. Occasional mountain rainstorms are common, and grilling meals under cover is a plus. Enjoy meals out doors at the picnic table, which is shaded in the evening, and a perfect spot for dinner outside.
Create memories as you warm up on a cool mountain night around the fire pit out back. Roast marshmallows or cook dinner over the open flame (you can find marshmallow roasting/hotdog sticks in the kitchen, a S'more station, and FREE firewood on site). Oversize, comfortable stacking chairs (with cup holders and lumbar support) are available for your use around the fire pit.
Have questions, or want local trip planning advice? Access an extremely thorough welcome book (available in over 100 languages), which I share with you digitally. The guide includes everything Island Park and the surrounding area (including Yellowstone) have to offer: food; adventure and local must-sees; hiking; ATV riding, rentals and trails (Bear Paw Lodge is close to amazing ATV trails); fishing access points; national park maps, information and links; even tips on where to find and see moose! The guide includes an area map which you can filter (show only restaurants, or hiking trails, or area must-sees, etc.) Everything can be quickly and easily accessed once the app is downloaded to your phone, even if you don't have cell service. I'm also always available to help in any way I can.
We believe vacations should feel effortless. Instead of wondering whether you’ll find enough towels, spices, coffee filters, charging outlets, coolers, or the little things that make travel easier, you’ll simply find them waiting for you. Bear Paw Lodge is designed to make your vacation as comfortable, convenient, and memorable as possible.
