Step onto the terrace at La Marina and the view does the talking: palm trees, sparkling water and boats drifting past below. This bright 2-bedroom apartment sits on the second floor of Spanish Water View Apartments in Brakkeput Abou, a complex with its own private white-sand beach and a large infinity pool at the water's edge. Mornings start with coffee on the terrace, afternoons drift between the pool and the palapas, and evenings end with the water glowing below.

Downstairs, the complex has its own private white-sand beach, shaded by thatched palapas and lined with loungers, where you can step straight from the sand into the calm bay. Just behind it, a large infinity pool stretches toward the water's edge, with plenty of room to swim, float or settle in for the afternoon. Jan Thiel's beaches and restaurants are minutes away and Willemstad is about 15, but with a beach and pool like these, you may not feel the need to leave.

THE SPACE
The living area is open and airy, with high pitched ceilings and a full wall of sliding doors. Open them all the way and the living room and terrace become one space, with the sea breeze running straight through.

The kitchen sits along one wall of the open-plan room, with a round marble-topped dining table seating four. A comfortable sofa looks out toward the terrace and the water beyond. A washer and dryer are tucked away in their own laundry closet.

Both bedrooms have king beds, air conditioning and their own bathroom. That makes the apartment an easy fit for a couple, a small family or two friends travelling together.

Each bed has four pillows and a duvet. Bath and beach towels are provided, along with shampoo, body soap and hand soap.

OUTDOOR LIVING
The terrace is where the day happens. It's covered, cooled by a ceiling fan and the trade winds, and looks straight out over the palms to the beach, the pool and the boats on Spanish Water. Have breakfast at the table, read on the lounge sofa in the afternoon and finish with dinner as the light fades over the water.

Downstairs, the complex's grounds are something special. A wide infinity pool sits right at the water's edge, with palapas and loungers spread along a private white-sand beach. A smaller plunge pool beside the building offers a quieter place to cool off.

NOTABLE DETAILS: ENERGY TRANSPARENCY
Electricity at La Marina is charged separately and is not included in the nightly rate. Usage is metered at the start and end of your stay, billed at $0.50 per kWh and settled after checkout. Most guests spend around $10 - $15 per night. Curaçao's trade winds and the terrace ceiling fan keep the apartment comfortable during the day. Most guests find they only need air conditioning at night, with doors and windows closed, which keeps costs very manageable. We share this upfront because we'd rather you know before you book.

- A $500 security deposit (where applicable) is held on your credit card before arrival and released after check-out if no charges apply.
- For stays of 7 nights or more, we recommend a mid-stay clean. Curaçao’s heat and humidity are part of its charm, but they’re hard on a home: towels and linens lose their freshness quickly, and even small crumbs can draw in the island’s ever-curious ants. A mid-stay clean includes laundering all sheets and towels and a full clean of the home, so it feels like day one again. It’s $175, which simply covers our cost, and we’ll find a time that suits your plans. Additional cleans can be arranged at any point during your stay at the same rate. Just ask.
