I don't know where to even begin with this... I have stayed in many hotels all over the country but this was the very 1st time I seriously wondered if I should find a room elsewhere. The only saving grace about this place is the staff, the check-in staff, the owners, the housekeepers were all very helpful and sweet. There was a fridge and microwave in our room. That is where the good things end. It is apparent that no money has been put into this hotel in a very long time. As we walked in it reminded me of the old flop houses in New York City, there is a whole plethora of vending items to be purchased behind the counter, I thought this odd but hey, maybe they do things different in Jefferson City, MO. Anyway, as we walk into our room the over powering scent of probably the worst smelling Glade plug in on earth immediately assaulted our noses and I found my self compelled to find it in the room to immediately disarm it. Then I see our beds, although they looked clean, we were welcomed with stingy pillows (only 2 per bed) as well as cigarette burn holes in the thin blanket adorning both beds. There carpets looked clean until you look closer and can see dirt, dust bunnies and other odds and ends left by previous patrons along the floor/wall edges. All of the furniture was peeling and was missing the veneer overlay, exposing the particle board beneath. Did I mention the homeless encampment in the parking lot behind the hotel?
