On the first night we were here, the hotel staff ensured we had a parking spot on site as I was arriving late from Sweden. That same night, Rosalie, one of the wonderful front desk staff, also gave us a voucher for two free drinks after we arrived.

âTotal gem and worth going a bit off the beaten path. Wonderfully renovated and welcoming spaces. On a cool night there were small fires in the fireplaces in the lobby and in the restaurant. The dinner at the restaurant was the best of our trip, and the included breakfast in the morning was also fabulous. Walkable little town with several historical points of interest, a Friday morning farmers market, and lots of locals at Joyces pub and bakery. We wished we had booked for more than one night. â

âWe had a lovely one night stay recently for a wedding we were attending in the rivercourt hotel, it was amazing value for money. The man dealing with us on check in was so so kind and chatty, we had arranged early check in prior to our stay and this was absolutely no problem which was great. We had chosen a suite to stay in this time; it was clean and perfect for all we had to do, including the to-ing and fro-ing of all the funeral arrangements and calls. The room was quiet and comfortable, and my wife LOVED the bath, which she enjoyed in the evenings after the difficulties of running around arranging the funeral.
One evening, our last night, we ordered food and drinks. The food and drinks were 'lost' in the system and delayed. When we mentioned it, we were given our food for free and multiple apologies from the staff.
Can I say whoever trains these staff does a fantastic job? I like that they have the autonomy to fix things or make decisions that keep the customer happy.
We will visit Kilkenny regularly and in favour of more trendy or even expensive places we will come back to the Pembroke again because of our fantastic and memorable experience here"
