If we could give this house a zero we would without a doubt so people are not booking based on the pretty pictures of the furnishings. We came to NewYork for a week from Vancouver to celebrate B's 60th birthday dream vacation.Upon arrival we cleaned the patio furniture from all the dirt/dust to be able to sit and relax. Severe gas leak in the kitchen which is extremely dangerous and unable to cook for 2 days and 3 of us were forced to eat out. The owner, Mike told us previous tenants also complained of gas.A/C in master bedroom was faulty, and extremely dirty inside so 5 nights without sleep from extreme heat so slept on sofa. The masterbed sheets had discusting stains upon arrival and we were forced to change all the bedding first night.The interior stairs, flooring and banaster were either severely uneven or damaged which was a tripping hazzard, and Dan did fall down the stairs because of it.Got locked in the house for 1/2 day because front door knob was broken and couldn't exit, which meant there was not 2 fire door exits which is dangerous.Woke up to at 7a.m. to a severe leak from upper bath into kitchen from dirty toilet and tub water pouring through the ceiling onto the counters were we had food which was thrown into the gabage, floors were soaking wet. Amber and 3 neibhours told us not to go outside 3 block radius uphill in the dark as it is dangerous and they did not advise it, the neibhourhood was undesirable but excellent location for walking to transit.
