Julienne is a rural village with easy access to all areas of the Charente region. The house is in the village of Julienne, near the towns of Jarnac and Cognac. It overlooks the local vineyards and the valley towards the Charente. The region is considered the second sunniest in France, which is reflected in the production of cognac and local wines. From Julienne, there is easy access to historic towns such as Angoulême, Cognac, as well as many villages with ancient abbeys. The house is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the region.
The region is vibrant and lively, with a variety of events such as jazz festivals, such as La Rochelle in October (larochellejazzfestival.fr), the Cognac Blues Festival in July (www.bluespassions.com), kayaking and horse riding. You can visit Cognac distilleries like Hennessy, Rémy Martin, Otard, Meukow, Camus and Courvoisier in Jarnac. There are many cycling trails. The house is about 4 minutes from the beautiful Golf de Cognac golf course, designed by Jean Garaialde and 25 minutes from the Angoulême forest club, Golf de l'Hirondelle. A third course is the Golf des Forges de Rouzède.
