Purple Pines

Introducing the Purple Pines Cabin at Ocmulgee River Retreat on the Ocmulgee River! Check out the amazing views of the Ocmulgee River, Zellner Island, and the Juliette Dam. This one-bedroom cabin features all the restful amenities of home, with an authentic rustic feel. The house features a studio set-up, with a comfortable queen bed, efficiency kitchen including a microwave and refrigerator.

The home also contains a well-appointed bathroom, features heat and air, and comes with towels and linens.

Amazing Amenities

Don't overlook the river-facing porch with comfortable seating and beautiful views of the Ocmulgee River. The cottage is also situated on a large tract of land for exploring and comes with ample parking, perfect for a boat trailer.

Ocmulgee cabins include amenities such as a charcoal grill, community fire pit, and access to Kayaks and Canoes.

Outdoors Access

The cabins at Ocmulgee River Retreat are on the banks of the Ocmulgee River and just around the corner from the charming town of Juliette, Georgia, home to the famous Whistle Stop Cafe from the movie "Fried Green Tomatoes." We provide the closest, most exclusive access to The Ocmulgee River in middle Georgia and are within a stone's throw of excellent hiking trails and gravel biking routes. If you want to kayak or canoe there's no better location.

For anglers, the cabin is in a hotbed of largemouth bass, shoal bass, and other species that can be targeted from the banks of the river or any of the nearby public lands. Lake Juliette is just around the bend as well, which is renowned for some of Georgia's best freshwater fishing.

We welcome all outdoor enthusiasts, hikers, and bikers to our on-site trail network and we are located just across the river from the Piedmont National Wildlife Refuge and the Chattahoochee National Forest. Explore the miles of trails and secluded roads by foot or bike, highlighted by the Ocmulgee River and Flats Connector Trail.

Hunters will be impressed with the access available for game hunting on these same public lands, as well as nearby Rum Creek Wildlife Management Area. The 5,884-acre property has hunting opportunities for deer, turkey, small game, dove, waterfowl, and coyote.

For duck hunters, Lake Juliette is one of the premiere waterfowl areas in central Georgia. This 3,600-acre reservoir operated by Georgia Power that is surrounded by the Rum Creek WMA and is adjacent to the Rum Creek MARSH project, a refuge area for wintering waterfowl. The most common species of ducks found on the lake include ring-necked ducks, lesser scaup, teal, and mallards.
