Hotel historique
Très jolie construction au milieu des collines de thé. Hotel avec cachet. Niveau 4 étoiles. La chambre est un peu vieillote et le matelas pas très bon. Douche difficile d accès. Pas bien insonorisé. Le buffet est bon et une mention spéciale pour les fruits frais au petit déjeuner. Hôtel un peu cher par rapport à la qualité, mais on paie le bâtiment historique, et la vue.

The location of the hotel is incomparable. We loved the opportunity to stay in an historic building which has been lovingly restored. We were incredibly well looked after by everyone who works at the hotel and highly recommend this accommodation and the delicious food we ate.

Beautiful location and charming old style factory design. Poor amenities - this is not a 5 star hotel. little water pressure, no toiletries, only one power outlet in the room, slow wifi, no pool, Resturant a la cart menu comes with a “40 min cook time” warnings, it’s really cold there, no heaters

This was a beautiful hotel that captured its history. We had excellent service at the spa, enjoyed dining at the restaurant and it was lovely to walk the grounds. However, I note that while most service was excellent, the supervisors at the front desk treated us very oddly when charging things to the room and then bought the eftpos machine up to our room at 10.30pm (knowing full well we had an early morning start the next day to hike Horton Plains) to get us to pay our hotel bill before check out the next day. It put a damper on our entire stay.

The biggest asset of this hotel is the fact that it was once a tea factory. There is still a working mini tea factory on site which guests can tour. The hotel is quite removed from most of civilization which has its own pros and cons. It is also quite a trek to get to and from the hotel. With a very narrow road used for two-way traffic, reaching and leaving the property is an adventure on its own but may not be for the faint of heart. Some basic amenities could benefit from both an upgrade and an update, including the showers. The hotel informs guests of the volume of water used per minute when washing hands and showering. Curiously though, the shower knobs were made to be old (more on this below), that water comes out of both the tap and the shower simultaneously. This defeats the entire principle of and drive to conserve water. Any attempt to shut the tap resulted in the knob falling off. It is worth repeating that this was not always a hotel. That means when they renovated it in our more modern times, they made the conscious choice of making it authentically British but not in the best of ways. The rooms are right and rather claustrophobic. The use of green carpeting doesn’t inspire relaxation or bliss. Room interiors are, for the lack of a better word, stodgy. On a positive note, the hotel boasts of magnificent remnants of the old tea factory. This truly is the highlight of the stay.

Beautiful property in the middle of tea plantations and away from the city. The hotel is an old tea factory which has been converted into a hotel. an eco friendly hotel with amazing views of the hills. courteous and helpful staff, great food (buffet and ala carte) and lovely garden with a small play area for kids. the hotel provides experiences like nature trail, tea picking, tea making process etc. you can go for an outdoor walk in the near by villages and meet the local women while they are plucking the tea leaves. Nuwara Eliya as a town is georgeous and so mesmerizing. we travelled from Kandy to Nuwara eliya and had some amazing views of the tea estates, mountains and water falls.

Fabulous hotel and service was fantastic. Beautiful picturesque surroundings. The staff were courteous & went above & beyond to make us feel welcome and special. Special mention to Gawshal the Duty Manager and Nuwan the Restaurent Manager for their excellent service & care. This is a must visit hotel on your visit to Sri Lanka.

The place and people are awesome, the food and service likewise. It was truly exceptional and the team should be very proud- a unique experience. The hotels rooms are not to the same standard as everything else but this is something that can be easily fixed with new drapes and carpet.

The Heritance Tea Factory is a great place to experience. The staff are wonderful, the food is very good and all in all we’re very glad we stayed. The bathrooms are a bit passé and the décor is a bit drab... but... do go! The surrounding area is truly stunning and the cottage garden is enchanting. So much to do and see... a great quirky experience.

What a magical place. We had a room with a balcony which I would highly recommend as the views and crystal clear air are stunning. The standard of the room and the friendliness and professionalism of the staff was first class. The food was excellent. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

I booked this hotel but then called the hotel within 2 hours of booking it to cancel it due to it being much farther drive from the city than searched. The hotel manager refused to refund me even though I never went and called right after I booked. Hotels.com said to me it is the hotels decision if I can be refunded. Horrible experience.

WOW! that is what I would say. Beautiful location, well maintained hotel and superb service and food. We spent three nights here and we were made to feel like royalty. The food was superb, the staff had smiles on their faces all the time!

Stunning setting
Wow, what a location! It’s a slow drive to get there, but so worth it. To see the hotel above the clouds, and such an incredible hotel. I loved everything. This was the only hotel on my Sri Lanka trip, that gave loose tea, tea strainer and milk in the room, to enjoy a morning pot of tea! I loved the 30 minutes at night when the old motor is turned on, when they serve funny cocktails. I do wish they’d told me about the dinner available in the train carriage or even the gardens and walks. I found those out by accident by myself. The restaurant has a buffet at night that is huge and more than what I wanted, however they could give me the simple Caesar salad from the menu, that I really fancied eating.

What a fantastic place! Heritance Tea Factory is up in the hills near Nuwara Eliya - it's about 20 minutes from town. The hotel itself is a marvel: a converted tea factory. Great rooms, excellent food, friendly service.

茶畑の山の上にあるクラッシックなとても素晴らしいホテルです。景色、ブリティッシュガーデンも素晴らしいです。サリーを着て行う茶摘み、マイクロ製茶工場見学(機械が小さい)本格的なティーテイスティングなどのアクティビティも充実しています。アフタヌーンティー、茶葉を使ったコース料理、フェイシャルマッサージもあります。 また宿泊したいホテルです。ありがとうございました。

Exceptional service and breathtaking nature
The hotel is perfect for disconnecting from the world and relaxing. It is located in a remote area surrounded by tea plantations and vegetable gardens. The views are absolutely breathtaking and the hotel staff goes above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. There is a playground, a mini tea factory and a gorgeous garden with rabbits on premises.

We had booked a delux room with twin beds, however when we arrived we were told that the delux had no twin rooms and we were downgraded with no further compensation which was very upsetting. We have asked Management what they will do about it and their was nothing in return.

Dear Valued Guest, We regret to read that your expectations of the room facility were not met. Following your comment, we have investigated in to the same and as per our records, you had booked an Executive room and have requested a Twin Room in the Executive Floor. However, as we had explained at the time of arrival, Twin rooms are not available in the Executive Floor, under Deluxe Category all the rooms are with Double Beds similarly mentioned on all our booking engines. However, understanding your dissatisfaction we had offered a Superior Twin room as an alternative option. Furthermore, all the executive floor entitled amenities were offered in the superior room as well as a free tea plucking tour arranged which to our regrets, due to the bad weather, you could did not visit. absolute perfection
Absolute dream of a hotel; my only regret is that we stayed for just one night – with hindsight we would’ve stayed for two nights, or at least waited until the very last moment to check-out!! From the moment we arrived, we knew we had made the right decision to splash out and stay here, more so when we were shown to our Superior Room and were greeted by the endless views of tea plantations for all 4 of the windows (3 in the bedroom, 1 in the bathroom – all covered the full length and height of the wall so the views were very much encompassing). If you making the effort to come to this hotel (which was about 45 min drive from Nuwera Eliya along small winding roads) do spend the extra cash and pay for a Superior Room – you will NOT be disappointed. We woke at 5:30am to open our bedroom curtains (it was suggested to us by every member of staff once they found out our room number!) and watched the sunrise over the tea plantations – it was probably one of the most beautiful sunrises I have ever had the privilege of seeing. The view of the tea plantations is so iconic and intricately linked with the image I had in my mind of Sri Lanka, so this room did not disappoint! I spent many hours during our stay here just sitting in the room and looking at the windows; such different views from each window, with the colours, shapes and textures seeming to change with the changing light. You really won’t be disappointed if you book a stay here!
