Quiet and Central Location in a Historic House with a Variety of Excursions

Our house with a garden is situated in a quiet location in the historic center of Kandern. Children and dogs are warmly welcome here. It’s ideal for a large family or a group of up to 8 people.
A 5-minute walk takes you to the town center, where you’ll find a movie theater, shops, restaurants, and an ice cream parlor, as well as the swimming pool and beautiful hiking trails. The Westweg trail runs right past Kandern. In the immediate vicinity, open hiking huts, the Wolfsschlucht gorge, nature trails, the summit of the Blauer, and the rolling hills of the Markgräflerland—with its cultural landscape characterized by orchard meadows, fields, and vineyards—invite you to explore. At the same time, its location in the border triangle offers many interesting destinations for day trips. For example, the cultural city of Basel with its diverse attractions, the Augusta Raurica archaeological site, the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein, and the Parc des Eaux Vives whitewater park in Hunigue, France, are all about a 30-minute drive away. Furthermore, the Technorama in Winterthur, Switzerland; Europapark and the water park in Rust, Germany; and the picturesque French town of Colmar are all within a 60- to 90-minute drive. Many other exciting and beautiful excursions for people of all ages await you in the region.

A visitor’s tax is charged in Kandern, which is included in the booking. This entitles you to the so-called KONUS Card, which allows for free use of regional public transportation.

After an eventful day, you can relax wonderfully in the quiet rooms of the property. The courtyard and garden also offer space for socializing and relaxing. Here you can sunbathe, play games, or build a cozy fire and have a barbecue.

The house is divided into two apartments (64 & 52 square meters), which are connected by an internal staircase. The furnishings are tastefully decorated. Everything is provided, from a hand blender to a washing machine to a TV.

The first-floor apartment features a cozy bedroom with a double bed (140 x 200 cm), a living room (open-concept) with a sleeper sofa (160 x 200 cm), a kitchen, and a bathroom (with a shower).
The apartment on the second floor has a bedroom with a larger bed (180 x 200 cm), a living room (open-plan) with a sleeper sofa (160 x 200 cm), a kitchen, and a bathroom (with a bathtub). The sitting area (art) is heated by central heating, making dining or socializing in the living room especially cozy. Thanks to the extendable table, there’s enough space for everyone.
