The North Norfolk Line from the North side of the cutting The large cutting here is one of the larger engineering hurdles on the line. Although there is only sand and gravel to dig it must have been a big job. I would imagine the cutting material went to built the large embankment that takes the line to Weybourne. Heather and Gorse can be seen, the sandy soils making Kelling Heath famous for rare plants and animals. This is where Michael Palin first saw the sea, from the train window when the line was still open. Please Note this photo was taken on railway property, I was in possession of a line side pass issued by the railway. Going on the line side without one is trespassing.

“We have just returned from a two-night stay, with two mothers and our 11-year-old sons in a 2-bedroom property. The two-bedroom house we were staying in was very comfortable, completely modernised and in excellent condition, well-heated (a huge bonus since it was snowing on this specific weekend), with wonderful beds and everything you could really want.
