The staff were great and the the room itself was clean and had everything we needed. There was no spa. The indoor pool was very outdated and not very clean or warm especially since it’s December. The elevators are very old and seems to not have been updated since they first built the building. The property had a lot of potential but it is very outdated and needs lots of repairs. While checking out it was pouring outside and there was a huge leak in the lobby. Our overall stay was good but we wish it was more of a spa like stay like we thought.

The other poor views weren kidding. This once was a premier mountain resort that fell into pathetic and shocking disrepair. Most areas are shuttered. The carpeting is filthy throughout but thankfully the beds were clean. Sad place. Stay at a B&B instead.

Disappointing
This place was probably very nice at one time but is very run down now. The elevators hardly worked and I didn’t sleep the entire first night I was there because I could physically hear the elevators running all night. My room was big but there were stains all over the carpet and the furniture. I leaned on the desk in my room and it almost fell apart because it was so wobbly. Kids and families constantly just hanging out and sitting in the lobby even at late hours in the night. This is more like a motel than a “resort and spa”. Great surrounding views but not worth it in my opinion.

I can’t believe the health department hasn’t shut this place down. Mold in the bathroom. The weight room ceiling has a hole in it. The debris is all over the floor and the weight machines and the ceiling is covered in black mold. The ceiling over the pool has paint peeling and falling into the pool. Stains on the carpet everywhere. Bed was like sleeping on a piece of plywood.

This place is awful, I have no idea how it’s in business the rooms need updating there were tears in the walls, by the pool the ceiling is falling and a huge hole in the ceiling by the gym equipment. There is no way this place is up to code it should be shut Down

our first room we were placed in did not have working air conditioning, a working phone and a lock on the door was broke so we got moved to another room where again the door did not lock, and the phone did not work. The whole property is really rundown, the lobby bathroom had missing ceiling tiles the whole place smelled terrible. The pool area was disgusting. Our room was clean, but had bad stained carpet peeling wallpaper. The whole property needs a facelift. On the plus side the staff was very friendly.

This old hotel is out in the middle of nowhere. 30 minutes on very curvy roads. Facilities are old and not maintained. Can't get the smell out of my head.

The lobby is clean and nice. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The outdoors area is is an extremely poor condition, weeds growing though sidewalks, grounds have zero maintenance. The rooms are old and worn with holes in the walls from pictures and other items removed. The door to my room did not have a secondary lock; the chain lock was broken and the dead bolt did not work. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The rest of the hotel outside of the room and lobby is falling apart and should be bulldozed.

Do. Not. Stay. Here. The pictures are nothing like the actual property. Manager was very nice and accommodating, however, property was unkept and unsanitary. There seems to be a Jewish camp that attends here and/or lives at this property. Kids are running around everywhere and on every floor.

This was modest place to stay. My room was large and clean. It looked out on the most beautiful tree filled with golden yellow and orange leaves. The space has seen better days, but the price was right and they allowed pets.

The representative was so nice when we check in, but the room make me so disappoint. I killed two big flying bugs in the room!! And the facilities within the room are super old. Shower either too hot or too cold. Window so dirty! Just one night is enough. Never book here again.

The place is completely run-down. Everything is broken and it is creepy. The carpet was pulled up, there were broken tiles, things were lying around. Nothing from the ad was true. There is no tea room. There is no breakfast. It is an awful place that was probably nice at one point.

Guy on the front desk was great! Very respectful and knows what he's doing. Asked for a room with a good view but he couldnt find any availability. Thank you, sir! The lobby has seen better days. Maybe in it's heyday this was really grand. Looks like there's some improvements planned or going on because i see rolled up carpets and flat screen TVs piled up. Kinda looks clean if not for those. The elevator's up button looks broken but worked. Inside the elevator, the Lobby button was an upside down 7. A vandalized plaque tells you not to jump. The room is opened by actual keys, not key cards, although the doorknob setup has that slot for the keycards. In the room, the sliding doors for the closet rubs on the carpet on the floor. No microwave. Room looks clean. I don't know if the tv channels worked. We brought our firestick and connected it to their no-password wifi. Room phone did not have a dial tone. Tried to connect and reconnect all the cable on the phone and on the wall. Didn't work. The bed was comfortable. The AC worked. There were extra pillows and beddings available in the room. Enough towels for us to use. Mini fridge worked. Keurig coffee. Hot water for the shower and sink. Bathroom throne got royally clogged! Water just wont go down!

Wonderful stay!
Service was outstanding and there were no problems at all. Only apparent that some places of the hotel were in need of an aesthetic repair, not a huge deal to me

Dated but reasonably comfortable for the price
This is an old Jewish Catskills resort. They are still very kosher. The lobby looks antiquated but lovely. The rooms could use renovation and they skimped on what I consider basics, for example, no washcloths. The property is quite run down. However the price was right, the staff was pleasant, and we stayed in reasonable comfort for a night.

needs a paint job
The building and grounds are quite decrepit. Amused by the worn brass plaque in the elevator that reads: No Jumping. Less amused by the weird stains on the bedroom wall and the very loud heating / air conditioning system. Perhaps a "fun" gothic / halloween vibe if seen from a certain angle? On the plus side, the staff were lovely & warm, and there was hot running water.

there was nothing that I liked. I do not know why it is even called a resort and spa. You drive up and the property is dilapidated. There was no water in the pool, tennis courts had lacrosse goals in them. The entrance doors were shattered, the ballroom was disturbing, the furniture was outdated and dirty. Half of the floor was being tiled while the other half had 1970"s carpeting.You drive around to the side and there is garbage and debris in a pile. Grass is growing thru the concrete. The so called restaurant Bently's was closed. Not that I would have dined there if I stayed. I think the entire property is a health hazzard a site for sore eyes. I do not know why Expedia even offered this site when you want to book a reservation in that area.

This hotel was the granite hotel in the 50s and 60s and it’s heyday what a wonderful place it look like it is currently under renovation and it was really cool to see all the rooms for example the restaurants the theatre The mini golf course the lake down the road in the back the pool outside which by the way are all closed but just to venture around and look at everything was very exciting for me and my kids the lobby is beautiful the rooms are OK good enough to spend the night the board rooms are huge and beautiful oh I could just imagine the parties that went on here it is definitely like walking into the shining or as one of my kids said the titanic I did not see any rodents any bugs anything like that they have nice coffee machines and fridge raider in the room I wish them a lot of luck and I hope one day in the future I could come back again and see all of these places back to life

Slightly Abandoned Resort
It was very close to my events Friday and Saturday. When I arrived it looked abandoned with some construction on the grounds. The huge front desk was staffed by a nice and helpful clerk. The room was clean and comfortable.There was no food service. The bars and restaurants were closed. This property looks too big to ever make a come back here. From the looks of it it has been on life support much longer than the pandemic shutdown in 2020. All that considered I would stay there again if I had an event in the area

It was warm and inviting. Clean, staff was super friendly. Great view from the room of the mountains. Amenities were plentiful. The was some entertainment as well. This was a trip and will be returning.

Although the hotel is renovating, We had a great stay at the hotel. The staff was great, lobby was beautiful, Loved the water fountain. My room was very comfortable and clean. Wonderful view of the mountains. I had a microwave and mini fridge in my room, which made it easy for me to store/heat my food.My family and I were pleased with all the accommodations. Keep up the good work.

I reserved a room for a night here for my boyfriend and I to attend an event nearby. After we arrived we learned more about the property and that it is under renovation. However, do not be deterred. Fascinating place. HUGE. Amazingly large and interesting resort property. Was in disrepair but under revitalization. Honestly we thought we would come back out that way and definitely stay at this hotel again just to throw in on the funding which I'm sure is staggering amount to get where it needs to end up. So far the lobby has had a lot done and it's gorgeous carpentry. It's obvious from seeing different areas of the hotel that there are, or will be, tremendously enjoyable amenities for families, conferences, any kind of event. LOVED it. Keep up the project, so we can come back!

Hotels.com should definitely take this off their site! Hotel is not maintained inside or out. They have a Yeshiva in residence on the first thread room floors. My son and I were given a room on the 6th floor, and then told the elevator was not in service. Once getting to our room, climbing a filthy stairwell, the door of our room was broken and the deadbolt was not functional. Additionally, the room was old with peeling wallpaper and holes in the walls. And once we thought we would just watch tv and make the most of it, we learned that the tv didn’t work either…no reception. We basically moved furniture in front of the door and waited for the sun to come up.

Nope.
Stay away. Smelly. Moldy. Was maybe a nice place many years ago but has fallen into rough shape. Ballrooms off the main lobby with tons of old mattresses laying around, gross carpets, the smell was very off-putting, bizarre decor. Came for a fall family weekend, thank goodness it was only one night. Stay somewhere else.

It was good enough if you needed a place to sleep and shower for one night. Heater worked, but my husband needed to clean the filter. Not many additional things worked. Phone not working. TV had no signal. Indoor pool was there but locked. Gym items were rusted.

This property is horrible. Completely old, not well maintained, the rooms are DISGUSTING! there were dead flies and other bugs in the rooms all over the window sill. The windows themselves were dirty. The bed was u comfortable and the comforter was not enough to provide warmth on a rainy cold October night. The heater smelled so I kept it off. The lights didn’t all work. The bathroom was also old and rust on the hardware. The shower head worked but not well and water pooped in the tub. The soap provided smelled disgusting and the towels were so old. The remainder of the properly is also old and terrible. The elevator needs to be upgraded. The floor where the gym and pool are located smelled like animal urine and there was a guest that let her dog into the pool. The gym is rusted equipment that is not maintained and no one can really workout there to be honest. For $175 a night this was a scam. i can not believe anyone would enjoy there stay here and that they charge such a high price per night. Absolutely avoid!
