Perfect

Lovely lodge
We had such a lovely stay at the Bassenthwaite Lodges. The lodge was all ready with the necessities and was lovely and clean. Great location to the lake and a lovely little park on site for children. Highly recommend and hope to return in the future

Perfect hoilday
First time visiting the lake district and it didnt disappoint. The area of the lodge was perfect to explore and visit different places nearby. The lodge itself was perfect , and had everything needed for a very comfortable stay. Will definitely like to stay again and will recommend to all friends and family this lodge.

Our stay in the lakes
Second time we have stayed in this cottage. We had a great time away here. It is not far from Keswick and there is a lovely lake walk and mountain walk nearby. The cottage has everything you need for a family of 4. Julie, the host, was very quick at responding to queries we had.

Comfortable place to stay
Shower excellent, comfy bed. Made a nice change for a holiday rental to have a decent TV. Kitchen not cleaned properly when we arrived (crumbs etc on surfaces). Overall a nice place to stay.

Apologies for the crumbs. The cleaners always do a great job. The electrician had been in prior to your stay to do the annual PAT . I can only assume the crumbs may have been from the toaster when he was checking it

Great 3 nights away!
Just spent a great 3 nights away at this lodge. The lodge itself is very well presented with everything you could need. It is set in a great location with very nice views by the lake and is in an ideal for exploring the area.

Great modern and comforting log cabin
Brilliant host. Plenty of cooking equipment both bedrooms and toilets are lovely and clean. Outdoor washing facilities for you and your hairy pups from the muddy adventures with direct access to the lake although paths may be flooded depending on rainfall. 10 minute drive to Keswick town centre which is full of great shops and bars to have a look round. Couldn’t recommend this enough for someone’s next trip. Thank you!

We wanted a cosy, comfortable, well presented and quiet escape over new year, everything detailed in the advert for this property is correct. Caters well if you’re travelling with dogs. Lovely remote location next to the lake with great views and no one overlooking you. We have rebooked for another visit later this year. Just Perfect ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Winter getaway
The lodge was really cosy. Bed was really comfortable. Julie was so kind to offer us to stay for another night as we were not able to check-in on our first day due to heavy snow but unfortunately, we had to get back to London.

Peaceful and Relaxing
This is our fifth stay in the property. We love the quietness of the site and the location to surrounding areas in The Lake District. It’s ideal for us, as a family, and we love that it’s dog friendly. Julie is always only a message away with any queries or issues we have had. Another lovely stay.

Cosy lodge in great location
Very clean lodge in a great location on the edge of Bassenthwaite Lake. Tastefully furnished with comfy beds, great TV and well equipped kitchen. Only suggestion for improvement would be to have more than one chopping board and sharper kitchen knives for preparing food. We appreciated the gift of a bottle of wine on arrival. Great communication with the host. Thank you.

Great base to see the lakes
We spent a few days exploring the lake district with the lodge as our base. The lodge had everything we needed to be comfortable. The setting itself is scenic, and there are good hikes in the immediate area.

A great stay in the Lake District.
Comfortable accomodations for all concerned. We had family staying nearby, also, who joined us for refreshments, on the deck one day. The lake was beautiful and the Sun Inn, at .Bassenthwaite Village, provided good food.

We had no idea how large the property was--Julie had not told Chris that we had booked. Chris who was called at midnight by folk from the Twa Dogs pub (they brought us to the property from Keswick) was wonderful and got us settled--she even came to see us the following morning. Directions were inadequate for overseas travellers--given too late I don't recall even having the lockbox number--great place for Brits who know there are no straight roads in England

Pleased you liked the place. I am sorry you struggled to find the place. I did send you more detailed directions out the month before your stay as requested. The key code and welcome letter was sent the week before as I always do. No one has ever had a problem before. If you had problems opening the attachments you should have let me know and I could have emailed them to you. Chris is the park manager and would not know about the booking. We are private owners of the lodge and manage the bookings. Hope you still enjoyed your stay. Julie

Lovely lodge
Lodge was lovely and had a view over the lake which was nice. The owner was very helpful and purchased a shower stool for our stay there which meant my husband who has mobility issues could use the shower and also left a welcome bottle of wine. The park itself is well kept, but think it could do with some bins as it is dog friendly..

Every bit as good as its 5* reviews
Lovely lodge, spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped. Beds very comfy (note pillows not feather). Enough toilet rolls and dishwasher tablets to get us through 5 days which was much appreciated. Could have done with some instructions on the heating system or on how to boost the heat for an hour or so, as the lounge was a tad nippy at times.

We had a really lovely stay here. The cottage was immaculate, with everything you need for a short stay. The living room has a wonderful view of the lake and surrounding hills. Lots of helpful tourist information was left for us too. We have stayed in the lakes a number of times over the years and this is our favourite place to stay.

Another great stay for our family
This is our 4th stay at the lodge and, as always, it didn’t disappoint. We love the lodge as it’s extremely clean and well equipped and the site is quiet and peaceful. There’s lots of lovely walks, nearby, which is good for our dog. The site is in a good location for visiting the surrounding areas (by car) like Grasmere, Ambleside, Windermere and Keswick. Julie is always just a message away for any queries and responds quickly. We look forward to visiting again soon.

Excellent property!
Booked the property at short notice for my wife’s birthday as she loves the Lake District and we wanted to take the dog with us! Property was excellent with a nice view of the lake. Nice walks close by. Only downside was the need to drive into Keswick for food. With that said, we would stay at this property again!

A very relaxing stay in a spotlessly clean lodge which is maintained to an extremley high standard. We have stayed in many lodges before but this one certainly beats the rest. The site is very quiet, so peaceful with stunning views over the lake. Can't wait to return.

The cabine has everything requires for a perfect holiday: right next to the lake, quite, moden, compact, comfortble, 15 minutes drive to Keswick centre and all major sites. Strongly recommend.
