Spacious 3 bedroom/3 bathroom townhouse M3 at Kawama Yacht Club. Come and relax at our beautiful home on mile marker 100 in Key Largo in a private, gated community with something for the whole family including 2 heated swimming pool, Tiki Hut area, playground, tennis courts, and a saltwater swimming lagoon. The beach is filled with plant and marine life, ideal for snorkeling. And for the boater/fisherman, there is a boat ramp and a large marina. You can get a slip for your boat for an additional fee paid to the marina manager directly; not through us. Additionally, there is no fishing in the lagoon or Marina. And no swimming in the Marina.

This was our second year spring breaking at Kawama with our elementary school-aged kids. This place offers serval amenities for families and kids, like pools, playground, and the lagoon, and is conveniently located to lots of great restaurants and places, like Founders Park.We were expecting the same condition as our previous townhouse at Kawama. However, this expectation fell short given that it was at the same price point as last year. The townhouse had seen some wear and tear that has not been kept on top of, like holes in walls, large and obvious scuffs on walls, peeling paint, worn out towels and cookware, etc. that make you stop and go, “Really!?” Other things include, outlets not working, missing and dead light bulbs, broken lamps, watered down bathroom soap, questionable toilet plumbing, that are unacceptable. All together these things don’t match the price point compared to an identical townhouse at an identical price at the same property.

My husband and I stayed for a month. Loved the Yacht Club overall but the property was disappointing. The entire townhouse needs to be painted as the walls, baseboards and stairwells are scuffed and dusty. Kitchen and bathroom cabinet doors need re-painting. Ground floor and 2nd floor bathroom cabinets are in need of replacement. Vestibule sink on 3rd floor is too high for children. Floors were filthy (my husband’s feet were black). We needed to have exterminator come twice for ants (bathroom and kitchen). Fabric on kitchen chairs terribly stained. The counter stools were replaced while we were there because they were a filthy and a safety hazard. Both sets of stairs are uneven (top and bottom steps are different heights from the rest). There is NO vent in the downstairs bedroom for AC. It was not worth the thousands we spent for the month, it should be renovated. We have already booked a different property within the Yatch Club for next February. Property manager was wonderful, responsive and helpful however.

The host was quick to respond to whatever needs we had. The house was comfortable with plenty of couches to allow all of us to relax and enough kitchen seating for all of us which is rare in Kawama. We went there to escape the Virginia cold so we spent most of the time outside but it was nice to have a comfortable place to return to. My kids loved swimming in the pools and lagoon, playing on the playground and enjoyed watching the iguanas and finding hermit crabs on the beach and in the woods. We would definitely return!

Loved this cozy townhouse! The check in process was very easy, the beach access was nice! The heated pool was very warm, which was nice on cooler days when the ocean was cold. The jetty by the beach was a beautiful place to watch the sunset. I'm sure it would be even better to watch the sunrise there.

Disappointing. Would not return nor recommend. The first floor bedroom seemed like an afterthought. A bed in a closet. Also that bedroom did not have ac just a fan. Two of the bathrooms were so tiny one person could hardly move around in it. The bottom bathrooms cabinet was corroding under the sink. Last we went to take the garbage out as required. The place with the trash containers was disgusting. Mosquitos all around and it stank. Terrible last impression from the vacation place.

Great location. The stairs are treacherous. My son missed a step because they are very small and not the same height and he fell all the way down. Luckily, he was not seriously hurt. Other than that, the place was good and we enjoyed our stay.

Pre-wedding stay

The property was nice, really liked that there were so many units so my family could also stay and be close. The pool was nice, kids had a ton of fun, really liked the ability to use the bbq and seating area by the pool. The property does have a lot of stairs that I didn’t realize when I booked, we had to be careful with our toddler but she did fine. The location was nice and close to everything we needed for our stay.

Great Vacation Spot

We booked this for a 2 family stay, and the space worked beautifully for us. The communication with us was wonderful, from pre check in to checking on us while we were there and asking how everything was after checkout. We enjoyed our time and would definitely recommend or come back in the future.

The property was in a great location and the rooms were a good size. We loved the balconies. The “renovations” were cheap and the corners of the floors, especially in the bathrooms were dirty. The wall repairs were not sanded or even properly painted. There was no ironing board which was an issue as we were there for a wedding. When I contacted the owner I was simply told there was no ironing board though there was an iron. There were plenty of towels but they were thread bare and rough. I’ve been staying at short term rentals for years and this was not the worst but definitely not what we expected for this area.

A wonderful Thanksgiving stay

We loved the location and grounds!! A bonfire on the beach is just heavenly! The lagoon is amazing. We snorkeled and used the provided kayak. We did not use the golf cart for the extra price, but it was just sitting there all week. We thought it would make more sense if we just would have to pay for gas, but it was nice to walk around. The condo was great! I will say that it is listed for sleeping 10 people.... that is a bit of a stretch. The pull out couch is the classic uncomfortable kind, so I wouldn't want anyone to sleep on that. If we had 10 people, we would not of been able to all eat at the table together. That being said, we did ask for 2 extra chairs for our Thanksgiving meal and they were provided. The bedrooms were great. Very comfortable beds. The master has a king. The second has a double size bunk bed and a twin trundle. The third has a queen. Also, the dishwasher was broken upon arrival, but I was not made aware of that. I found out after trying to get it to work several times. I also found out that a repair man was going to fix it, but I did not know this ahead of time. It just would of been nice to know, so I didn't waste time trying to get it to work and then having to take them out and wash them. I would have used paper plates from the get go. Not that big of a deal. One day they entire neighborhood lost water, which was an island problem. I did not hear back from the manager for a couple hours and by then the water was back on.

Great amenities

We felt right at home! Great amenities on the property. The kids swam in the lagoon and at the small beach. Plenty of room for our family and the condo was very clean and welcoming. Our host was great about checking in to make sure our stay was excellent. We would recommend this home to other families!
