The Secret Garden, located in the center of Old Town, is a historic and charming 2-bedroom, 2-bath cottage that offers a delightful retreat with a serene atmosphere. Upon entry through a secure gated entrance, you will be greeted by a winding red brick pathway that transports you through lush tropical palms leading you to Cottage B. Featuring a cozy interior, this cottage provides comfortable accommodations for guests, with modern amenities and tasteful decor. Outside, enjoy access to a private porch that overlooks beautiful gardens, a shared heated pool and heated spa. Or relax on a private patio/deck with comfortable seating perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. This idyllic setting makes it an ideal getaway for couples or business professionals seeking tranquility and nature.

LOCATION

Located in the center of Old Town. Only two blocks to the White Street shopping district makes it convenient to Fausto’s Grocery Store, a Liquor Store and many well-known restaurants.

Approximately 15-minute walking distance to Duval Street, Southernmost Point, Historic Seaport District, White Street Pier, Higgs Beach Park, Bayview Park, Tennis/ Pickle Ball/Bocci Ball courts, or only several minutes away by bike. Key West airport is 2.3 miles or 7 minutes away by car. If desired, Lyft or Uber is typically only a minute away. Local food stores and restaurants deliver.

Primary Suite

California king bed, lights in headboard for easy reading, 2 chest of drawers, flat screen Roku TV. Room has 2 closets, a commercial side-by-side washer and dryer, stick vacuum, iron and ironing board, starter detergent, beach towels and beach blankets, new bamboo mattress and pillow covers, extra sheets, pillows and blankets. Full-length mirror, and an end-of-bed bench. Features light filtering or room darkening remote window blinds. Bed tables/lamps and ceiling fan with a light. There are 2 beach chairs stored under the bed, provided for your use.

Second Bedroom

Queen bed with adjustable bed base with remote for flexible sleeping comfort. New bamboo mattress and pillow covers. Private sliding glass door entrance to porch/garden/pool/spa area. Features remote light filtering or room darkening blinds. Large closet, storage, chest of drawers, mirror, chair, oriental rug, bed tables/lamps extra sheets, pillows, blankets/comforters.

BATHROOMS:

Bathroom 1

Newly renovated spa-like bathroom with spacious European style open-glass shower, large soaking tub, vanity, high toilet and French doors that opens to private patio if you want an outdoor-feel option. Light-filtering or total privacy remote blinds to provide the experience you want. Lighted fog-free mirror, wall fan and dimmable wall lights to set the atmosphere. This bathroom is accessible from inside and outside the cottage. Lush bath towels, hand towels and wash cloths provided.

Bathroom 2

Pebble stone floor and shower, toilet, medicine cabinet and vanity. Privacy windows, lush bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths, hair dryer, scale, shower rugs/towels provided for your convenience.

LIVING SPACE and SUNROOM:

A beautifully detailed renovation combines old with new! Living room has a vaulted open beam ceiling with dual ceiling fans to provide additional comfort. The living room is tastefully decorated. It has a queen pull-out sofa, 2 La-Z-Boy reclining chairs, lamps, 55” flat screen smart TV, built in bookcases filled with a
variety of local history, fiction and non-fiction books. Two sets of French doors that lead to either a private patio or to a historic 1890’s Cigar Maker’s cottage with original Cuban tiles, now turned into a glass enclosed sunroom/office area. This quaint room is furnished with a hand-painted high table and 4 chairs by local keys artist, Mariano Leone. Room also features a desk, 2 chairs, monitor, keyboard and mouse to make your working environment easy. Storage space with basic office supplies for your convenience. It also exits into the private patio area. The open floor plan combines living room with kitchen providing free flowing entertainment options.

KITCHEN:

Custom kitchen with beautiful Quartz counters, under counter lighting, and tiled back splash. It includes

stainless appliances, new cabinetry, with large sink conveniently located in an extra wide peninsula with two bar stools making it a popular gathering spot. Gas stove with convection/air fryer options with double-
tap oven light for ease. 3-drawer dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator/ freezer with external ice and water dispenser, featuring second ice maker in the freezer. Cooking utensils, hot pads, dish towels provided.
Beverage center includes lighted wine rack, blender, Keurig combo coffee maker for either 12-cup pot or one cup options, electric coffee grinder and a variety of mugs. Floor-to-ceiling pantry for food and plenty of storage that includes assorted glass and plasticware for drinks by the pool. Also provided are a rice cooker, electric juicer, toaster, spice cabinet, crock pots, new pots and pans, dishes, storage containers, cutlery, cutting boards, charcuterie board and bakeware all provided. Pull out garbage and recycling drawer, starter cleaning supplies, mop/broom/ stick vacuum provided for easy clean-ups. Kitchen door has a key-less locked entrance from the motion-lighted porch access.

Directly adjoining the kitchen has an adorable, custom-made breakfast nook area that has L-shape padded seating, butcher-block table, original artwork, and extra-large windows making it ideal setting for dining, game playing, or reading while enjoying the view of the pool, spa and the colorful gardens. Both the kitchen and breakfast nook have options for either light-filtering or complete privacy remote blinds.

COMMON AREAS: You would never believe that this hidden oasis is behind the street-side locked gate that includes 6 small cottages that make up this community. Walk down red brick paths, and beige stone pavers, surrounded by mature palms, variety of flowers and trees that lead to the cottages and the shared pool and spa areas. Multiple water features, and mature florals that bloom throughout the year that is pleasing to both your sight and smell, a favorite memory to all guests. These impeccably maintained grounds provide a beautiful and magical indulgence on this tropical island.

POOL / SPA: Enjoy a L-shaped heated pool and large spa available to you for year-round enjoyment. There are sun loungers, tables, chairs and lighted umbrellas for you to use while enjoying these amenities.

PRIVATE PATIO/DECK: A private patio /deck with outdoor dining area, lighted umbrella, sitting chairs with ottoman's, large fan, a Key West hammock chair, artwork and outdoor gas grill are located on the side of the home. This is a private patio, which has its own entrance and use is just for this cottage. All plants are on an automatic watering system so just enjoy, no worries of upkeep. Fence surrounding patio/deck also has string lighting to set the nighttime mood. What a great place to enjoy your star gazing, morning coffee or tea or to settle in and read a good book!

PARKING: Although parking is not assigned the road offers unrestricted parking along the street.

PETS: We love animals but unfortunately do not allow pets in our guest house.

GUEST AGE MINIMUM: Primary guest must be at least 30 years old and must be present for the stay.

Maker, Cooking utensils, New Pots and Pans, Toaster, Stick Vacuum Cleaner. Dining can be in the breakfast Nook, Kitchen Peninsula, in the 1890 Cigar Makers Cottage/Sunroom or Outside at the Pool-side Tables or on the Cottage’s Private Porch or Patio/Deck. Outside Gas Grill also for your use.
