“Nice room (39) comfy bed, old-fashioned but beautiful armoire and dressing table. Coal effect fire, but central heating was excellent so didn't need it. Fitted bathroom with underfloor heating was really cosy. Really clean. Good breakfast and bar food was excellent . Highly recommended ”

“We LOVED our stay here! Our room was the “Grand Room, 1 King Bed, Balcony, Garden View” in the newer building and the attention to detail was exceptional. Loved the large comfy bed, our cozy robes, the deep bathtub and accompanying luxury toiletries and bath soaking salts. The WiFi was fast and the staff members were fantastic. It was a close walk into town and close to everything you could want to explore in the Lakes District. Very cool how the hotel provides wellies (Hunter Boots) for guests...

“Ett besök med övernattning på The Royal Oak rekommenderas starkt. Rummet var toppen, det var rymligt med skön säng och ett jättefint badrum. Puben under hade mycket god mat och ett stort urval av den lokalt producerade och mycket goda ölen. Till den finns en stor och fin ölträdgård som inbjöd till att ta ett glas i en lugn och skön miljö. En promenad i den fina lilla byn med flera restauranger, caféer och butiker. ”

“Väldigt fint rum, vänlig personal i receptionen. Beställde mat i baren, efter en timme och 15 minuter inget hade kommit. Behövde kör till Ambleside för att få någon mat. ”
