“We really enjoyed our stay at The Fox Hall Inn. Our room was modern, spotlessly clean, comfortable, good value for money, and the free continental breakfast (delivered to our room) was an added bonus! The staff were welcoming and attentive and it was the perfect stop off for a couple of nights whilst visiting Barnard Castle, about 10 minutes away by car. “The location is a perfect ten, but the staff was far from good. First of all, it took us 1.5 hours to check in, and we didn’t sense any effort to speed up the process. There was a complete lack of willingness from the staff to make our experience enjoyable. Our room was also dirty, which unfortunately aligned with the poor check-in experience. The Tan Hill has the potential to be amazing. It has everything going for it—except the staff, who failed to make our stay pleasant.”

“What a tasteful yet homely pub stay! There was poor comunication between expedia and kings Head regards the number of people in our party for the room! But staff did all in their power to compensate and make us comfortable!! Will certainly go back and will give an excellent score. Loved the food and everything about it!! Only downside is - food stops at 8pm. But they do ptovide a cold platter after this time that's delicious! ”
