I booked this hotel four days prior to my check-in date. However, upon arrival, the receptionist informed me that due to server glitches, they could not provide me a room as all rooms were full. I explained that I had booked well in advance and asked why I hadn’t received any communication about this issue. Their only response was that they had technical problems and kept repeating the same excuse.
Eventually, they allotted me a room, but it was in a pathetic condition—no fan, dirty bedsheets and blankets, and the room was not cleaned at all. The bedsheet had multiple holes and cigarette burn marks. When I requested a change, they initially said this was the best they had for that room. After arguing, they finally replaced it.
I am not expecting five-star service, but basic cleanliness and proper communication are essential. Harassing customers like this is unacceptable. I visit Kolkata every month for professional purposes and have never experienced such negligence from any hotel in this segment.
