We joined the morning and afternoon meditations and everything was great - only the western turists were being unpolite and disrespectful in these ceremonies. The munks who are in charge of the whole hotel are really nice and helpful. Food was delicious! ”
“We could wright that this is an authentic special experience like so many others, but to be honest it's not that special in comparison with other more authentic ryokan and minshuku throughout Japan. Touristic temple hotels are big business on Koyasan and the monks now it. You will notice that fact in some way or another during your stay. The prices are not reasonable for what you'll get in the end. But what can you do about it if you, like us, wish to stay in a Japanese monastery?
