Really lovely traditional stay in Kyoto. Staff were extremely helpful and welcoming throughout our stay, and the room was immaculate. We also appreciated the small things like a new local treat and tea each day.

Highly recommend. It was very traditional which is exactly what we wanted. The Inn and the room was spotless. All the staff were always helpful and very kind. It is one of our most enjoyable and memorable stays in Japan.

Everyone was always polite and genuine in wanting to make us feel so welcome. We wanted to experience a traditional Japanese Inn and our expectations were exceeded. The room was beautiful with everything traditional in style. I highly recommend this hotel.

Amazing Ryokan with public baths and traditional rooms. The hosts were amazing, the most attentive and helpful hotel I have ever encountered and couldn't do enough to help. Good understanding of English and excellent value for money. Fully recommend with a 10/10. Thank you!

Really enjoyed our stay at this traditional ryokan! First off, the staff is incredibly friendly - from the minute you check in they’re super welcoming! Has a mom and pop feel to the place. Every day as we left to explore the city, an older lady would come out and greet us and give us hand warmers to ensure we would stay warm (we visited Kyoto in January). How sweet is that! The place is incredibly clean and tidy. Loved how traditional and minimalist our room felt. The onsen was the cherry on top. They have a small onsen and a larger one with views of a garden (men and women switch off every day between the two to ensure equal access). 5 min walking distance to Kyoto station and right across from a cool looking shrine. Would absolutely stay here again if we came back to Kyoto!

一到旅館，旅館員工便來接待，還細心叫我坐下 ，不用在前台站著，然後又詳細地跟我介紹旅館。 還帶我看看溫泉沿場的環境。 因為旅館沒有電梯，服務員會幫忙把行李搬到房間，還貼心說退房的時候把行李放在房間，服務員會幫忙拿下來。 旅館環境雖細小但挺舒服的 溫泉浴場男女湯會每日互換，唯一不足是其中一個浴場太細小了，如果有其他人一起泡會挺尷尬的。 如果來京都又想住溫泉旅館又不想太花費，這是個不錯的選擇

Excellent Service & Accommodation
Excellent service provided by hotel staffs. Upon check-in, staffs explain every details about accommodation. Gave recommendations on places of interest. Showing us around the property and bring us to our room too. Property is convenient and walking distance to convenient stores and kyoto train station as well. Will highly recommend this property to anyone who wish to experience a stay in ryokan.

リニューアルされたということで、とても綺麗でした お風呂が大きくてリラックスできました！ アクセスも京都駅から歩けるし、目の前が東本願寺でロケーションもよい！ 素泊まりプランで予約しましたが、近くに美味しいお店もたくさんあるので食事には困りませんでした 宿のスタッフの方も皆さん優しくてよかったです また京都に来たら利用したいです

The hotel was in amazing location and it had a lot to offer. The staff were really great with communicating and helping with whatever was needed. Also I recommend doing the traditional breakfast because it was delicious.

Great location and super friendly staff
Staff was outstanding. Super helpful and really nice. This is a great location. 10 minute walk to train station and across the street from a major Buddhist temple. Hotel is very clean and well cared for. It was a bit expensive. Rooms are small and fairly basic. Baths were very nice. We spent 6 days here and it was a great home base for exploring Kyoto and for using our JR Rail Passes to do day trips to other cities.

No curfew, but they lock the front door after certain time. It would be excellent if they expand the bath hours after midnight. It’s a great place/service in general though.

Generally OK but a bit underwhelming
This ryokan is a fine place to stay for a short trip. The staff are very friendly and the room was fine but it neither has the amenities of a modern hotel nor the real charm of a classic ryokan. I'd heard lots about the amazing hospitality in ryokans but here it was good but basic (e.g. I understood that often rooms will be set up with the table for tea when you arrive then later the beds will be laid out, here the beds were ready laid out and there was just a kettle for you to make your own tea if you wanted to). The location is very good, close to the station and a subway route, walkable to Gion too.

Comfortable stay, but too expensive for the services. Also very strict about time to return at night and checkout. Were pointing out even delays of 20 mins in checkout.

親切有禮的和屋
房間整潔，酒店位置鄰近京都站 只需走7-10分鐘便可到達。酒店周邊有型百貨和食店。行五分鐘有便利店。 和屋主人親切，我在Hotels.com book到6人房，房間簡介說明有私人浴室和浴缸，但到了後發現房間內並沒有浴室，跟和屋主人溝通後，他也感到十分抱歉並主動提出換房，並道明該房間會比較小。雖然和屋主人用英語溝通比較困難，但他們仍十分熱心，嘗試用翻譯軟件幫助溝通。和室有一個老婆婆像奶奶般照顧著。

安宿という感じが…
京都の駅周辺はビジネスホテルばかりで、京都らしい和の感じのホテルがとても少なく、その中ではリーズナブルなので仕方ないのでしょうが、部屋が写真とは違いとても狭く、布団を二組敷いたらほぼいっぱいな感じのお部屋でした。3時にチェックインしたのですが、お部屋に入ったら既に布団が敷いてあって、雰囲気が壊れた感じがしました。門限が11時だかだったので、観光していて慌ただしく戻って来たので、時間を気にせずに観光ができたらと思いました。

Warm Japanese Hospitality
The hotel is located 10 mins walk from the Kyoto train, very convenient to get to and around. Upon early arrival, we were greeted by a sweet older woman (reminded me of my grandma and I immediately felt safe and at home) and she said we could keep our luggage in the lobby area since check in was 3pm. Although their English is limited, they were very prepared with English instructions and directions. We even opted for a traditional Japanese Breakfast and it was delicious (just remember to pay by cash). My friends and I took off to explore Kyoto and to our surprise when we arrive back to check in time they have placed our bags in our room and set up our beds already. there was a lot of space for our luggage and 4 people. the bed was very comfortable and soft. The bath and bathroom (4 at a time) are shared, but it was very clean and amenities (toothbrush, soap, face wash, shampoo/conditioner) were provided. At the end of our stay, the same women that checked us in gave us a Japanese potpourri as a gift and in Japanese wished us a safe journey. I would definitely come back and stay with them again. Their hospital was perfect.

I LOVE this ryokan! It was my second stay; the breakfast alone was worth coming back, but also the service is above and beyond kind. It helps if you speak Japanese, but they are very familiar with foreign guests.
