My stay at Baldi Hot Springs Hotel had both positive and disappointing aspects.
The pools are excellent and offer a genuinely hot thermal spring experience. The rooms were clean, and the balcony was spacious and pleasant. Service overall was mostly good. Breakfast was acceptable; however, the vegetarian options at the dinner buffet were quite limited. The pizza and cream of mushroom soup were enjoyable, but overall the food quality was average.
It was also surprising that the hotel does not serve alcohol, which may be relevant information for future guests.
Unfortunately, the most disappointing part of our stay involved a server named Jason at the bar in front of reception. I clearly ordered a single item: “chicken fingers with fries.” However, he assumed that the fries were an additional order and brought two extra bowls. When I pointed out the mistake, he refused to take the extra items back and attempted to pressure me into accepting them. Eventually, he said, “It is okay if you do not want to pay,” before finally removing the extra plates.
This interaction felt unnecessary and unprofessional. A simple acknowledgment of the misunderstanding and correction would have sufficed. Guests spend a significant amount of money to travel and stay at this hotel, and respectful service should be standard.
I asked to speak with the manager but was told, somewhat reluctantly, that the manager was not available. I left a written complaint with a staff member named Jesus at reception, but
