We were charmed by our three-night stay at Domaine de Brousson. The hotel is located in a small village called La Tour d'Orb and is managed by a charming and welcoming Swedish couple, Anders and Anna, who gave up their lives in Sweden a number of years back to glory in the Languedoc soleil and charm. The hotel is in a beautifully maintained maison de maitre and the rooms are light spacious and clean. The owners are very helpful in helping you out with touring tips and other advice if you need it. Nearby and reachable by foot is a supermarket and a very helpful automatic laudromat where you can do a large load of wash for less than 10 euros.
The "cerise on the gateau" as the French say (icing on the cake) of Domaine de Brousson are the breakfasts. These are served outside in the warm months and in Anna's lovely dining room otherwise. You can expect organic homemade breads, jams, yoghurts, fruit, delicious pancakes, and many more things depending on the season, prepared with love and care by the formidably energetic Anna. If you drink coffee, don't forget to ask for Anders' Swedish brew. Anna will also prepare meals for you with advance notice.
Anders even invited us to a local chateau in nearby Lunas where he was performing his other sideline spinning records as a DJ. It was wonderful.
If you get a chance, this is definitely a stopover not to miss!
