Our twosome enjoyed Cottage B which has a gorgeous remodeled kitchen. Six burner stove makes me think large groups are the norm here. Bed we used was extremely comfortable, but sheets a little thin and wouldn't stay on the mattress. The Lake Michigan area is not particularly dog friendly, so we are grateful to Frank and the neighborhood association for allowing our dog in the cottage and on the private beach, especially for such a reasonable pet fee. As it turned out, our lab did not accompany us, and Frank graciously refunded our pet fee. Three concerns led me to a 4-star rating: 1) while the cottage is reasonably priced, very clean and fairly comfortable, it looks "well used" in places; 2) the beach is near (as described), but it is down (and up) 40 or more steps which would make it difficult/impossible for some (I do not recall this being mentioned in the details); and 3) six pages of rules for our stay, a lengthy rental agreement to initial/sign, a checkout list to sign. Frank explained the need for rules, and I absolutely agree that rules are important and necessary, but this seems excessive. We have stayed (with our dog) in VRBO rentals in at least five other states, and have not encountered this before. So many house/beach rules and the beach security cams made us a bit uncomfortable.
