Gillade: Incheckning, kommunikation och plats
Arrived at the house after sunset to a dark house - no porch light or inside light to welcome us. Also, there was no “welcome book/sheet” to show us where to find a/c / heat as well as other house info that most VRBO homes have to help visitors. Kitchen appliances , dishes, etc… need updating or new replacements. No info on when to put trash out for pickup and only one trash bin located. The house itself was beautiful in the historic front interior and had plenty of area for our stay. Need to advertise for adults only given the fine antiques! (Found razor blade on window seal in the sunroom and saw plastic water bottle (?) on 2nd floor ceiling beam.The exterior needs cosmetic work and landscape grooming. Interesting home but not worth the price I paid.

The house could be a beautiful property, but it needs to be cleaned and updated a bit. When we arrived we noticed the first floor was warm and the thermostat read 78 degrees. When we checked out the rooms on the second and third floors, we found each level progressively hotter. We tried to change the thermostat and ran some errands, but when we returned, it was not cooler. Since we were there for our daughter‘s wedding, we found a different place to stay and contacted the property manager the next day. Because the cooling system could not be fixed, we had to find alternate places to stay. I do appreciate that our fees and rental expenses were refunded. The people who work for the Evolve team and VRBO were extremely helpful and responsive. While we didn’t stay, we did notice a few things as we first unpacked our refrigerated items. We found carpeting in the bathrooms that was stained and one of the counter in a bathroom had burn marks, probably from a candle. While there were 4 full bathrooms, only two had showers. The others just had tubs. The typical set of instructions about check in/check out were missing and we had to hunt for a hand towel for the bathroom. The WiFi password and other general instructions were not found in the house or emailed to us. I hope the repairs are made and a fewupdates are added. The second story game/family room would be a cool space to gather in with a big group. The property has potential and the woodwork was gorgeous.
