  • Tucked away in the heart of Lead, South Dakota you'll find this charming late 1800's gem. The Overlook Nook is surrounded with rich history and the enchantmentto match it. Sleeping six guests comfortably, this quaint home provides a uniqueBlack Hills getaway. As you walk through the front door you are greeted bythe large dining room area. Complete with a gathering table of four chairs and a bench your guests can share in conversation and meals throughout your stay. The dining room flows into a fully stocked kitchen with all the appliances and comforts of home. Continuing through the main flooryou're met with the living room area that displays a sectional style sofa and lounge space to unwind. The master bedroom is located just behind the living room space and connects jack and jill style to the main floor full bathroom with matching dual vanity sinks. There is a stackable washer and dryer in the home as well for guest use. Upstairs you'll find a queen bedroom and across the halla double twin bedroom. Connecting the two sleeping areas is a nook for reading, playing games, or extra storage for your belongings. The Overlook Nook has plenty of deck space for grilling and spending time outdoors with the whole crew. Minutes away from historic downtown Lead you'll find all sorts of activities and opportunities awaiting you. Attractions include the Sanford Lab Homestake Visitor Center, amuseum of exhibits, observation deck, and home of the Open Cut. As well as The Black Hills Mining Musuem where you can try your hand at sleuthing for gold. Just down the road from the Overlook Nook is a local coffee shop with signature drinks,fresh baked goods, and quick eats. The Lead City Park is also within walking distance for a game of sand volleyball, playground equipment, and a splash pad perfect for an evening of unwinding and enjoying the hills firsthand. This newly renovated and updated home is just a quick scenic drive away from Deadwood and offers the perfect location for all the northern hills have to offer. We've stayed in the Black Hills for years, and this property was one of the better homes we've booked! The communication with the owners was always quick and kind, and the home itself was great for our needs. The kitchen was well stocked, and we really like having a distinct dining area separate alongside the living room. The double sinks in the bathroom were great, and the bed was very comfortable. Lead is a great location to use as a home base in the Hills--we highly recommend!

This was a great location for viewing all things from Custer to Spearfish to Deadwood! The home had everything we needed as far as accommodations. The host reached out with specific instructions in advance, which was very helpful. Recommend this area and home, it was perfect to see the sites but not be stuck in a typical touristy traps.

The property was exactly as described, very clean and well equipped. The hosts were extremely flexible responding quickly to questions and adjusting to our travel arrival and departure needs. The property was conveniently located to Lead, Deadwood, and Spearfish. It served as a great home base for my wife and I as we were in town to celebrate my youngest son’s wedding.We look forward to returning to town for future visits.Thank you,David & Diana

Family of 4 had a great experience

Fantastic house for our family roadtrip! The house had everything we needed, it felt like home. The location and view is a huge reson we were drawn to this place. Very happy with our stay and will be back. Host was in full communication and check in and out was a breeze.

Nice little get away place

I liked the location and the views. The only complications was the VRBO address listing is on the other side of town. Luckily, the manager gave a good set of directions to get to the house.

Comfortable cozy stay

We loved staying here. Dining on the deck with a great view of the Open Cut and surrounding hills was so relaxing. The home was very clean and the beds very comfortable. Very convenient location. We didn't need the AC, even in July, just opened the windows. At times, the water pressure was low, but not really a problem.

Would stay again!

We stayed here for 3 nights, the house was clean, nice, and perfect for 3 adults and 2 kids. Had called the property manager with a small issue(the cord on the celing fan broke), and they came out within an hour to check on things for us. The town is nice, not everything was open while we stayed, winter is more of an off season, but still had a great time! Would stay here again!

Home with a View

If your looking for a home with a view and all the amenities take a look at this one! It’s a smaller, older home with character and completely remodeled with all new and modern finishes. Nothing was overlooked. Fully stocked with everything you may need. Close drive to all tourist spots. The property manager is on top of everything and communication was excellent!

It was fine. House was clean, refinished older home, decorated cute. Host was quick to respond with access question. Could use more items in the Kitchen such as storage containers for food leftovers, cheese grater, serving spoons, cooking spray, serrated knifes.Could use another comfortable chair in the living room, not too comfortable for everyone on the couch especially if the place can sleep 6 people.

Great place!

This place was a little tricky to find, but it was super cute and clean. We did have an issue with the upstairs being really cold the first night (it was warm the previous week and snowed while we were in here), but we let them know and they brought us a space heater. Very accommodating! The only thing that surprised me was there was a Keurig but no k cups. So just make sure you bring some with if you plan to have morning coffee. Overall great place to stay!
