Gamla Byre är en idealisk bas för att besöka alla sevärdheter som Peak District erbjuder, inklusive Chatsworth House, Alton Towers (bara 10 minuter), med enastående utsikt över det omgivande landet och fantastiska promenader från dörren, med många lokala vandringsleder. Haddon Hall, Carsington Water, Cheddleton Steam Railway, Rudyard Lake och Meerbook Reservoir för att bara nämna några. Handla 2½ mil och pub 1 mil.

Beautiful house with stunning view

Everything we needed for a short break in the Peak District. Beautiful property, with stunning views and everything that we needed for our family break. Well equipped kitchen, good shower, nice and cosy lounge with wood burner, very friendly hosts. Great location for walking and climbing.

Had a lovely week at The Old Byre.

Had a lovely week at The Old Byre. The location, high in the Peak District offers wonderful views. We had snow whilst there which only enhanced the spectacular scenery. The wood burner made our evenings in nice and cosy. Helen and Kev were welcoming hosts with Kev coming to remove snow to give us an easier exit from the driveway. Would definitely return the this cottage.

Lovely cottage in a peaceful location.

Lovely cottage in a peaceful location. Very pet friendly with a large field to walk the dog every day which is a big plus for exercising your dog in a safe place. This cottage is cosy, so well thought out in terms of functionality, and has everything anyone can possibly need. It's location is stunning, and access to walking trails and interesting places to visit close by. The owners are delightful and helpful, very unobtrusive but available should one need anything. One of the most generously equipped cottages in which we’ve stayed. None of this “one low quality loo roll for the week” nonsense. Plenty of exactly what you don’t want to be buying yourself upon arrival – washing up liquid, scourer, bubble bath etc. Great location on the edge of the National Park, with an astounding view. We're a family of 4 with two young boys (7 and 4) and we all thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay at The Old Byre in August. We fount the cottage to be well equipped and spotlessly clean which was a welcome touch in these pandemic times. The owners were very kind and welcoming, and made us feel at home from the start. The cottage is at the top of a hill with very nice views and perfectly positioned to enjoy the sunset. Great place to stay and definitely recommended! The area is just beautiful, huge surprise and great access to the Peak, District, Alton Towers, Ashbourne, Buxton Ilam etc. Good shopping in Leek For essentials, nice places to eat around, we loved The Country Kitchen Café, between Leek and Ashbourne.

This cottage is fine if the weather is fine.

This cottage is fine if the weather is fine. Unfortunately the weather was awful raining almost very day, with cool temperatures. Nothing the owners could do about that but it meant the magnificent view from the cottage was obscured more often than not by low cloud.
