Love this place
Plenty of rooms and baths and the porch and location is great. This is actually our second time staying here. The owner lived next door and is amazing and very quick to respond if you need him. He also stays on top of making sure the drive is safe with the snow.

Spacious Family Cabin!!
This cabin was so spacious and had amazing views of the area. The rooms were spacious but basic. The living area was the highlight with a giant dinner table, and two seating areas for the whole family to hangout. Kitchen was well stocked, and the cabin had a few puzzles/books/games for us to use. My only negative was the STEEP and long winding driveway up to the property.

AMAZING VIEWS!
This property is gorgeous!!! My family and another family, ages 69 years to 8 months stayed at this house and it was perfect. We loved the private bathrooms in the rooms and the spacious living room. This house is on a mountain with a big hill, the kids loved it. The host is very friendly and responds quickly. It snowed our last night and he was out plowing the drive way before we asked. I would love to come stay again. Wonderful place!

Perfection
We LOVED our stay! The views are breathtaking. There are so many windows & so much porch space that you can see the gorgeous scenery from almost anywhere in the house. Lots of porch furniture. The appliances are nice & there was even a Keurig coffee maker & a Ninja regular maker too. The host was great!

Beautiful Getaway
This was my 5th stay at this property with a group of reuniting friends. Beautiful, relaxing getaway. There was a ladybug swarm happening but the owner came by multiple times to vacuum them up. The AC/Heat doesn't seem to work very efficiently, but we were comfortable. Looking forward to staying again!

Pros and cons to this property
PROS: -BEAUTIFUL views -Lots of space & plenty of living room and dining room seating -Better stocked with kitchen supplies than many rentals -Grill and fire pit made outdoor time enjoyable -Owner was next door and very friendly. He even offered to run to the store if we needed anything. When we asked for a lighter or matches because the grill ignition wasn't working, someone ran them right over. CONS: -Cleanliness. It definitely could have been worse, but I literally wiped small but visible brown and yellow spots off the toilet seat and rim. They were clearly visible and came off easily. There's no reason for that, especially when you pay a cleaning fee. -Communication. A couple weeks before our trip, I messaged the owner with a few simple questions about the property. After a WEEK and sending TWO (friendly!) follow-up messages, I got a response, but no apology (or even acknowledgment) of the poor response time. About a week before our trip, I had a few more simple questions. That time, it was a bit better - 3 days later I followed up and he responded, but again no acknowledgement that I had to follow up to hear from him. -Leaky window - our last night/day it rained. The room my husband and I had a big window and we had to put down towels and collected containers of rain water through the night. Not such a good night! I (very kindly!) let the owner know the next morning (also the day we left) and 4 days later he still hasn't acknowledged that message or the leak.

Must of been confused with another property... I think their phones were off if they tried to get in touch, plus I live right next door. Anyway... when it comes to yellow spots on the toilet they should aim better...lol. Just kidding. We are 5 Star rated.

Serious Repair Issues
Let me start by saying this home has so much potential. But at its current condition I would recommend closing it until completely repaired. First, the easiest to fix: the house needs a DEEP clean. We were informed that the regular cleaning person was ill. But the filthines was way beyond 1 compromised cleaning. We cleaned for 2 hours right behind the cleaning people. And we left it MUCH cleaner than we found it. 2- The bedding was actually dirty on a couple beds and all the sheets were holey. 3- The mattresses were atrocious. Everyone in the house was having back pain. 4- No AC. I understand that it's supposed to be fixed for the next renters. 5- the floor at the back sliding door is collapsing. 6- The upper deck has rotten wood that is literally falling apart 7- there are loose deck railings on a very high deck. 8- There is a broken outlet on the lower level with wires exposed. 8- the master bathroom tub is leaking around the pipes 9- the kitchen cookware was worn-out. The tools were too. Only 6 bowls for eating and only cheap, flimsy plastic bowls for serving. 10- multiple ceilings are rotted from previous leaks. (and the response to a previous renters complaint about this said that all the issues were fixed) Okay, so I could go on, but you get the picture. It has great potential but has very dangerous problems that were difficult to deal with, especially with small children and toddlers. I would recommend not renting it out until these issues have been resolved. And I would absolutely not rent it to people with children!

Quick Assistance
It had snowed and there was unexpected accumulation on the road to the mountain house. When the owner was alerted to the problem of us not being able to leave the property, he immediately started salting the road so we could safely drive down the mountain.

Stunning View/Location...Home in Need of some TLC
Let me begin by saying we stay in 5-7 Vacation Rental Properties per yr. VRBO is our platform of choice. This Property has a 5 star view. That is apparent by one quick glance at any photo taken from its wrap around 360 degree porch. But..... And its a BUT..... that needs to be discussed before renting this home. The home is in much need of repair and some TLC. Their are numerous ceiling patches from previous water damage coming from upstairs plumbing. We had, at some points through out our stay up to 1/4 inch of water in one of the bathroom /bedroom closet areas downstairs. The homeowner was of course informed of this during our stay, and his response was simply ' thanks for letting me know'. Not a, "was any of your items water damaged?" , or a "do I need to send someone out to clean up the water?" or even a "let me get right on this to fix it". Let alone a follow up on this later, to find out the progress of this water issue. One strike there for communication by homeowner. There were several other times we contacted the homeowner with unrelated questions where we had no reply whatsoever from the homeowner. Uncalled for in the age of technology. especially given 24-48 for a reply of any kind. The other negative report I would mention is the amount of or I should say Lack of, glasssware, cookware in the home. With a home this size with such a very large potential occupancy rate, this is completely unacceptable. I counted a total of 5-6 large glasses, 1 wine glass, and 1 small size glass. Bowls are almost non existent. 1 saute/.frying pan. We made the best of it with 11 adults in our group by grabbing some red solo cups and some cookware on the second day of our stay. The home has such potential and deserves a thorough deep cleaning ( for starters all the dead flies in the hard to reach window areas of the foyer ) ALL of the issues we experienced could be very quickly resolved if the proper attention to this Beautiful Property was addressed. Oddly enough, our group would easily Re-Book this home for a future stay, if we could be confident its conditions and the communication of the homeowner were improved. The Homeowner/Property Owner needs to step up their game. You have a very nice property here, best of luck with it.

Sorry for these issues, we have addressed all the issues, and have been repaired. And the kitchen items are all up to date with plenty of glasses and dishes. Thank you for your information.

Family gathering
Four siblings and spouses (in our 60’s) meet up once a year and this year we chose West Virginia. This house was probably too large for our group but we loved the location, view, and the outdoor areas. There was plenty of room to hang out and visit. It was comfortable and spacious! Our host was communicative and took care of any needs we had. Highly recommend this property.

Amazing getaway
This was our 4th or 5th stay, and we'll be back for more! Amazing accommodations for a large group getting together. It would be nice to have some reflectors along the drive up the hill (it's so DARK at night), but we look forward to our stay each year!

ON TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN
It was a very relaxing stay for the week. You are actually on top of the mountain. Stephen was available when needed for a repair, came right away. Excellent view of everything especially sunsets. Grandchildren had an amazing time with his grandkids. If you haven't rented this cabin it is a must do!

excellent! beautiful, comfortable home and enabled us to have a wonderful time with entire family & plenty of room/bathrooms to accommodate all of us; although there was plenty of outdoor activities to involve everyone in, we enjoyed the house/view and watching the weather 'roll' in when we weren't involved in our planned commitments. Stephen was a great Host- easy to contact and really made us all feel well cared for with all the home offered! this place is a true Gem!

Best Kept Secret
I debated leaving a review. Not sure i want everyone to know what I know. I booked this property in October for the week before Christmas. The fact that it was available leads me to believe not many are in on the secret. This place is amazing, the views, the space, the design. These is no way a place could be any more perfect for our group of 12. We spent our time skiing at Wintetplace, was less than 30 mins door to door. If you find it available, book it; you won't be disappointed.

Third stay at this property, it never fails to please! My only critique would be to put reflectors along the drive up the mountain, it can be hard to see the turns at night. But the house, view, accommodations were fantastic as always.

This place was perfect for our group. It is larger than it looks in the pictures. A nice e open layout made it perfect for hanging out inside, and the expansive deck made for amazing views of the mountains. The host was nice and unobtrusive. It was a very quiet retreat. Would come back again.

Excellent, friendly Property Owner, and Property Manager.
We needed something near Winterplace for our group. This house was perfect for us. Very open with several bedrooms and bathrooms. You do need to be aware of the mountain and getting up however Steve cam down at 10:45 pm and helped us find our way up.

The views from the property were incredible. Stephen was great showing us around and helping with the WiFi. Plenty of room to relax and spread out, as well as gather together. This place is perfect for large groups, who enjoy an out of the way location with spectacular views.

Lovely Mountain Top Home in West Virginia!
Beautiful home! We surprised my daughter on her 27th birthday by inviting her friends and spending the weekend here. The directions were great.,Driving up the hill to the property was easy in our 4 wheel drive. The pictures do not do this beautiful house justice. It is very well equipped from the kitchen to the bathrooms. The decks are amazing and the views beautiful. Thank you Steve for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home. We will definitely return!

Breathtakingly Beautiful
The layout of the house was perfect for a large family, everyone could have privacy alone if they wanted it, and there was a comfortable and large open eating and sitting space to spend time together. - The large windows not only offered spectacular views of the sunset, they almost made the house solar heated which was a nice feature. The owner is SUPER nice and actually went and purchased two stove type griddle pans for pancakes.

Love this property. The road up is a bit of a climb, but so worth it. Some reflectors along some of the curves would be nice, it can be difficult if arriving after dark. But, already looking forward to staying again next year!

The accomodations were perfect for our family reunion. The was plenty of room for everyone, enough nearby acttivities that we could all do what we enjoy. The driveway is alittle steep and loose gravel but still workable. We all had a great time and would rent this facility again!

17 and counting
My family (17 adults and children) spent 6 days. The house had plenty of space and very convenient to Pipestem State park. The views were spectacular especially in the evenings. The house is furnished the very basics, nothing fancy, which worked for us. Be warned, there are thermostats upstairs and downstairs but only 1 AC unit.. We were there in July and the downstairs never got below 75 degrees, especially with 17 people. We loved the porch, loved going on walks and most importantly being able to all stay in one location!

Perfect place for our family reunion!
We loved our week in Mountain Ledge Inn, My Husband, four adult children. their spouses and four grandchildren plus a mother-in-law recovering from hip surgery had more than enough room to enjoy each other. An impromptu gathering of 40 relatives was no problem and a wonderful place for my mother -in-law to visit with everyone. The drive up the mountain was exciting and will be something we remember and tell stories about in the future. We will cherish the memories of our stay, the view from the balconies were stunning. Stephen the landlord was available if we needed anything - although we didn't need to call him.

Mountaintop retreat for large groups
This property is is an ideal location for groups of 10 or more. The view is breathtaking and can be enjoyed from multiple locations inside and out. Kitchen is great and well stocked. Plenty of bathrooms for everyone. Central air is key.

Beautiful!
We had my mother’s 60th birthday party here and it was a wonderful choice of venue. We have a very large family and this place easily accommodated our 40+ person party. Everyone had plenty of space to spread out and the kitchen was large enough for all of the food items we had. The views of the mountains were beautiful and the sunset was amazing! I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others!

Amazing View
We had our daughters first birthday party there and invited our families. We celebrated it in April and the weather was beautiful, we opened the doors and windows and enjoyed the view and nice breeze. I was worried about the the road up to the house but everyone made it fine including my husband’s Honda Fit! The owners were great and very accommodating. Will definitely consider renting there again.

We had a large group of church friends stay for weekend, and this place was perfect!! Great views and lots of space. The only trick is the drive up the gravel mountain road, but that's it. Stephen was an awesome host, and we're already planning another stay for next year!

The house was perfect for our Sr. High youth group. Plenty of beds and floor space to accommodate everyone, great large living room space and kitchen. Most of all, the owner was AMAZING and was there for our every need (including salting the driveway after major ice so that we could get out!).
