It was very noisy, you could year every cat walking around during the night and every conversation from the neighbors. There were also cats IN the house which was not mentioned anywhere and I am allergic to cats. Room was very humid and stuffy and all my clothes smelled bad because of that. There was a lot of clutter in the garden and the terrace.

Ricardo the owner is pleasant and accommodating. I have made a mistake on my reservation for 3 guest instead of 1 guest. He gave our son a room free of charge. The guest house has a beautiful backyard, there is a avocado tree, tangerine tree and orange tree. He had 3 beautiful cats roaming around the backyard. The place decor is ornate and comfortable. If you're visiting Belem do stay with them.

This was a delightful place to stay. It was super clean, quiet and we felt very safe, as well as parking in the area. The bathroom had a super-sized bathtub that was amazing!!! I love the fact that each room has a punch code, and that code opens the entrance door as well. I would totally stay here again.

Best location
We stayed in the annex building of Geronimo Guest House and loved it. The location could not be better, it is very close to Belem's main street by the river with all the restaurants, the Monastery, museums etc. Our room was quiet, comfortable and quite large. The owner has 3 cats and as cat people we loved it. One cat is so friendly that she will stay with you for a little while. The only improvement needed is to clean the spa tub and covered porch so they may be used.

Quite, cozy and friendly
Truly a beautiful, cozy and convenient guesthouse. We only had 1 night due to a 22 hour layover but couldn’t have found a better place and host. Easy walking distance to several sites and amazing local restaurants. Very comfortable room and we especially enjoyed the resident cat that visited our room. Spacious room opened up to a view of the backyard garden where we drank wine with other guests. In the morning there is a local rooster that crows but it added to the charm. Next time we stay for a week. Highly recommend this place.

This property is a hidden GEM! I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and the hosts are lovely. It’s truly a unique experience and would highly recommend anyone to stay here. Also as a bonus -it’s walking distance to the famous Pastéis de Belém (delicious pastries), public transport, and several historical sites.

We had a very pleasant stay in this charming, quiet and lovely place! The host was very kind and charming, the gardens were beautiful, the room was very comfortable and clean and quiet. The bathroom was freshly remodeled and large, and had French doors that opened to provide light and ventilation, so uncommon in older buildings in Portugal! The water pressure was excellent — also uncommon — and there is sister conditioning and heat in the room. We are looking forward to our next trip to Lisboa so we can stay here again! It’s a fantastic location, with beauty all around. Highly recommended!

Nice. Great location. Super welcoming
The owner greeted us when we arrived, said to use the place as if we lived there and we never saw him again, and that is not a bad thing. We were able to come and go as we pleased. It’s right around the corner from the Pastéis de Belém. The room was large. Bathroom was very large. No real place to put luggage though, but that is probably only drawback. I’m happy we selected this place

The place was charming, very clean. The courtyard was enchanting and peaceful. It was within a 5 min walk to Starbucks, restaurants and shops. Famous pastry shop. Geronimos Monastery and Belém Tower are a 5 and 10 min walk. The harbor was 10 min away with magnificent views. You can stroll along the pier and just enjoy a beautiful day in doing that. Sintra with all its wonders are nearby. would rate it a 10

The staff was excellnt from start to finish. Jorges was a delight to talk to and was very knowledgeable about the area and I liked the recommendations he made as a local. The property itself was very nice and very different from what you would expect from a chain hotel. The property was well kept and clean. Thanks for making the final leg of our trip memorable.

Our stay at the Geronimo Guest House Belém was the most pleasant surprise!! I was only here for a few days for work, but every night I was so looking forward to returning to the Guest House with its charming appointments, luxurious bubble bath and river views! Ricardo was an absolute sweetheart -- so accommodating with an early check-in and so generous with an automatic upgrade of the room! Will certainly be staying here again next time I'm in Lisbon!!

We loved our stay at Geronimo Guest House. It had beautiful rooms and a cute courtyard outside with friendly cats. The neighbourhood is quiet, walkable and it was nice to be away from the busy parts of Lisbon. Ricardo was super helpful our first night letting us know about good places to eat or things to see in the area and how to get around town. We will definitely come back to stay when we are in Lisbon again.

Jorge and Ricardo have a wonderful property and Jorge is a wonderful host. We spent time talking with him, learning some history of Portugal and just some stories he cared to share. The backyard is so tranquil you would find it hard to believe you are in the heart of Belem (a very touristy area). There is a wine bar, sandwich place that is amazing and inexpensive, a little coffee truck with great staff and products and park all within walking distance. It would be nice to have a small breakfast selection as there isn't a lot of restaurants close for a breakfast. Lunch and dinner/supper absolutely! Debbie and Shannon

This was our first time in Lisbon. Geronimo Guest House was perfect. Jorge and Ricardo were fantastic hosts right from when we checked in to when we checked out. The garden is so beautiful. The room was unique and very comfortable. You are in the heart of Belem however when you get to the guest house, it's like you've entered another place. Very quiet and serene. The ambience was a perfect introduction to Portugal. And it's very close to the Monastery as well as Belem Tower and the Discovery monument. Bus transportation is, also, close, so getting around is not difficult. Highly recommend Geronimo Guest House Belem.

From the days before arriving the host was very friendly and communicative, helping us with our questions, and especially since we were bringing our little dogs with us. Ricardo was extremely welcoming and went out of his way to help us during our arrival, with facilitating parking and giving us a hand with our many bags! The place is lovely, bright and cozy. We got the suite with the balcony and it was exactly what we needed. Comfortable, clean, decorated with good taste. Very easy to go in and out of the guesthouse and the area is beautiful to walk around with the old Monastery turned into museum (project), many options for food and drinks and the botanical garden. Don’t forget to get pasteis de Belem! We would love to stay again at Geronimo Guesthouse on our next visit to Lisbon.

The guest house is uniquely furnished with Portuguese themes. It is comfortable and our room had everything we needed. There is a lovely backyard for lounging which has a hot tub. We were met by Ricardo who was a wonderful host. He informed us about the area sites and restaurants and we enjoyed a delicious fish lunch at a local marisqueira that was reasonably priced. We would not hesitate to recommend the Geronimo Guest House to our family and friends and will be returning the next time we are in Lisbon.
