Formby Beach is less than 3 miles away and is one of Merseyside’s stunning coastal gems with red squirrels, natterjack toads, prehistoric footprints and miles of coastal walks just waiting to be discovered. Large parts are National Trust owned and the high dunes afford excellent views across the Irish Sea. As well as being well known for its wildlife and nature reserve, Formby is also a great spot for shopping and eating out. Formby town centre is home to a variety of bars and restaurants, together with both high street names and independently run shops. For any golfers, Formby Golf Club is one of the world’s finest Championship links golf courses, and for those organising a golfing trip, there are three more Open Championship venues in close proximity, Royal Birkdale, Royal Liverpool, and Royal Lytham.
