More like a last option
We stayed there for one night as our final stop in US. Overall nice place, the lady that checked us in was really friendly so big thank you! Location is great and nice patio. The minus would be how hot it gets in the pods, some of the staff and the fact that I got rashes on my body after the visit. So bedbugs may be a bigger issue.. When we checked out the guy in the desk barely looked up from his phone and didn’t say much so that could improve..

An acceptable option
Overall, I can’t complain too much. It wasn’t the cleanest place. According to the photos, it looked to be a better environment than it was once I arrived. Definitely needs some maintenance upkeep.

the worst experience I’ve had being on this earth. First let’s start out with the check-in.. you don’t know whether to go to the fence or go to the door on the side, your Uber will be just as confused as you are. I was greeted at the gate about 5 minutes after ringing the bells… if the man that worked the front didn’t come out to grab me I would’ve never know how to get in for check in. You go through the back area into the “podshare” a huge wood cabin that was basically terribly designed and everything is made from wood. You have a mattress a sheet and what they think is a blanket but it’s actually another sheet. TVs don’t work. All the furniture inside and outside are dirty as hell. Also all wood and both the bed and outside are infested with bugs. I spent an entire night fighting off bugs and still got bit all over I’m currently suffering from the one night stay tremendously I ended up in the emergency the next day and left the podshare right away.Another 24 hours in hell was not necessary. I was treated and given meds and have to spend the rest of my vacation with my face neck arms back and legs covered in bites. Not how I expected vacation to go. All the staff were notified of my incident and they played telephone with the information and watched me in pain until I told them&showed them what had happened. I was then told “I’m sorry we are getting heat treatment done soon we don’t know what people have coming” I was refunded but that doesn’t make up for the pain at all.

Wouldnt stay again.
Maybe in its prime this place was nice, it has a good idea, but its unfortunatly past its prime and terribly maintained. For the price it was totally not worth it, might as well pay a little more and get something nicer and actually be able to sleep, or pay nothing and sleep on the beach. It is one of those places where you avoid touching anything. For like 25 people there are 3 bathrooms, one with out a door, one that is covered in urine and one with no toilet paper. Nice. If im going to macdonalds just to use the bathroom, and cant sleep due to the fans which make the place sound like a factory at night, what am i actually paying for? If you have a car your better off sleeping in it then coming here.
They really should just throw out that ping pong table..

I have never experienced such a horrible hostel experience in my many travels. The online pictures were much brighter and cleaner than in reality...dark, dirty, filthy kitchen, rundown furniture and bedding, lumpy mattress, no privacy to change, bathrooms had no noise barriers, as bathroom doors were louvered wood, allowing all bodily functions (urinating, deficating, farting, vomiting...yes, we heard it all, at all hours of the night) to be heard clearly by all. Quiet hours, which were posted and communicated as 10pm, were not followed, with cooking and stomping around the place past 2am. The smell of weed and some who were clearly under the influence of substances, was evidenced. We did not feel safe and did not sleep at all. When we tried to explain and asked to cancel, or give a partial refund, the management refused and mocked and gas lighted our concerns, saying the man who was puking and using the kitchen after midnight probably had a stomach ache and was making a bite to eat to settle their stomach. They offered to move us to a different location that was far from where we needed our accommodations. We asked if we could bless 2 other women to use our paid pod for the remaining 10 days and they refused that as well and would not speak in person on a phone call...all communication done by text, ending with their manager, sending a smiley face and telling us to have a good day. Not the best nights sleep
The location was good, but the mattress was very worn out and uncomfortable. They played rain sounds all night which I thought was just noisy and made it hard to sleep rather than the soothing effect they intended. There was also a rule against hanging towels in front of your bed for privacy which I've never seen in any hostel before.

Lovely, low-key, respectful experience. Very well equipped with all the necessary items including coffee, dishes, fridge and stove, shampoo, body wash etc. I felt totally comfortable and safe. I was well-accepted even though I am 40 or 50 years older than most of the guests. Well-situated… close to beach in one direction and shopping in the other. A shining example of a friendly, well-equipped, well-situated hostel experience.

Sadly, the bathrooms in this place were filthy. There were roaches, shower area was not thoroughly maintained and layers of dust/dirt in the vents. The beds were clean but there were tv screens dangling off the wall making it hard to sleep comfortably. The location is good and I'm confident this place can turn itself around eventually.

Nobody was there to check me in or get me the door code in a timely manner even though I said when I’d be arriving (6pm, not crazy). But most of all, I woke up covered in bedbugs. Do not stay here. I did not have such a negative experience at other podshare locations.

The location is great if you wanna go to the beach or Santa Monica. The property itself feels safe too. There is only three very small rest and washrooms for a large group of people though which is why they quickly seem dirty. Also, something we didn’t research enough before: there is not a lot of privacy. The stuff is super friendly and helpful!

PodShare Venice was very well maintained (except for some mice). The staff regularly cleaned the common spaces and ensured people staying kept areas clean. However, because there was open food left in the kitchens (to share) and one person staying was staying long term with a lot of stuff piled up against a wall, there was a mouse living very comfortably next to my bunk in the wall of belongings. The staff were kind enough to let me move bunks in the middle of the night, but I heard the mouse the next day even though the area was cleaned up a bit. If disregarding the mouse, it was an excellent hostel-type setting, and really appreciated the quite hours (10pm - 10am) and cleanliness of the areas.

Ein super modernes Hostel mit tollen Baderäumen und einem großen Garten mit vielen Sportmöglichkeiten. Nur der Check In war etwas holprig weil uns 30 Minuten das Tor nicht geöffnet wurde. Betten waren sehr gemütlich und der Rest der Unterkunft sehr sauber. Auf Nachruhe wird stark geachtet.

It’s a cool spot and it’s nice. Wish it was a little bit more cleaner and closed. Flies are a lil common but I had bug spray. Also I work nights when I was leaving I saw a rat by the stove in the back. I wouldn’t mind staying here again though. It’s a super chill and good vibes place. The cleaning and pest control can be taken care of within a few hours in my opinion so it’s nothing major.

I didn't like how I got a skin rash from the moment I lay on the bed. Front Desk was super friendly and helpful, but management/supervisor was bad.

Hi Yuyuan. My name is Devin and I am the manager of Venice podshare. I'm sorry that you didn't have a pleasant experience with us however I don't feel we did anything wrong and I think your review is unfair. You didn't speak to me at all about your rash you spoke to our reservation team and you admitted to them that you have sensitive skin. It's not our fault that you have sensitive skin and got a rash. In the future I would recommend bringing your own linen with you that doesn't irritate your skin and/or bringing detergent with you and asking if we can wash your sheets with your own detergent that doesn't irritate. Had you have asked me that I would have been more than happy to comply. Or had you have asked to speak to me I would have suggested doing that. But you didn't. You just said that you wanted to check out because you got a rash and asked for a refund that goes against our policy. Again I'm sorry about the bad experience! Take care! :)

Bad stay with bed bugs
This place is filthy and infested with bed bugs. The first night i got a dozen bed bug bites. Devin and the property refused to do anything to resolve the matter. Don't trust this property with your stay. It is overpriced, filthy and infested. The pictures are not an accurate representation of the pods.
