Perfect as always
Kathy's and Phil's heaven on earth never disappoints. Our stay was too short but while we were here we could not have been happier. Everything was perfect. Although the weather was a bit chilly, we were able to stay warm snuggled up in furry blankets and entertained with good books to read and movies to watch. Their well appointed kitchen made going out unnecessary, so we just stayed in a chilled. Best get-a-way yet! Thank you to our wonderful hosts! Fondly, Susan and Alan

Like a Mediterranean Paradise!
Kathy and Jeff's pool house home was amazing! The hosts thought of everything; from bottle openers to muffin pans, from cotton balls to make-up wipes, from plush bathrobes to ample bath towels, from a beach cooler to suntan lotion to beach/pool towels, from secure parking to jumper cables, from Tempur-pedic beds to a wireless sleep tracker, from a hanging punching bag to a smart fitness/work-out mirror, AND even cold drinks and fresh fruit upon arrival! THEY PROVIDED IT ALL - without any extra fees. With gardens, pool, gazebo, hot tub, barbeque grill, fire pits, festive night lighting, numerous sitting and lounging areas, it truly is a garden retreat - A perfect escape from Hollywood. The interior of the VRBO home rivaled the grounds. Each room had double French doors opening to the manicured grounds, providing that renowned CA indoor-outdoor living. The two bedrooms were spacious and provide ample hanging and drawer space. Each bedroom had a swiveling TV and remote. The living room had a large 60 inch TV, soft seating, a desk, and decorative lighting. The full kitchen was equipped with a toaster oven, a Keurig Coffee Maker with a grand selection of K cups, a toaster, microwave, full refrigerator with ice maker, oven and stove, dual sinks and dishwasher. Packaged foods such as oatmeal, pasta, tomato sauce, crackers, and dried soups stocked the pantry. The hosts could not have been friendlier, or more accommodating. Love them, love the place, love VRBO! The Best Ever!!

Post surgery respite
We were looking for a nice quiet place with 2 bedrooms and a kitchen that had some outdoor space for us to enjoy after my son had surgery while also working remotely during the week. The cottage was perfect. Kathy thought of everything that you might want while you are away including toiletries and snacks and coffee. The extra large and soft towels, robes and slippers made the place feel like we were staying in luxury accommodations while the blankets available in the living room to put over us while we watched tv in the evening made us feel at home. We cooked in some nights and had everything we needed and also enjoyed adventuring to places near by to eat out. It was an easy trip to Santa Monica, the Getty and Malibu for some fun adventures. The only complaint I had was that I had was that it was a little too cool out for me to go swimming. I will definitely enjoy the pool and spa next time. Kathy and Phil were also wonderful hosts. Surgery Rehab Retreat
We spent 12 days in the pool house while my daughter recovered from knee surgery. Our hosts made every effort to make our stay comfortable and easy for recovery. The home is incredibly well stocked with everything you could ever need. It is clean and comfortable and I couldn’t have asked for more! The garden and pool area are lovely and provide such a nice place to relax. Thank you, Kathy and Phil, for a providing such a wonderful home.

Return to An Oasis!!!

Fabulous find!!!!
This is a gem of a place in a busy city. Quiet, peaceful and safe. The hosts Kathy and Phillip were friendly, professional and caring. The pool house was comfortable and COMPLETELY STOCKED!!! Best medicine cabinet I have ever seen!!! We were there for a month and so happy we found this place. They made us feel like family but at the same time we had our privacy!!! Kathy goes the extra mile and even had outdoor activities for my 5 year old grandson including soccer ball and nets, baseballs, whiffle balls, bats, bases to run, giant bowling set and safe magnetic darts!!!! I recommend this property 200% and cant wait to stay again. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!!

Private Pool House Hideaway
The perfect little oasis in Northridge/Sherwood Forest. This is the most well-equipped place you will find. It is a stand-alone pool house behind the main house with a large pool in between. BBQ, flat screen TV's, gated entry and comfortable accommodations. Would definitely stay here again. Phillip and Kathy were the perfect hosts.

Best ever
I didn't want to leave! I loved everything about this property and we enjoyed every minute. Just wished we had more days to stay there. Kathy is A+++ super host and so thoughtful, kind, generous, detailed, and organized. I love her taste in decor. We chose this property based on the reviews and it is exactly as everyone says. A home away from home !
What a wonderful place to stay ! We’ve had the warmest welcome, sodas & wine in the fridge, snacks & all kinds of supplies are all complimentary. So no need to rush to the store when you arrive. The pool and jacuzzi, the backyard, the patio, ... everything is so nicely decorated and just a great place to hang out together as a family or with friends. The location is also perfect : easy to reach, safe & secure parking, perfect for visiting Hollywood, Santa Monica, universal Studios, Griffith observatory, ... close to Burbank airport as well. And it’s a great place to hang out in case you don’t feel like driving around because this place has everything you need. Having a coffee in the morning by the pool, enjoying the birds singing, looking at the hummingbird and the squirrel (only saw it at 9 am :-) !) - what a great way of starting the day. Kathy gave us plenty of tips & tricks for visiting, restaurants, ... she’s a wonderful person and we ABSOLUTELY LOVED our stay (didn’t want to go home :-))

Wonderful Place
What’s not to love about this place. Every picture posted and every description is accurate. We were 2 couples traveling together and this was a great location for our home base while we were in town for a wedding and visiting the L.A. area. Kathy and family are wonderful hosts. The pool house has everything one would need. They have it stocked with things in case you’ve forgotten anything or even need a snack. Many special touches have been made to make you feel comfortable. Two bedrooms with space to hang clothes or put in drawers. We utilized both since we were there for 8 nights. Also, very convenient was the washer and dryer. It was so nice to be able to go home with little dirty laundry. The kitchen is stocked with many things!! We found the inside to be very relaxing. The outside is more than relaxing. We had breakfast by the pool almost every morning, enjoyed swimming late morning, and then we would enjoy having a glass of wine while talking and listening to music by the pool at night. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! We enjoyed the owners, their property, and their communication with you is top notch. All four of us highly recommend this property.

Very Serene Setting
We stayed from July 9-14. Owners were nothing but nice and very helpful. The pool is beautiful! Great place to have a glass of wine in the evening by the firepit or a cup of coffee in the morning. They went above and beyond by supplying shampoo, soaps and many other toiletry items like a fine hotel. The bedrooms were a bit warm on the 95+ degree days and they were nice enough to bring extra fans out for us. Would definitely stay here again if ever in LA area again. Thanks Kathy and Phil for a wonderful stay!!

The property was beautiful and well kept. We felt safe being within a gated property. Even though we were close to the main house, it felt very private. Lovely relaxing haven in Los Angeles
We are just home from a wonderful stay at this property. It is very central in LA and is such a relaxing place to hang out after a long day in the city. The backyard area is lovely, so many seating spaces to relax in and the hot tub was a welcome treat almost every day of our vacation. The home is well set up. The beds were comfortable and the shower was powerful with as many towels and shampoos as you need. The owner is very generous in providing a ton of little things you might need while staying with them and I took advantage of a toothbrush and razor I had forgotten to pack, We cooked dinner and breakfast there most days and there were sufficient items in the kitchen to allow us to do this. We relaxed in the living room each night after returning home with plenty of sofa space and blankets to be cozy. Finally the owners were friendly and welcoming. They were close by in the main house and made themselves available if we needed them but otherwise left us to ourselves. While we were there, we visited the Hollywood sign, Universal Studios, Reagan library, Santa Monica, Brentwood and Westwood and all were possible within about 30 minutes drive, so very accessible.

Home Away From Home
We spent the holidays in this pool house. Being from Minnesota it was a real treat to have so much outdoor living space...lots of options to sit in the warm sun during the day, and warm up at night with fire tables everywhere. The house itself was very nice with every imaginable need met. If it wasn’t all you had to do was say so and Kathy would bring it right over. We were there during an unusually cold period. There is a heating and cooling unit in the living dining area, but Kathy brought over two standalone heaters, one for the bathroom and one for the bedroom. Made everything toasty! I mentioned toward the end of our stay that I had come down with a cold. She brought over a little steamer with some vapo-rub. Thanks Mom! Very comforting even though I couldn’t get the steamer to work. My bad. We typically stay in smaller vrbos while in LA, but his time we had our family Christmas here. Plenty of room for 4 people (3 sleeping there) to comfortably settle in. Highly recommend!

Peace and serenity in the city
I don’t know where to begin but let me preface that this was our first time using this type of site. We stayed five nights over the Thanksgiving holiday visiting family in the immediate area. When we arrived we were warmly greeted by the owner Kathy. We secured our parking spot and unloaded into the pool house. Take the word pool house totally out of the equation, this little villa is the size of most condos where I live (Boston) it’s perfectly appointed, roomy and very clean. You walk through the gardens and multiple seating areas past a beautiful pool and you are in the back of this family’s compound. You have zero street noise and you feel like you are in the burbs. Both bedrooms are very user friendly with comfortable beds, nice linens and lots of pillows. Ample closet space and drawers in both rooms. The bathroom is great if there are mobility issues as the shower is very roomy and floor level. The kitchen is modern and you are provided with every conceivable appliance, dish, bakeware that you could imagine and we took advantage of this for the holiday. All rooms have TVs and great cable. The icing on the cake however was the availability of literally anything you may have forgotten toiletry wise, and by anything I mean anything. She also leaves the kitchen stocked with all the condiments, breakfast items, tea/coffee, and snacks so you need not run to the store immediately. There were so many little extras I could not list them all. She checked with us a few times during our stay but otherwise we never felt like we were intruding in their life or ours, I will def be a returning guest and I’m grateful this family was my first experience in home share

First Time
I loved the overall stay. I just wished I had the opportunity to meet the owner like other guests. Not being greeted in person, made me feel a little unwelcome. Despite the neglect of an introduction, the owner always was available via phone and addressed all my needs and wants rapidly. I would defiantly book this property again. Hopefully I'll get a introduction next time.

Beyond amazing!
The owners, Kathy & Phil were the most gracious and down to earth host. There is nothing left wanting with this property. If your looking for that quiet, kick back, unwind retreat, this is it. Gorgeous, Cozy Hideaway near LA
We had an excellent stay!! The property is clean and beautifully decorated. We had wonderful outdoor spaces to hang out in and we had the pool to ourselves most of the time. The beds are high quality and very comfortable. The owners couldn’t have been nicer. I couldn’t recommend the property more highly!!

Home away from home
We loved our stay at Kathy's guesthouse. She's a stellar hostess providing everything one needs when away from home. Even her 2 rescue dogs came by to visit occasionally - always on their best behavior. The property is lovely with its many roses and other flowers and the guesthouse is quite roomy. The upgraded shower heads were heavenly. As my friend said: it was the icing on the cake of our L.A. trip to return to such a comfortable space after our daily excursions. Would go back again to stay when visiting family and friends in the Valley and nearby. Thanks, Kathy!
