Exceptional Experience in Lovely Malibu
Beyond our expectations! The apartment of this beautifully constructed home is spacious, well appointed, and floods with light from the balcony view of the ocean. The location in western Malibu, is serene, and puts you minutes from miles of stunning canyon hikes. A new adventure in nature every day! You are close enough (45 minutes) from the bustle of Santa Monica and beyond, but we rarely ventured beyond the easy-to-access grocery/pharmacy, Neptune's Net and Malibu Seafood. Our host was super kind and responsive, yet otherwise invisible. After years of VRBO, this is our very favorite!

Einfach toll!
Wunderschöne und sehr gepflegte Ferienwohnung, Küche ist voll ausgestattet, Kaffee und einige Grundnahrungsmittel waren vorhanden. Strandtücher und Strandstühle waren ebenfalls da. Vom Balkon aus hat man einen wunderschönen Blick auf's Meer. Unkomplizierter Check-in, als Willkommensgruß gab es eine Flasche Wein - alles perfekt! Die mit Abstand beste Unterkunft auf unserer Rundreise, leider waren wir hier nur für 2 Nächte, wir wären gerne länger geblieben.

California Paradise
The Mermaid House is absolutely beautiful! We had a (short) but wonderful stay at this Malibu gem on our way up the PCH to Santa Barbara. Next time, we for sure plan to stay longer as the location is perfect (you can walk to the beach and also through the neighborhood to Neptune Ned’s), the condo is immaculate, and the view of the ocean from the spacious balcony can not be beat! We highly recommend the Mermaid House and plan to stay there again!

A wonderful place to relax and recharge!
We were here for a weekend attending a family wedding. We wished we could have stayed longer! This is a beautiful, peaceful and very comfortable property with an excellent location and view! The hosts made sure we had everything we needed to feel pampered--very comfortable bed, soft sheets and quilt, robes, wine, snacks, coffee, tea.

Stunning
The location is wonderful. I was on my way to the airport after a trip to the Channel Islands and needed a nice stopover. This was perfect! The apartment is stunning with an equally amazing view. I enjoyed coffee on the patio while watching the ocean and the birds that love the garden in front of the house.

I'm not sure why the photos don't do this apartment justice (they're accurate), but this place is better in person. Wonderful balcony with ocean views, a gas fireplace, suitcase stand, and a welcome bottle of wine made this apartment a gem of a find. Beach and one restaurant (Neptune's Nest) are walking distance, everything else is a drive. Very close to Grotto Trail as described on modern walker site.

Lovely Mermaid House

A beautiful setting with awesome Pacific sunset views!
We recently rented The Mermaid House for three nights while in CA visiting relatives. It was just the relaxing and beautiful setting that we were hoping it would be. The apartment was fully appointed and we especially appreciated the coffee, tea and oatmeal for breakfast. The bottle of wine upon our arrival was perfect, as we could marvel at the sun setting over the Pacific as we sipped our wine on the balcony. We liked the quiet location, yet easy access to restaurants and shops. Having a fireplace for the chilly evenings was an added bonus. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen fully equipped. Having a washer and dryer gave us flexibility on packing. Barbara was great to work with and made everything very easy.

A piece of heaven
Had a wonderful stay at Mermaid House! The setting is so beautiful with a stunning view of the ocean. Close enough to LA but far enough away to be in your own paradise. Would recommend to anyone looking for a true getaway.

Slice of heaven
The most amazing stay ever! Barb is a fantastic host with wine, coffee and snacks. House is incredible with views of the ocean beautifully decorated and cozy. Close to beach and Neptune’s net. I wanted to cry when it was time to go home. I am making plans to go back soon.

Super Lage, toller Ausblick! Man fühlt sich sofort wie zu Hause in dieser liebevoll eingerichteten Ferienwohnung. Nur 5 Minuten läuft man zum County Line Beach, der vor allem bei Surfern und Kitesurfer beliebt ist. Ein Strand reiht sich an den nächsten, sodass jeder seinen Lieblingsstrand finden wird. Hervorragend geeignet für einen längeren Aufenthalt bevor oder nachdem man die umliegenden Nationalparks erkundet (hat).

Amazing little gem in Malibu!!
The condo was absolutely beautiful and had everything we needed for the couple of days we were in Malibu. Although we did not cook any meals, the kitchen was well equipped and the complimentary snacks and bottle of sparkling wine were a wonderful treat!! The condo was also well supplied with everything we needed for the beach including chairs, umbrellas, beach towels, cooler and ice packs for the cooler. The balcony and view were spectacular and we wish we could have stayed longer!!!

What a spot!
We spent the weekend but wished we could have spent more time here! The unit was spacious and comfortable and the location was perfect. It is located on a quiet neighborhood street just off the PCH and close enough to have amazing views and access to the ocean. The Johnson's have thought of everything you will need to ensure you are comfortable. I would highly recommend a staying here.

Beautiful views and very relaxing
This is a very spacious, relaxing space with lovely views of the Pacific. A large balcony overlooks palm trees and sea. The owner provides extra goodies to eat and drink, a welcoming treat. I would highly recommend this spot for a few days.

Cozy mermaid cottage with white water surf views
This is a property built by the owners as a mother-in-law place, with much nicer amenities than a "typical" rental. Quiet and private, with beautiful Spanish tilework, lovely deck with ocean views, kitchen made for cooking (but convenient to heat up leftovers from really good restaurants nearby). We wished we had booked a longer stay, but we'll be back!

Picture Perfect
***Just spent 4 days/3nts at the fabulous Mermaid House with my husband and son. This exquisitely appointed casita was exactly what we needed to soak in the Malibu coastline. Every amenity was first class and the panoramic views were spectacular. The Bradley Bunch's hospitality made our visit over our 4th of July - superb. Close by Vintage Grocers, although pricey had an impressive culinary assortment for the pickiest foodie. Neptune's Net was a "go to" for take out for our first night. Perfect property and location
We stayed at this property for a week. It was perfect. The balcony gave us a great view of the ocean. Miss Barbara was an excellent host. Her promptness in addressing our communications with her was greatly appreciated. The size of the unit was perfect for my husband and I. We were impressed with the wine and treat basket she had for us, as well as the beach chairs, umbrella, icechest , travel size sunscreen, shampoo, conditioner and soaps in the unit. The owners also live on site and were friendly but also respectful for our privacy. Thank you dad much Miss Barbara and family for a perfect week in Southern California.
