Dreamy cottage
We loved our quick weekend stay! Close to the beaches and the Getty Museum, this little cottage was romantic and sweet. The property is beautiful and the owners are friendly and welcoming. One night stay
We came to visit Santa Monica Pier. I was with my daughter and her friend. This rustic little place was clean and comfortable. The check in was very detailed. Milo is very friendly and proud of his home. This cottage is in the back yard behind a main house. Depending on your taste this place may mot be for travelers who like privacy or little to no interaction with their host. My daughter and her friend enjoyed the hot tub. Milo came to check on them several times and told them some good stories. They said that they felt they were vacationing with Milo.

This cottage is stunning!
One of those unique gems that exceeds expectations. While the pictures are accurate, they don’t do the place justice. The setting and architecture whisk you away to the European countryside and make you forget that you’re in the middle of Los Angeles. I’ve stayed in the English Cotswolds and this cozy cottage would have fit right in there. In addition, the owners Beth and Milo were more than hospitable and made sure I️ had everything I needed for my stay. They couldn’t have been more accommodating and flexible. I️ have stayed in dozens of rentals - this has been my best experience. I frequent LA often and hope to revisit this cottage as soon as my travels allow. Thank you Beth & Milo for sharing your beautiful space with the rest of us!

A great hideaway in LA
I stayed here while dropping my son off at UCLA. It was perfect. Very clean and comfortable and close to restaurants, the highway, etc. The unit is behind the main house, but it is still private. The host was very helpful and easy to connect to. Best of all the bed was as amazing. I would stay here again.

You must stay here!
We loved this cottage and will stay here on every future visit. I have never seen such a clever, well-planned and charming space. You will not need anything. Milo has thought of every detail. He was a gracious and fascinating host and a wealth of information. Absolutely no issues with parking on the street. There was always a spot. This is a nice neighborhood.

Perfect Storybook Stay

Our stay was great. The amenities were comfortable. Milo greeted us and was very helpful with recommendations for various places. The pool was chilly but nice to sit and put our feet in after a long day of touring LA. We would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful Property / Strange Host
The property was beautiful, the beds were comfy and the pool was a lovely addition. The property is near the freeway and in the flight path of LAX--which you only notice if outside. While the property was lovely, I wouldn't stay there again. The host Milo was often outside (& super chatty) if we were outside, so it didn't feel like we had much privacy if we were outside of the villa. And he also made an inappropriate comment to my friend about "chasing her" if "he were younger."

Superbe séjour
Nous avons passé 10 jours très agréables. Les prestations sont fidèles à la description et aux photos. Le quartier est calme, avec plusieurs transports à proximité ainsi que des commerces. Milo, notre hôte, a été très accueillant, serviable et à l'écoute... et les oranges du jardin étaient délicieuses ! Nous n'avons malheureusement pas pu profiter de la piscine car la météo n'était pas très clémente pour un mois de juin. Dommage ! Peut-être à notre prochaine visite.

Wonderful stay, perfect location
We had a wonderful stay! Beth and Milo were so kind, amazing hosts. Milo gave us the grand tour and answered all our questions and gave recommendations for the area. It was super clean, quiet and close to everything. The beds were comfortable and although we didn’t have time to swim, the pool was beautiful to look at and there were flowers and fruit trees everywhere. It was so peaceful and perfect!

Eight Perfect Days--and One Fabulous Hot Tub
Sunlight streaming in the windows, orange trees shading the yard, and just the perfect intimate oasis. Such nice energy all around. Milo and Beth were attentive and lovely hosts. We had a peaceful week with restorative dips in the hot tub -- and easy access to great restaurants. The neighborhood is wonderfully walkable--with groceries and coffee close by.

Perfect LA vacation pied a terre!
Milo and Beth are kind, attentive, helpful, and a pleasure to know. The accommodations were spotless and charming and comfortable and quiet . We loved the hot tub. The location was wonderful as we were near all shopping and a very short ride to Venice and Marina del Rey. We would return in a heartbeat. Thank you, our new friend, Milo. very nice stay with caveat
We had a very nice stay at Milo and Beth's property. Their pool house is comfortable, clean, has nice necessities and amenities, well located in a safe, quiet location, and has ample parking. As a party of a couple and 2 friends, we made do with the sleeping arrangements. Communication ahead of our stay was excellent. I'm sure you are looking to book your stay based on the photos; sure enough the pool house more than lives up to them. The quaint ambiance was just what we wanted for our brief escape to LA. Our caveat is that, as other reviewers have alluded to, you will interact with the host to a degree beyond what you may expect or be comfortable with. In spite of being a well-travelled group who have stayed in many shared arrangements in the past, we found that his hosting style was overbearing at times. As a result, we found ourselves being pointed to a degree we didn't necessarily want to be. He also made some inappropriate comments. He was not ill-intentioned, but the comments expressing his views on COVID, our group arrangement, gender roles, and even physical appearances were not professional or necessary, and made us uncomfortable. Don't get me wrong - he is a very kind host who truly wants to make your stay comfortable. If you are looking for a lot of interactions with the host, perhaps you'll enjoy this aspect of your stay. However, his hosting style is certainly not for everyone. All that said, thank you Beth and Milo!

Nice place to stay, pool looks better in photos
The host was very friendly and easy to work with. The house itself was nice, clean, and as pictured. The bed was comfortable and the house was a nice size for 2 people. The location was convenient for going to Santa Monica pier/beach and was not difficult to get to other areas of LA either. The neighborhood felt safe. The pool and hot tub area looked better and cleaner in the photos online. The slide did not appear like it could be used. It is likely partially the time that we were in town and the host said there was a windstorm prior to our arrival, but the pool and hot tub water did not appear clean. I understand that the hot tub could be turned on and filtered at request, but did not appear to be regularly filtered, which seemed unusual to me. I would recommend this as a place to stay if you are not interested in the pool area as the space other than the pool was clean, comfortable, and had everything that was needed for a nice stay.

Perfect location for going to Malibu, West Hollywood and Santa Monica. Easy to park. Beds comfortable. They had coffee and tea and plenty of supplies. Beth and milo were very nice. We loved the donut shop they recommended. We had a great stay at their beautiful home.

LA Retreat

Close to Just About Everything LA
The location is perfect to get to so many attractions in LA. Good for sleeping and going. Not a place that I would spend time lounging and hanging out. The shower and bathroom were unique and, water pressure was unbelievable. As with many VRBOs, limited bath towels and outlets to charge devices. Pool and hot tub looked dilapidated. Very safe and quiet neighborhood near a school. Parking is directly in front on the main house. Do not recommend for individuals with any mobility issues. Loose rug, and the bathroom floor just never dried. The bed is against two walls, so it is challenging getting in and out.Hosts were very nice , and communication was excellent. I highly recommend The Laugh Factory. Skip the Citadel Outlet mall. The original Farmer's Market in LA is a must visit. A huge variety of foods and sweets. Tar pits were fascinating. Parking in LA and Santa Monica is very affordable and there is an abundance of garages and lots. I would recommend taking a tour of LA early in your trip, and you get a taste of different attractions. Then you can go back of something interests you.

Thank you for your review, Christy! We enjoyed hosting your stay and are so glad you had a good time in LA. We just wanted to point out that we had terrific rainstorms around the time of your stay. The backyard has a private getaway feel because of the lush vegetation, but the downside is that when it rains, there can be a lot of leaves requiring clean up. We maintain the pool and outdoor area every day, but if it's raining (especially in winter), we wait until the rain stops to turn the pool back to its purer state. Re: hot tub. Unlike fiberglass hot tubs, ours is made of stone and concrete and does not have a cover because of aesthetics. But please know that when guests request the hot tub all of the water gets heated and filtered to crystal-clear purity. The process takes about 15 minutes. Our water filter uses a state of the art, eco-friendly system with silver and copper ions, ozone along with a robust filtration system that makes the water super-soft, effervescent and virtually palatable.

An oasis!
We loved everything about this property. It was so charming, and the hosts were so helpful not only in teaching us everything about the cottage, but also about the neighborhood which is a wonderful part of Los Angeles. Very comfortable very well. Set up very clean. Will definitely stay there again.

A Los Angeles Oasis!
We loved our time at the cottage. From the scent of lavender in the air, to the superb amenities (a stone-walled shower?!) it was truly like stepping into a cottage in a little Tuscan village. The energy in the space is great! Milo is very friendly and always available to help or chat. He had great recommendations for food in the area and made sure we had a real lay of the land. We can’t wait to come back and stay again!

Safe & Comfortable
The owners we're wonderful to us. Very accommodating. Knows area and place to go well. The hot tub was my friend. This place is close to every direction you want to go and visit. Cute little Tuscan guest house
We picked the area due to the proximity to our children’s apartments. The location was easy access to what we needed and where we were headed. Milo and Beth are very nice and welcoming. Milo gave us the grand tour and is very helpful with any activities you may be interested in doing. He really knows the LA area. Their quaint Tuscan style cottage is a pleasant stay. The bed is queen size. They do provide a twin daybed for extra sleeping space. Everything you need for your stay.

Beautiful and Convenient
We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful place! Everything was nice and clean. The place had everything we needed and it was close to highways, LAX, stores and restaurants. We enjoyed the hot tub and our son had toys to play with. Milo and Beth were very helpful and quick to answer questions and get you what you need. We highly recommend staying here!

Great stay
We really enjoyed our stay. We didn't meet Beth during our week, but felt like we had A LOT of time with Milo. This is a very cozy, intimate place, but be aware that there is little privacy. The owners can see into your space at all times and vice versa. If you are outside using the grill, pool, or hot tub, Milo will check in to make sure you are using it appropriately. On the flip side, Milo is a wealth of knowledge about the area and also some other really cool stories. Great place and would stay again.

Exceeded Expectations - Wonderful Hosts
The shower experience! Visually we were taken to another world. Decoratef so well, we believed we were in Italy. Milo and Beth are wonderful people, who pride themselves in giving a truly magical experience for their guests. Milo was a joy to talk to, and so accommodating. He gave excellent recommendations for things to do and see, and places to eat in the area. The hot tub is one of a kind, with lavender essential oils. It was so relaxing. We loved just leaving all the windows open while sleeping and showering. What a wonderful time we had here, and really didn't want to leave. Can't wait to come back again!
