Warm welcome, excellent cottage, beautiful setting
Huggins Cottage is one of the loveliest places we've stayed, and by far the best cared for. We were made to feel welcome every step of the way, from booking to leaving. Very thoughtfully equipped kitchen, and house generally, with very comfortable beds. Bookshelves included a wealth of information about the area. Matthew and Laura, as well as being welcoming, were informative and helpful about what to see locally. It is a stunning area, many beautiful walks. For instance, up to Lee Hill is a great day's walk from the cottage, or down to the wonderful pub at Bennetts End is a nice evening stroll. (Thanks for including a torch, it was certainly needed on those dark lanes!) Amazing views from the upper rooms and the garden towards the Malverns across the valley.

A lovely small cottage
A very nice small cottage, spotlessly clean. Lovely quiet location, with a great view, and convenient for Ludlow and Clee Hill. Good pub food only 10 mins walk. Very warm and friendly welcome from the hosts - thanks very much for the eggs!

Wonderful stay

Cosy cottage near Ludlow
The property is small, but maintained and presented beautifully. The owners are extremely welcoming, and knowledgeable about the area. It was lovely to see wildlife on the lawn so close to the cottage.

Lovely cottage
Very happy for the six weeks as we were here a long time would of preferred a comfortable sofa to sit on , as found the little chairs a bit uncomfortable and not really high enough at the back for your head, apart from that was perfect .

A Little Gem
Set high in the Shropshire Hills Huggins Cottage enjoys spectacular views from its bedroom and all around it. Matthew and Laura are excellent hosts who obviously love where they live and want to share it with their guests. They provide heaps of information about local attractions and eateries and their enthusiasm is infectious. The cottage is small but cosy, skilfully renovated to a very high standard, tastefully decorated and well-equipped. The bathroom is especially impressive. We would return there in a heartbeat.

Huggins Cottage
A stunning little property in a stunning landscape, beautiful conversion from a small historic cottage. Utter peace and quiet. Nice pub a short walk away, other walks from the doorstep. Clean, tidy, fantastic shower! Not much more to say really....except would go again like a shot.

Wonderful Huggins Cottage
A warm welcome greeted us on arrival from Matthew and Laura. A lovely touch with the personalised welcome in the kitchen along with the goodies that were left for us. The cottage is finished to a high standard with a lovely garden and views. Outstanding, Amazing, Beautiful!
We stayed here for a week at the end of August to soften the blow of going back to work after six weeks off… my goodness, it did not disappoint! From the moment we arrived, Matthew and Laura made us feel so welcome. It was lovely to be greeted and then to be left to explore the cottage and garden, but it was also great to know that our hosts were there if we needed them. The cottage has so much character and was absolutely immaculate. It had everything we needed to make the time we spent there easy and enjoyable. The goodies that were left for us, were of a high quality- the best we’ve ever had. The Prosecco was very much enjoyed and the eggs, laid by the resident chickens, were fabulous! The walk in shower was amazing after a long day out walking and it was wonderful to warm our toes in front of the log burner. Where do we start with the surrounding area… the views from the bedroom window and garden are absolutely stunning! We could have sat in the garden all day just looking out at the rolling countryside… it really is an AONB! We loved being able to walk straight from the cottage and were always out for hours. Clee Hill is definitely worth walking, the views are panoramic and spectacular. On the evenings when we fancied a short walk with a pub stop, we headed for the Bennett’s End Inn. It has a quiet beer garden with lovely views. We also walked through the fields to Clee Hill Fish and Chip Shop and found the food to be delicious! Nearby Ludlow is a gorgeous town and we visited twice. There are lots of bars and restaurants and we enjoyed a meal in the Charlton Arms overlooking the river one night. Ludlow Is steeped in history; a visit to the castle is a must, if like us, you love British history. We would also recommend a visit to Croft Castle, Berrington Hall and Stokesay Castle (our favourite). We found there was so much to see and do here and to be able to come back to spend the evening in such a gorgeous cottage, was splendid. As night fell, we saw various wildlife, including rabbits and owls. By day we enjoyed watching kites and buzzards flying overhead… we always enjoyed a visit from the chickens too! It’s a nature lover’s paradise and we can’t wait to return. Thank you so much Matthew and Laura!

Great stay
Great cottage to visit south Shropshire. Everything was as described. We were welcomed by the owners, who lived next door. Plenty of information was available about the area in the cottage. Lots of National Trust and English Heritage properties in the area to visit.

Brilliant Cottage, Excellent Hosts.
We had a lovely greeting on arrival, making us feel really at home. The cottage is great and has been tastefully renovated to a very high standard, with a lot of attention to detail and is very comfortable to live with everything immaculate. The bed is excellent, bathroom with a great shower and downstairs has all you could wish for. Set in a countryside location, it is central to so many interesting places and even more interesting is the wildlife, squirrels, birds, rabbits and the chickens coming to say 'hello" If touring or coming from abroad, you will need none of the usual "gear" associated with a holiday let, it is all here, guide books, local info and even hand wash and cleaning essentials. Thank you Laura and Matthew for a great stay, Olive and Roger Clay.

Everything you could want from a staycation

A Great Place To Stay

Excellent location, beautiful property
We were absolutely stunned when we arrived at Huggins, the photos really don't do justice to the stunning scenery surrounding the cottage. The cottage itself is very cosy and clean. We were welcomed by the hosts Matthew and Laura who made sure we had everything we needed. The cottage is well supplied, and we felt very much at home. We were visited by some very friendly chickens that live there who contributed to making it a special place to stay. An excellent base for exploring the local area.

Well equipped cosy cottage, beautiful location, excellent owners
We had a great week in this lovely cottage. The owners, Matthew and Laura, are perfect hosts - attentive and helpful but respectful of privacy. The cottage has everything you could wish for and more - seemingly everything you need is there! Lovely touches included some welcome goodies, starter supplies for the wood burning stove, with all kitchen and bathroom essentials provided. The lovely garden was sheltered and nice to sit in to watch the birds and other wildlife and has fantastic views over the surrounding countryside. The antics of the 'house chickens' were fun to watch! We were able to walk (via a quiet lane & footpath) to the nearby pub for lunch (outside only at the time of our visit). Being about a 15 minute drive from Ludlow, the cottage was a perfect base for our visits to Hereford, Acton Scott Farm, the Stiperstones and Church Stretton for the Long Mynd. We would definitely consider a return visit to Huggins Cottage to explore more of Shropshire and the surrounding area.

Cosy cottage with wonderful views
What a lovely place to stay. Wonderful country views from the garden terrace. The cottage is spotless and has everything you could possibly need. The owners have really thought about everything. Perfect little cottage
Huggins Cottage is just about perfect! Matthew and Laura are great hosts and communicating with them is so easy. They are very friendly and welcoming when you arrive, but after that they leave you to enjoy your stay. Although the cottage is attached to their house, it has its own driveway and garden and the two properties are divided by hedges, so it is very private. The cottage is spotless and so well-equipped, with everything you could possibly need. The welcome goodies are a lovely touch… and the Prosecco went down very well on our first evening! If you are looking for peace and quiet, then this really is the place to go – the only sounds are the birds and the sheep! The views from the patio in the garden are beautiful. We highly recommend Huggins Cottage… and hope that we are able to go back again one day.

Had a wonderful restful stay at Huggins
The cottage is perfect if you want a quiet, relaxing stay in the countryside. Matthew and Laura are there if you need them, but you won't know they are right next door. The chickens visited us a few times and are very funny, they were eating out of my hand. Lots of birds in the garden and a couple of squirrels feeding on the peanuts. Ludlow is a lovely town and we visited the market almost every day. The cottage is perfectly placed for exploring Shropshire and Hertfordshire as well as Wales. We couldn't have had a more enjoyable time at Huggins cottage, thank you Matthew and Laura.

Perfect holiday
Lovely cottage in peaceful setting.It was well equipped and there were thoughtful extras that made us smile,such as the walking map and binoculars and the restocked bird feeders. Our hosts were attentive but not intrusive and were happy to suggest places to visit- they clearly love the area and want others to share the beautiful countryside and its attractions. We would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone wanting a lovely holiday in a comfortable cottage in glorious surroundings.We will be back!

Perfect break
We spent a wonderful week at huggins. Perfect little cottage in a beautiful setting. Immaculate attention to detail and s good base to explore the area. Highly recommend this little oasis to recharge your batteries

Sauber und ruhig
Das Haus ist gut eingerichtet und mit allem ausgestattet was wir brauchten. Es ist in einem sehr kleinem Dorf ruhig gelegen. Uns haben viele Wildtiere aber auch die Hühner vom Vermieter besucht. Vermieter wohnen nebenan aber man hat davon nichts bemerkt. Den Garten haben wir kaum genutzt (wegen schlechtem Wetter). Mattew & Laura sind sehr hilfsbereit. Kommen gerne mal wieder. Nice, tidy and peaceful with wildlife scene. Matthew & Laura are very friendly. We loved our stay and will definitely come back again one time.

lovely location in Shropshire
We booked a stay for a week in Huggins cottage, and it was lovely. The cottage was very well maintained, with everything you need to have a comfortable stay. The beds were good, the bathroom luxurary and the kitchen was well equipped. Matthew and Laura made us feeling very welcome, the complimentary basket with breakfast ingredients was so very nice. I loved the daily visit of the chickens in the garden, very funny to see how they -carefully- peeked around the corner of he hedge, and when the coast was clear then started running onto the grass to pick the seeds the birds and squirls left over. We enjoyed the surroundings and the views, and hope to come back another time.

Superb!
Charming cottage, fantastic views.The cottage is equipped with everything you need and extras. Lovely welcome pack on arrival from very friendly owners, they have thought of everything. Good quality equipment and comfy furnishings, top class cottage!

Lovely little cottage in a beautiful spot. Clean, comfortable, well appointed, and wonderful welcome
We spent 2 weeks here and from the start were not disappointed. Loads of welcome goodies, beautiful views and the silence is amazing. Went 5 times to local pub where the food was brilliant and people very welcoming. So many interesting places to visit round about.

Great place for a quiet break away with lots to do in the area.
Matthew and Laura made us feel very welcome on our arrival and offered lots of helpful suggestions for trips out that matched our interests. We loved the welcome basket with lots of treats! The cottage is in a superb location with fantastic views. Matthew and Laura have thought of all the things that people need for a comfortable holiday and topped it up with thoughtful extras such as the binoculars to watch the wildlife around the bird feeder and the neighbouring field. We loved our week here and will definitely be back!
