Spring break hiking trip
Lovely cabin with lots of open space for the kiddos and dog to run and play. Close proximity to Shenandoah National Park and Luray Caverns. Property was clean and comfortable. Guest bed was not comfortable and sags/slopes in the middle. Master bed very comfortable. Enjoyed our stay.

The two bedrooms feature the same Serta bedding. The issue this guest had was with the box spring underneath. Unknown to us the previous guest had cracked the box spring causing the mattress to sag when laying on it. We replaced the box spring immediately after hearing of this to fix the problem.

Lovely place
This is a good place to totally unplug, since there was no internet. There were plenty of cookware and dishes for when we wanted to cook. We could get to Luray or Shenandoah Park in 10 minutes, and the river in 30 min. We had lots of fun and hope to return soon.

Our Favorite Romanric Getaway!
This property is our favorite romantic getaway when visiting Shenandoah National Park and the Shenandoah River Valley in Virginia. Tucked away at the foothills of the Thornton Gap entrance to Skyline Drive, this is the perfect place to unwind and feel surrounded by nature. This cabin offers all the amenities of home with a full kitchen, spacious livingroom, 2 bedrooms and bathroom. The wrap-a-round porch and fire pit outside on 10 acres of land add to the enjoyment of your stay here in Lurray, VA

We had an excellent stay at the Fox Den Cabin. The property is exactly as described. The host was great and answered all my questions before arrival. The location is ideal to visit the Shenandoah National Park and Luray area. Highly recommend. Beware that we had no service from our cell phone providers and there is now wifi on site, but the property is equipped with a landline phone.

Great location and comfortable cabin
Fox Cabin is in a great location for visiting both Shenandoah NP and the Luray area. Very quiet and off the main roads. Pretty setting and nice porch. Well stocked kitchen. There is no WiFi or cell service so know that ahead of your visit.

Cozy cabin ideally located to visit Shenandoah National Park.
Cozy cabin with absolutely everything you could need! Close to Thornton Gap Entrance of Shenandoah NP. Loved sitting on the porch watching the deer early morning and evening. The Fox den is appropriately named as we glimpsed several foxes late every evening.

A getaway with the grandkids
The property was just what we were looking for. Secluded but handy to get back to Luray. Beautiful scenery while sitting on the relaxing porch with a choice of rockers or swing. In the evening you had a front row seat watching the fireflies ascend from the grass to the top of the trees. The inside of the house was quaint and gave a feeling to us grandparents as if we were visiting our grandparents in our youth again. Because we were with grandchildren who are addicted to the internet, it was a great plus there was none!!! Thank you for renting out this lovely property.

Wonderful cabin!
We had a great long weekend here with our dog Reggie, who loved running around the enormous yard. It’s super close to the entrance to Shenandoah yet feels very quiet and private. Everything you need for a good hiking weekend.

Darling cabin a stone’s throw away from Shenandoah!
We adored our stay in this adorable cabin. It was a perfect getaway from the city, nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge and minutes away from Shenandoah. This cabin couldn’t have worked better for my small family, with all the amenities of a proper cabin experience. Highly recommend!

Our family had an amazing time. It was the get away we needed. The house was very clean and had everything you needed for your stay. Very quiet and peaceful surroundings. All you need to do is bring yourselves and food. Erik, who is the owner of the property. Was right on top of any questions or needs that you have. He's not far away and will come and help with anything you need. Definitely will be going back.

To be fair the property's furniture and appliances are a little dated but everything was clean and functional. This property is located very near the town of luray and it is convenient to major food markets and retailers as well as various fast food outlets. We enjoyed our stay very much.

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was perfect for the two of us. It was a great location. Close to Skyline Drive and hiking. We loved the porch with the swing and the coziness of the cabin. It was clean and comfy and we slept well. Definitely recommend.

Over priced way out dated worn and tired
For what I payed per night it was like staying in a poor grandma home. Beds were worn in , bedding decor, utilities 1970s and used to death. No water for fire place, allergies beyond belief in cabin. Take our payment ang give it a spruce up. It's not even country charm it hillbilly poor. Never again. Waste of money huge disappointment. Ruined anniversary surprise.

The following review was left by Jennifer after staying with us several nights. The day AFTER she completed her stay and returned home she requested a refund explaining the cabin was more rustic than she would have liked. In good faith we issued a partial refund to cover the cost of her stay and received an email response from her thanking us for doing so. A few days after that we received a chargeback notice from VRBO stating the guest would like a full refund. At no time during her stay did Jennifer contact us or VRBO with any issues or complaints. Many of the claims in the review are misleading or inaccurate, such as worn bedding, allergies in the cabin and a lack of outside water. Obviously the review was created to support her claim for requesting a full refund which was denied. We have been in business over 15 years and do not run a one star property. This is the only review of this nature we have ever received as we pointed out to VRBO. Although it is upsetting that a guest would do this after staying at our property for several nights it is even more upsetting how VRBO has handled the review process thus far. To be fair we have requested that this review be removed and VRBO has failed to have a supervisor follow up with us after contacting them three times about this issue.

Fox Den is a good place to stay for exploring the Shenandoah Nat'l Park and nearby attractions. The home is very rustic, if you want luxury this cabin is not for you. If you want peace and quiet , here is your home away from home!

Erik was always very responsive and the cabin served all our needs. If you want to visit Shenandoah National Park, this is a great location as it's only a 10 minute drive to the Thornton Gap entrance.

Beautiful Serene Getaway!
Super private and secluded yet minutes from town. We loved playing cards and Yatzee on the deck! We needed a 5th dice for our game and actually found a spare with the other games. Saw a fox too! Only concern was how small the toilet is. If you are tall, it's a real challenge! Would recommend highly to anyone that wants to disconnect from a hectic life for a few days. WiFi/cell service kicks in about 5 miles down the road. Thanks for making us feel at home!

Overall, we loved staying here. The location is perfect for the National Park and for restaurants and for being in a very secluded spot! Loved the porch! If you have any sensitivity to perfumes then you may ask them not to spray so much freebreeze on the furniture and throws. The fireplace and turntable were not working. Bummer for the fireplace because it was one of the reasons we chose to stay here. The kitchen had everything you needed to cook. Plenty of seasoning and condiments left behind that is always so helpful! The beds were great. Slept like a baby in that mountain air! We would stay here again in a second!

Excellent mountain getaway
This is the perfect cabin getaway! The listing was very accurate and the owner provided excellent information to assist with check in. The cabin is very close to Shenandoah National Park and also fun attractions in Luray such as the Luray Caverns. You won't have internet or cell service while at the cabin, but there is a Blu-ray player and a nice fire pit to keep you entertained. I would definitely recommend this property.

Cute Cabin
Lovely cabin that as noted has NO CELL RECEPTION. Only downside it was a little further away from Shenandoah NP than I thought. Getting to some of the hikes was an hour and a half drive. If you plan on hiking a lot and covering various sides of the NP might not be a great location. Otherwise it was a great choice, and very nice to be able to disconnect from the world.

Cozy Cabin, Perfect Location!
No words can describe how much we enjoyed our stay. Even when there was a downpour which pushed back our plans for day 1, we didn't mind staying in and cozying up to a movie. We were in drivable distance to all the places we planned to go, so location was super convenient. Sure, cell service is hardly there even with 5G devices, but we didn't mind it/ rarely notices as we were more interested in the scenic views around the area. Luckily for us, the second day/night of our stay was clear from rain, for at night allowing us to see the stars on the porch while unwinding on the wood rocking chairs and swing with a warm mug of tea and hot chocolate. The dogs loved relaxing on the porch and exploring the yard. We are definitely planning on coming back to the area sometime and if this property becomes available the next time, we will be sure to book it again!

This place was perfect for our needs. Our dog loved playing fetch and exploring in the yard. The setting was quiet and peaceful. I was surprised to see a large amount of wood already cut for the fire pit. The inside of the cabin also had everything we needed. We spent a lot of time in Shenandoah National Park, so being so close to the Thornton Gap entrance was great.

Wonderful Weekend in the Mountains
We enjoyed our weekend in the mountains. Peaceful and relaxing for folks who like the outdoors but don't want the hassle of camping outdoors. The home was comfortable but needs some TLC. Overall we would stay again in the fall when the leaves are changing and cold enough for a campfire.

The cabin was just as it looks online. The house was comfy and cozy. The kitchen well supplied. The shower was strong and the water was hot. We loved retreating to the fire pit or the porch swing to relax. The bedrooms were well appointed . The beds are are a little hard, but we sleep ok. It wouldn’t stop from renting it again. Peaceful, quiet, relaxing, and just a car ride into town.

An Actual Getaway
I’m not sure who loved staying here more, my pup or me. He loved the huge front yard where he was free to roam and run around. As for us, the house came with everything we needed for cooking, camping out, and most importantly, relaxing. We didn’t even notice that we didn’t have service or WiFi, it was nice to take a break from the phones. From the propane grill, to the comfy beds, the fire pit for our campfires, and the big TV in the living room, this was a great place to relax and soak in the fresh air. Another plus was that we were only 15 minutes from Shenandoah National Park where we spent a lot of time hiking. Also only being 10 minutes from town in case you forgot anything, but it is more than likely that whatever you needed was already in the cabin provided for you! We would definitely stay here again and would definitely recommend it to anyone that’s looking to truly relax.

Great family friendly spot
Location was fantastic. Remote home but with easy access to Shenandoah daily and nearby stores/restaurants. It smelled freshly clean upon arrival and was well stocked with all the necessities, including linens and kitchen wares. I had my three kids with me (ages 4-10); they couldn’t have been happier with the setup. Free space to run around and a great fire pit to roast hot dogs after a long day. We will definitely be back!

Perfect place to get away. We spent our days at Shenandoah NP and then relaxed at this lovely cabin. Get up early and sit on the porch and maybe you’ll see 3 momma turkeys with about 30 babies like we did! Well equipped kitchen for eating in but close enough to Luray for eating out. We had no cell service and there’s no WiFi but we barely missed it. Definitely would stay again!

Fox Den cabin was wonderful for myself, my husband and our little dog! Cabin was clean and well maintained, roomy and bed was soooo comfortable! A/C worked great, as we stayed during the heat wave this week! The covered porch was delightful to listen and watch the deer in the early mornings and evenings. No cell service or internet, but there is a landline phone for your use, and it works, we used it to order food delivery etc. Dish Network TV was fine for our days and nights when inside. Large flat property, with grass and trees to walk around for exercise, for us in our mid 60's and our dog loved it too! Would HIGHLY recommend because it is also very close to the town of Luray, so convenient for driving in and out. There is a small stream as you drive in and out, and we saw 2 baby deer playing in it, very cute! We hope to return at another time, maybe a Fall stay.
