Nice flat, excellent location, helpful host. TV in the flat is small and basic with Spanish channels only; HDMI connection available though - should you need it. Changing of the guard from nearby palace passes in view of the window; a nice surprise.

Chegamos às 22h30, não estava ninguém à nossa espera para fazer check-in, as chaves estavam depositadas num cacifo a 300 metros. O serviço não foi solicitado nem autorizado por nós. No anúncio apresentado no sítio da “vrbo”, não está mencionado hora limite para fazer o Check-in. No último dia, saímos às 11h00 do apartamento. Novamente sem ninguém para receber as chaves. Deixamos as chaves dentro do apartamento. Aconteceu um acidente, o meu filho informa que não tinha a carteira com dele e afirmava que a tinha no bolso e que devia ter ficado no sofá. Ligamos à senhoria a informar Pedimos o favor de vir ao apartamento para nos abrir a porta e levantar a carteira. Estivemos duas horas à espera... A localização é boa. As instalações não têm a qualidade apresentada no anúncio, de luxo não tem nada. O ar condicionado não funciona, os estores não funcionam, o piso do Wc está partido, não tem talheres para 4 pessoas, não tem toalhas ou individuais de mesa, o WI-FI não funciona, as janelas não fecham bem, fazendo corrente de Ar, muito desagradavel. O apartamento tem uma suíte, o único Wc do apartamento está dentro do quarto, os hóspedes que precisam de ir ao Wc durante a noite têm de passar pelo quanto onde estão outros a descansar... surreal, não há privacidade para ninguém ! Não gostamos da experiências, não recomendamos !

Unos huéspedes terribles. Tuve que hablar con el equipo de vrbo. Trato fatal a la señora de limpieza, muy malos modos. Toallas para tirar, apartamento realmente muy poco respetado. Nefastos. Tanto fue así que con el testimonio y con más fotos del estado del apartamento tuve que cobrarles un extra. No quiero volver a recibir a esta familia .

Very central, comfortable and clean apartment
Location is great and lounge is very comfortable. Kitchen is well stocked with crockery. Small microwave that we did not use. Washing machine was a challenge as there were no English instructions to be found so we couldn’t work out out how to dry clothes. Bed and pillows need upgrading as they are not comfortable. Bathroom floor needs recorking as there are gaps in the floor tiles that are uncomfortable to walk on. The TV only has Spanish channels. These minor details reduce the luxury description of the apartment.

Madrid and the sights
We really enjoyed our time in Madrid. There is so much to see and do. The city is a wealth of historic sites and museums. The apartment is conveniently located to all of the important amenities including the Metro.

Perfect location for a short stay. Laura is a very very good manager. Thank you. Went out of her way to get us in a bit early and help with our car. Also loved the light on a high floor so street noise wasn’t a problem

Careful – no A/C in the bedroom
The apartment was nice and clean. Enough room for 2 adults and 2 kids. Great location, right in the center, across the street from Mercado de San Miguel, Plaza Mayor. Easy check in, great communication. Laura, the host, was very helpful and had answers for all of my questions. The reason I marked it one star on accuracy of listing is that the listing says it has Air Conditioning, but there is no A/C in the bedroom, only in the living room. We stayed in June, day high temperatures were about 85F (29C), temperature in the bedroom never went below 80F - 82F (27C - 29C), which is waaayyyy too high to sleep for us. Living room A/C could not even keep up with the living room, and the way it is located no air from it was going into the bedroom at all. July day high temperatures in Madrid are expected to be even higher (up to 98F (36C)), so this could be a huge problem for some people.

Perfect location
Laura, our host, was superb. She was very helpful and had answers for all of my questions, in addition to giving us suggestions for places to visit and how to find the best prices. The apartment is located directly across from the newly renovated Mercado, and there are several excellent restaurants just steps away.

Jesus was great giving us tips on the city, places to go, etc, We parked the car in the apartment and walk, walk, walk. Apartment had everything that we needed, washer, hot water, a/c. and even laundry detergent. Thanks for everything!

Host cancelled when we were waiting at the door
We were2 adults with our 2 daughters waiting at the entrance of the building on a very crowded street with all our luggage and no instructions to get in the apartment. When trying to contact the host I received an email from Vrbo saying the stay was cancelled by the owner due to a water leak. In the very last minute, in the middle of the street, we were there desperate making calls to nearby hotels trying to find a place to stay. Never, ever will book with this person again.

Buenos días. La reserva se tuvo que cancelar por una avería en la ducha que ocasiona levantamiento de tarima. Avería provocado por el anterior inquilino, de la cual, no se hizo responsable. Se le explicó el motivo detalladamente y se acordó su reubicación. Un comentario el suyo totalmente inapropiado. Saludos Jesús

Thanks for a great night!
First of all, I was so grateful that our host waited nearly an hour for us to check in. We got delayed and she was so gracious and patient. The apartment was clean and nicely decorated, and somehow managed to be quiet for sleeping despite being right in the heart of the centro. We were able to walk to everything we wanted to see and feel like it was great value for the money!

Great Madrid stay
The apartment and the location were absolutely great. Very nicely decorated and modernized. We were within walking distance of most everything we wanted to see. The reason I marked it two stars on accuracy of listing is that the listing says there’s a washer, but the front door of the machine was removed so it was unusable. We book our stays so that we can pack lightly and do laundry as needed so we choose listings that include a washer. My only other complaint was that there weren’t any dish towels in the kitchen. Nothing for drying at all. If being able to do laundry isn’t important, this is a perfect apartment.

Ideal position Some TLC required
Firstly, the apartment couldn’t be in a better position. Across the road from the market and a view from the window of the first ever chemist and the smallest house. Easy walk to Palace and all sights. Bit of a mix up when checking in when we waited outside for someone to arrive only to have to eventually visit a tour booking agency down the road to use their WiFi to contact owner. After sometime he replied that someone was there already waiting for us, upstairs in the flat. As we did not have information on flat number this was not helpful. Upon checking in discovered washing machine was jammed shut with towels stopped mid cycle. This problem was not fixed during our stay. Disappointing as the use of a washing machine is what I based our booking on. That aside the flat is a good size with a well equipped kitchen. Bathroom is very small with a rather awkward shower. No tea towels, unless they were in the washing machine, no dishwasher powder and when washing clothes by hand discovered the overflow from the sink is not plumbed, water goes straight onto the cupboard. Bit of TLC needed by the owner, bathroom ready for a makeover. All that aside, would probably still recommend on position alone. Great restaurants when you exit and go in the opposite direction to the market.

It is what it is…
The good: location -, across the street from Mercado de San Miguel, Plaza Mayor, … The bad: you’re right in the middle if touristic area, so get ready for tourist traps, overpricing and all the “fun” associated with… From a property stand point, a small bathroom can be accessed thru the bedroom. Both ( bathroom and bedroom closing with a sliding door). Great for a couple, inconvenient for more than a couple :). Make sure to bring your own dish cleaning supplies. The ugly: towels were wet, bed sheets seemed to be recycled, dressers had wet bead sheets hanging to dry. Mattresses and /or bed springs need to be changed -feels like sleeping in a bathtub. We we’re provided with a different address… So after traveling, taxing to location - we had to wait on the street until finally we got in touch with the owner and then off we go to the right property address. Despite being urged to arrive before 4 pm so the cleaning lady can leave - the apartment was not ready ( @ 3:45 ish) and we were asked to wait30-40min ( left the luggage and went out for about 1:30hrs…). Great location, maybe better suited for on budget travelers. Owner replies were relatively quick. If you can do with above, then don’t hesitate to book it.

Tu comentario no tiene nada que ver con el resto de huéspedes. Pareja grosería y la verdad no pagaron bien ( precio noche 80€) Si eliges calle mayor en madrid sabes que es turístico. Si prefiere un lugar lejano de sol o palacio, entonces tendrías que haber reservado en Vallecas u otro barrio lejano. Saludos

Place is centric and great for family; however bathroom was backed up in the shower not draining very well. As well as the bathroom sink. Was told to leave the keys and mistakenly left it on the door hanging which caused the apt to lock and was charge 75$ euro fee. Definitely sticking to a hotel next time!!!

Central Location
We stayed at the apartment for a week in April. As mentioned by almost everyone the location is excellent for exploring central Madrid. The apartment is located on the 5th floor of the block. There are two lifts so we never had to use the stairs. There are a multitude of shops and restaurants nearby. The apartment is reasonably equipped but no manuals for appliances, and we found the microwave timer was not working properly. Internet was good and we were able to watch Netflix through our computer. The main bedroom bed was comfortable, we did not try the sofa bed. We did not need any heating and not sure how it would be controlled. Unfortunately there was no one there to meet us on arrival but some one did arrive after a short while. There were no instructions in the flat, just a couple of tourist books. We really enjoyed our week there but feel that more information should be provided on check in and on places around the flat, Jesus said he could provide information as required but we think information should be written down. Based on the few niggles it brings it down to 4 stars rather than 5.

If you're coming to explore old city center- property is a gem, within 15 min walking you can cover it all. Efficient small appartment, good for 1-2+ child. Communication with the owner/manager effortless. I would stay again.

Perfect to come back to
This was a perfect home away from home! Hosts Jesus and Laura were very helpful all the way through from booking to leaving . The apartment is in a very bright and sunny location that can get hot during the day even in fall, so I recommend closing the blinds during the day, but everything else was terrific. We bought food at San Miguel Mercado virtually across the street and had a breakfast of ham, olives, eggs, cheese, and bread every morning before going out for the day. I suggest bringing coffee, s&p packets and sugar, but there is a coffeemaker.
