Well equipped kitchen!
The Elliot House exceeded our expectations. It is nicely appointed with plenty of space both indoors and outdoors for large families or gatherings. The kitchen is user friendly and very well equipped. We had excellent communication with the host.The stairs to the lovely bedrooms are quite steep. My elderly Mom managed, but they may prove too difficult for some. There is one bedroom on the main floor as well. The near by town of Waddington offers provisions and a paved riverside walk. The Elliot House truly is a gem. It will not disappoint.

We had a great time staying here, very clean and spacious for 9 of us. The kids enjoyed running around in the large yard and the rear patio makes a great place to sit and watch them. I would stay here again if we are ever back in the area

Extended family graduation
We were looking for a place to stay for a college graduation. We needed adult couples to have seperate rooms and offer privacy. The Elliot House was perfect. There was a downstairs room for the grandparents who had difficulty with stairs and plenty of upstairs rooms for the other guests. The kitchen was spacious and extremely functional. A large dining room accommodated our gathering for breakfast and lunches. We enjoyed the back patio and picnic table for an after graduation cook out on the gas grill. The sunset over the field was super! Communication with our host was top notch and he offered great tips about local resources and activities to entertain us during our stay. Great house and great host. Would definitely recommend it.

Will Stay Again
Everything about this house was perfect. Steven is a very proactive owner, responds very quickly to inquiries and makes sure you have everything you need to know before you arrive. The house itself is beautiful - the kitchen is modern and super well stocked from an appliance and accessory perspective. All the pots, pans, utencils, plates etc. are in great shape, clean and very, very well organized. The water cooler is a great addition as well and the front porch and back patio are perfect places to relax in the morning. We can’t wait to go back.

A true gem!
First, communication with the host has been great! Check in was seamless and no issues at all during our stay. This house, with all its history, is lovely! It’s location , the view and the scenery around the house is picture perfect! It’s very clean and has the feel of your own home. We’re so glad to have found it, it had enough room for our family. Clarkson University Graduation Weekend
We rented the Elliott House in Waddington, NY because our son graduated Clarkson University. The house is about 15 minutes from Clarkson, it is an 1860 farmhouse that has been beautifully restored and updated. Large beautiful kitchen and large rooms, plenty of space with 5 bedrooms and 2 baths. House is fully furnished with everything we needed to cook, etc. The house was very clean and we even got to see a very rare piebald deer across the street. We had a wonderful time at the Elliott House!

Elliot House
I LOVED staying at the Elliot House!!! At first I was a little freaked out, as I could not find the kitchen, I arrived at night and was a little spooked. My eldest Son (student at St. Lawrence went through the house to make sure his Mom would be safe). Finally, after some aggressive pulling at a door we found the kitchen. The whole house is lovely!!! The kitchen is so special and more than adequately stocked with utensils. The first night I slept like a log-I was so tired. In the morning, I made some coffee and traversed through the kitchen back door to sit in a chair on the porch and drink my coffee. The city was behind me, I knew I was in the country, staying in an old farm house at that point. The birds were chirping, I saw a gofer (and used the provided binoculars to check him out closely). The stress of work just melted away! Staying at this house is a truly special experience and I HIGHLY recommend it. I will definitely stay there again when visiting my son. Thank you Steve!

Short vacation getaway
The house is absolutely beautiful! It was more than enough room for my family and the bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room were so nice. The kitchen was stocked with all cooking utensils, pots and pans .etc, that you could need. Even dish detergent, dish clothes...etc. They had spices so you didn't have to worry about bringing salt and pepper...etc. The mattresses were very comfortable. We were able to visit Lake Placid which was about 2 hours away and then go to 1000 islands about 1 hour away. We are definitely planning on coming again.

Perfect Long Weekend Getaway!
My boyfriend and I were looking for a nice quiet house for a long Valentine’s Day weekend. This was exactly what we were looking for, the property was very quiet and private with beautiful surroundings. Steve was an awesome host and helped us with anything we needed and answered any questions we had and check-in and check-out were easy. We spent most of our time in the beautiful kitchen! It’s huge, a ton of counter space, natural light with huge windows, and an island for people to sit and hang out while cooking 😊 We had the best time, we would love to come again!

Elliot’s house was phenomenally beautiful
Elliot’s house was the perfect get away from home, and still feeling at home!! We stayed over thanksgiving weekend and we enjoyed every minute of it. We love cooking and of course the kitchen became our favorite place. The landscape of the house and its outdoor fire pit made it even more cozier. As a nature lover the morning walk through the field made it calm and relaxed. I will definitely recommend This place and Mr. Stephen was wonderful with suggestions for around the town discovery. Stephen was always very attentive and responded to every question we had. Looking forward to book again and enjoy more family memories!!

Fish On!
We rented the house for a fishing trip on the local St. Lawrence River. Steve was great at communication and welcomed a phone call to get acquainted. The house was large and very well appointed. The kitchen was excellent and very well stocked with everything you could need. We walked into a very clean house...COVID clean...exceptional. The 5 bedrooms were great and gave us plenty of space. Thanks Steve for a great place to stay during our trip!

Beautiful, homey, well-maintained home
We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home! Coming from New York City, we really enjoyed the real country feel! There were so many little things that added up to a great experience- besides being able to watch the sunset from the back porch and enjoying all the space, we enjoyed the swing on the tree, the binoculars on the windowsill for birdwatching, and so much more! The house itself is clean and beautifully, maintained. It was a pleasure dealing with Steve! Thanks for sharing your home!

A stellar getaway
This property was perfect for a group of four friends looking to get away from city life. We have spent months staying at home during Covid quarantine and this spot was so great for us to escape the stuffy city. We spent our time canoeing the river, having bonfires, stargazing, and cooking beautiful meals in the huge kitchen. Steven was super helpful with all our questions. He also set up all the precautions to make us feel safe and sanitary during the pandemic. Would definitely stay here again

Favorite home to stay at in Upstate New York
Fantastic place to stay in Upstate NY. Close to the St. Lawrence Seaway. Most comfortable home I’ve stayed in. Large rooms, comfortable beds and full kitchen amenities. Owner extremely nice and always attentive to our questions. Not a single issue or problem during a one week stay. Will return many more times in the future.

A great place to stay!
We were a group of high school friends getting together for a 40th year reunion. The place turned out to be perfect for us. The house is as clean as can be, and the location was convenient to everything we wanted to do. Close to town but a real country setting. Perfect place to stargaze at night while sitting by a fire. Steven, the owner, is as nice as can be. Super friendly and helpful but not in the least intrusive. Several of us expect to use the place again for our individual trips back home.

Your place was just what we needed. We enjoyed being able to have family members over for visiting and pizza. Everyone raved about the home (very roomy, beautiful, yard, and very updated). Our grandson loved seeing the deer in the back yard, and a groundhog coming out of its hole. If we make it back to the upstate next year, we will certainly be staying with you again. Thank you for everything. Ps we loved the pancake and bacon breakfast.

Clarkson Graduation Gathering
We needed a venue to accommodate 8-10 family members. The home was perfect. It is a very short distance from Clarkson and yet away from the crowds of graduation. Having a bedroom and bath on the first floor allowed my mom (83yo) to be comfortable however the additional 4 bedrooms upstairs provides space for the rest of us. A special treat was the sunset in the back. This allowed wonderful Photos of family and friends. I highly recommend the Elliot House for graduation in the Potsdam area or any getaway!!

Lovely home fully equipped for a family
I cannot express enough what a wonderful, charming Home and property this is! We had a family of 6 and everyone had their own clean room and were tickled with everything that was included. We even had breakfast in the fridge and homemade pancake mix ready for our first morning there! We definitely would use this home the next time we visit the area. Totally enjoyed every minute we were there! Great reunion Home for us as we had family travel from Hawaii, Texas and Georgia. The wildlife we saw was another bonus! Thank you for treating us so well! Stay, if you are in the area. You won’t be disappointed!!

Highly recommend, excellent property
We stayed in the Elliot House for our daughter's graduation from Clarkson. We found it to be exactly as advertised, very clean, comfortable, fully equipped and updated, and roomy. We absolutely would recommend this property to anyone. 6 adults and 2 teenage children stayed in the house for 5 days/4nights and found there to be plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen and family rooms were large enough to accommodate the entire crowd when we wanted to be together. The kitchen is fully equipped and everything is in excellent condition. We did some cooking, baking and prep for some engagements and found the kitchen had everything we needed. Bedrooms are well appointed with comfortable beds and plenty of good quality linens. The outside grounds are gorgeous with a very nice back patio overlooking fields and trees. Location: Although it looks further on a map, it’s a very easy 17 minutes from the house to Clarkson, we made the trip numerous times each day. In the other direction, Waddington and the St. Lawrence River is just 4 miles up the road. For any function at the Potsdam or Canton universities, this house is ideal. We wish we’d found it before now.

Very Very Nice Home, Clean, Nice kitchen and dining room, quiet location
We stayed here with 9 people and enjoyed the place very much. It is an old farm house with alot of charms. Beautiful wood floors, great kitchen, very nice towels and showers. Nice linens, easy to find. Owners provided a few nice extras too. We would stay here again.
