Very pretty village and area. Good value for money. Nice, clean, if basic rooms, but nice comfortable bed. Lots of parking. Good breakfast. Friendly staff, if gaps in when you could find them. Access to Thames path. A couple of options for food. I went to The Rising Sun. Good beer and a buzz in a Thursday evening, and food choice okay (but not inspiring). Amazingly in this day and age, no WiFi so back to paper and pen for working I’d be happy to stay again

Booked a last minute stay for the weekend with my partner. We were greeted with a warm welcome on arrival, and to our surprise when we got to the room we noticed that we had been upgraded which was delightful! The hotel and our room were gorgeous. The breakfast was delicious. Really cannot fault our experience. Thank you to the staff x

Wonderful hotel
Amazing building with great features, though finished with a luxury feel. Restaurant food was good value for money and really tasty. Friendly service by all staff from check in, dining, breakfast to check out

Lovely village location
Lovely room and gardens. Not sure if just because it was twixmas but the menu was limited to fried dishes so we had to go to the other village pub for food. Breakfast was reasonable.

Not a bad stay
I booked a superior double room for my parents for christmas. Upon arrival they were upgraded for free to the bridal suite. Room was clean, and warm (maybe a bit too warm). The next morning however my dad had a shower but the water was like a tap rather than a shower so maybe it needed a good descaling inside the head, he tried changing the head as it was a multi pressure but again water only can out the sides not the shower holes. Breakfast was not great. There was a small continental or fried. Bacon was dry, and sausages were hard so probably cooked in advance. Overall not a bad stay and they said they would stay again just no breakfast

Great place, great food and great staff
The pub restaurant is lovely, the food is great and the staff are welcoming. I stayed in a very nice room in the brick barn. My only complaint would be the WiFi is poor. I wanted to watch the footy on my iPad and the signal was not strong enough to get me a continuous signal so cut out a lot. Wi-Fi in the pub is perfect.

Nice rooms, great breakfast - avoid the curry
Hotel room spacious , lovely roll top bath. Breakfast was very nice, staff attentive and good variety. We dined on the first night and had the curry special which was very poor and staff didn’t seem to know what they were serving. Was told chicken or vegetable curry, chose chicken which should have been described as chickpea with a few pieces of chicken , I think it was the veg curry with a few pieces of chicken added. Very disappointed with the curry special and staff on that night, took long time to get served at bar too.

It’s an old building so you have to take that into consideration however as always it’s the little things. (No coffee in the room, the first day, no tea or coffee in the room the second day). Breakfast is a buffet and bit of a free for all with staff that don’t seem to know or care what they’re doing. Basically keep your expectations low, and then you won’t be disappointed.

The ‘luxury’ room in the annexe was large but the wall was in a disgraceful state with crumbling plaster and paint chipped off all around the switches. The shower pressure was poor and didn’t drain properly- the shower cubicle was old and needed replacing. We had to get our own tea from reception in the morning as it has not been replenished properly. Not what I would expect for £145. Staff were scruffy and unprofessional. Check-in procedures completely inflexible.

Disappointing
It's OK. Beautiful old place in a picture postcard location. But I was disappointed in the choice of food - after reading about the kitchen garden on their website which makes The Olde Bell sound like a "cousin" of the Manoir au Quatre Saisons! The menu is extremely limited, and more like what you expect at any "Rose and Crown".

We ordered a deluxe room. This was in the old part of the property and was on 2 levels with a winding staircase between them, the bathroom being on the lower level and the bedroom on the upper level. We decided it was not safe in case someone had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, a situation made more difficult by my bad knee. The second room we were given was on one level but it was very noisy due to the main air intake to the building being next to the room and there being a window nearby which was impossible to completely close. The room was spartan with no chairs to sit on. So we rejected this room as well. In no way could this be called a deluxe room. The third room was a downgrade but it was quiet and on one level. We requested a rebate but the hotel refused to give us one. Service in the restaurant was variable. One morning we had to request coffee multiple times before some appeared.

Such a cute, welcoming hotel. The staff were polite and helpful. The bbq food was fantastic. Breakfast was very reasonably priced. We will definitely return.

Lumpy bed
The Olde Bell should be a fantastic place to stay. Lovely quaint village, fantastic location and it's steeped in history. But unfortunately, the bar staff let it down and the bed was the lumpiest must uncomfortable mattress I've slept (badly) in for a long time. The lady covering breakfast was awesome and helps to set you up for a good day. Evening food was very nice.

Steeped in history, ancient and quaint. Friendly helpful staff. Dog friendly rooms and bar area. Good food, breakfast was lovely. Hurley is a beautiful location and we would definitely return.

We had a wonderful time with friends .
We booked a basic room to be outside . It suited us but some rooms needed a little maintenance . Expensive for basic room , the hotel has very nice large rooms also . Nice breakfast over looking garden and can be eaten in the garden also . Helpful staff . Large outside garden area , for meals . No sandwiches , for lunch . Red kites flying just over us .

Excellent value
Historique old hotel close to old monastery and the Thames situated in pleasant countryside and accessible by tube + taxi from central London. Comfortable spacious room missing only an armchair and an extra bedside light (3). Delicious substantial breakfast and fine staff.

Pretty good overall
A beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. The room was good, however the bed was pretty uncomfortable. The room was pretty warm and outside the window was the kitchen extractor so noisy with the window open. The food at the hotel was good, they made a good effort to have vegan options. Staff were friendly.
