Each en-suite room features unique Swahili-inspired vidaka designs and local wooden carvings. The open-air Makuti palm leaf-covered veranda and exposed coral bricks provide a seamless connection to nature; immersion into the natural beauty tucked into a bay on the untamed shores of the Indian Ocean.

The main level bedroom has a king-size bed and reclaimed windows closable with shutters.

The large upper room has an open magnificent sea-view with a queen-sized bed. Each of the beds are carved out of wood with traditional intricate Swahili designs by local craftsmen and outfitted with high quality mattresses and linens for a restful sleep listening to the ever-present sounds of the ocean.

The upper room can be set up as a luxurious room for a couple or can also be suitable as a family-style room with ample space for 2 single cots/beds in the front L space. Maximum occupancy is 4 adults or 7 persons (4 adults/persons & 3 room-sharing young children/infants).
Additional single beds can be added as per your parties’ requirements (with prior permission and arrangement - NO unauthorized guests are allowed).

There are multiple working spaces available depending on the privacy level required. Furniture/desk areas can be moved with the care-taker’s assistance only and standing fans are available.

As the rooms are open to the elements (particularly the upper bedroom), each bed has a mosquito net. As the weather is generally warm at the coast, there is no hot water.

Each room has its own lockable door for which you will be provided a key for the duration of your stay.

The outdoor living and dining areas are on the main level as well as a lockable kitchen (accessible through the main bedroom). Please close and fully lock the kitchen at night (our staff can show you how).

The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, 5 burner gas stovetop cooker, high quality health conscious cookware including a cast iron dutch oven & pan, a moka coffee maker/pot, dishes, cutlery and glasses. Everything you may desire for magnificent dining (except an oven or blender due to solar operation).

There is direct access to an untouched beach tucked into a protective bay as well as private beachfront space. The beach area under the shade of the acacia trees can be used for breakfast, lounging or yoga/workout.

There is an on-site art and culinary library and 2 open guest art studios on site in a quiet area near the art installation site. Bring your own art medium of choice if you wish.

Our cleaner or watchman are always on-site for any questions or assistance you may require as well. They will work around your movements to provide you with the utmost privacy.
