We used this as a room to change into our ski gear for the Special Olympics Winter Games
I arrived at Schuss Mountain without having a rental. I called and let Sue know what I needed and what we wanted it for. Within minutes she had the paperwork done and sent me a lock code to get in.

I loved my short stay here! The room is cozy and I didn't miss any of the amenities I have at home. The mattress was a bit too soft for my taste, but worked out well for my husband. The one thing that wasn't perfect is that the walls and door between rooms are not very thick, so I could hear the neighborhood. Otherwise the property is great for short ski getaways. It really is walking distance to the slopes. The host was very prompt when I had inquiries. I felt welcomed here and will definitely book again.

Good for the price
The room was clean and had toiletries available. Good location about halfway between 2 towns and close to nature trails and beaches. Owner was responsive and there was no check in process, only an email containing code and relevant info. I would recommend staying here if you like the outdoors.

Nice, cozy room
The room was nice and clean upon check in. There were items stocked in the kitchen that were nice additions- tea and coffee etc. The towels in the bathroom were very plush. The pool at the main lodge was spacious and there was a hot tub too. The town of bellaire was super cute and had many good restaurants and is close to torch lake and many other lakes. Lots of places to rent kayaks and canoes!! Good hiking trails very close by too!

Very unique area and cozy room. The pool was indoor/outdoor and cool. Plenty of at-home style amenities like kitchen n utensils. Close to torch lake and I'll bet it's even fun up that way in the winter because there are ski hills everywhere!

Perfect Location for Up North Fun
This was the perfect place for us to get away in a quiet location, but within driving distance for day trips to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Fishtown, and Traverse City. Perfectly clean and snug with a generous supply of towels and soaps. The little kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed as well. We would come here again!

We liked that it was clean, and that there was plenty of essential amenities. We didn't like the fact that there was a lot of cobwebs outside surrounding the premises. Overall we enjoyed our stay, and look forward to returning.

Great stay! Very helpful and responsive owner. This cute little place is at the foot of Schuss ski slopes. Easy walking distance to restaurant and lifts. Right across the driveway is the Nordic ski rental center if you’re interested in XC skiing, dog sledding, or snow shoeing. The lodging has an an outdoor entrance one floor up. Parking available right outside the door. The place has a small kitchen to cook in, Keurig coffee machine, tv with DVDs to watch. The place was clean on arrival. The only negative is the bed was a bit slouchy with two people in it but not too big of a deal. Overall I’d stay here again!

Perfect spot to ski and snowboard
I rented this place for a weekend and took my son (11 years old) skiing and snowboarding for his birthday. Shanty Creek did an exceptional job navigating Covid-19 - they really are making the best of it. The accommodation was perfect for two....we had everything we needed including being able to cook some simple meals. Very close to the slopes which made being out early and taking breaks easy. Joyce was wonderful and helpful throughout. Thank you! Grateful to have been able to stay here.

Up north getaway
The condo is well laid out and has lots of thoughtful details for your stay. The location within the complex makes it a quiet place to stay without much traffic. We enjoyed our stay immensely and will rent this condo whenever we come back up north.

Perfect for two people, very clean, very quiet. Lots of golf courses in the area if you're into golf. Be prepared to drive for at least 15-30 minutes to get to a grocery store, restaurant, or the casino. I would certainly stay there again!

Clean, comfortable bed with good pillows and linens. Plenty of towels. Great base location for various day trips. WiFi wasn’t working, but did spend much time inside so not a big deal. Would stay again.

Cute and comfortable
We enjoyed our stay in this very cute and cozy unit. Everything was well maintained and stocked with thoughtful details. All communications were timely and friendly. We were not able to get the resort WiFi to work in the unit and our cell coverage struggled but we didn’t miss it too much!

Nice little place. No wifi though. Was told there was but neither of us could connect to it. Other than that close to lakes, wineries, breweries, and restaurants. We would go back again!

Wonderful Little Condo
We really enjoyed staying for 4 nights. It was perfect for two. The condo was nicely updated and had everything we needed. The location was centrally located and tucked away by Schuss. We would definitely rent here next year!

Clean, quiet place
We rented the room for a girls weekend this past weekend and couldn't have had a better experience. Joyce's communication was fabulous. I kept in contact with her and she was always available to answer questions. The room was very clean and the cupboards were filled with plates, cups, cookware, soaps, towels. I couldn't think of anything that I needed that wasn't there. It is well maintained. The actual resort it self was a little on the run down side and the hot tub was out of order, but that wasn't any fault of the owners. I am actually hoping to plan another trip in October. Well worth the money.

I lived the peacefulness and beauty of the area. Had trouble gwtting TV to work. Instructions were too simple. Friend showed me how to work it. Floors creeked as you walked across it.

Great winter getaway
Affordable and clean. It was nice to have the small kitchen and fridge. We loved being able to snowboard in and out and take breaks back at the room. We had everything we needed at never left the resort. We will be back again!

We are located in the winter ski slope village side of the resort. In summer the main lodge front desk and Ivan's restaurant are closed so the Schuss Village looks a bit different than in the winter. I appreciate you comment about our room. We strive to keep it extremely clean and the kitchen stocked with supplies. Thank you, Joyce Fisher

Excellent weekend away
Excellent time at Schuss Mountain. This studio style room was perfect for my boyfriend and myself for our weekend away. It had all the necessities and was a very convenient location to the mountain.

Recent trip with my daughter
My daughter and I recently rented the unit for a weekend stay. The unit was clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The close proximity to the slopes and Ivan's was great. Overall, our experience was positive. The only negatives to our experience was the hot water took a long time to heat up and there was a musty odor in the unit that reminded me of an old family cabin.

In response to the musty odor, I had the housekeeper check out the unit and she felt it was OK. I did have the carpet cleaned and the room sanitized as we are always trying to improve our rental and feel that any concern by a guest is to be taken seriously. Once again, thank you. Joyce

Great escape!
Very impressed with our stay! We vacation often in the Traverse City area and we were pleasantly surprised by the reasonable price of the rental. While this may be a ski lodging location, it's very pleasant and quiet during the summer months, as we were the only ones in this particular set of buildings. Joyce stayed in contact with me from the first day that I booked. She sent me directions and pertinent information that was helpful! Inside of rental was very clean and welcoming. Furnished with linens and towels. The candy bars/snacks were a sweet touch that was appreciated! Will definitely stay again!
