Ocean and Country


Situated on top of the crest overlooking the expansive sea views from the front of this spacious house , and then looking from the lounge, across the large deck westward over the rolling farmland to the mountains beyond. This home has it all when endless views count !
Mangawhai Heads beach is just down the hill, and the township, shops and cafes are only a couple of minutes away.
Would suit one large or even two families (up to 11 people) for an amazing coastal getaway
**Would best suit six adults and up to five children in luxury **

Children are always more than welcome, and the house has many offerings to keep them busy

This property is fairly new to the Air B&B market, and we have put our heart and soul into fitting it out for your enjoyment.

Linen and Bedding
Linen and towels are NOT included in the tariff but are available as an optional extra at $25 per person, so if you wish us to prepare it for you, please mention in your booking comments and we will make a manual adjustment. Please note that due to the nature of our accommodation service we do not provide a maid service.
**When requesting linen, please be specific, as to which beds are to be made up before arrival (a floor plan can be sent for conformation)

**Otherwise please bring your own top & bottom sheets, pillow cases, and towels. All beds and pillows are fitted with protectors, for health and peace of mind.

There is now also another queen bed in the carpeted garage area for overflow if needed. This also makes a great day bed, with the cool breeze on those hot days.

All other essentials are supplied for your comfort and ease of settling in.

Our stay was absolutely fantastic! Such a great large space for our big family. This bach was well equipped with everything we needed and more. It is so thoughtfully set up with families and large groups in mind. So many amenities and little extras that were very well received by us. The 360 degree views were just stunning, sitting out on the deck to catch the sunset was just breath taking. The communication with the host was seamless from start to finish. Andrew touched base before our stay to make sure we were all set. He also checked in to make sure we settled in well, which we had indeed thanks to the well written Guest Manual. The location of this bach was also perfect, only minutes away from Mangawhai beach and the town centre for shops, cafes etc. If you are looking for a family friendly place to stay in Mangawhai, this will be perfect! Highly recommend.

Date of arrival - 18 March 2021

For 6 adults and 2 children getting together after being apart for 3 years this house was terrific. Spacious and sparkling clean it had plenty of room for us all plus separate areas to get away from each other if necessary. We loved the outdoor area and the views on both sides were spectacular. Thoroughly recommend it for family get togethers - Mangawhai is a wonderful place for kids and adults.

Lovely getaway

Great stay for our group

Andrews property was perfect for our group over Easter. The house was so much bigger than expected with plenty of space for 3 families. Everything was clean and in great condition and communication with Andrew was easy before and during our stay. Location is great too, just a short drive to the surf beach or short walk down to the estuary. The kids loved the cupboard full of toys and it kept them busy the entire time! Thanks for a great stay, would highly recommend this place to anyone!

Great spot for family and friends

This is a great spot up on the hill looking out to the estuary and hills on either side of the house. The games room and kids toys were really appreciated and made our holiday break perfect despite some less than ideal weather.

Beautiful location but frustrating hidden costs

We booked this house with a group of people in anticipation for a friends wedding. The house location is great, atop a slop that overlooks the Mangawhai Heads area. Access to the town and walking trails to the beach were fun and easy. The experience inside the house left a little less to be desired. Before arriving we were told that if we wanted bedding and / or towels for our beds - it would be an extra charge. We were all flying in from the United States so we obviously would need this. Frustrating but we dealt. Then, we were told that upon check-out we would have to pay an additional charge for our trash. These things would've been fine if there was the expectation set upfront in the listing. We also didn't have a working drying, which also wasn't disclosed until we got three. This was a big reason why we booked a house for our stay. There were some other small things that were challenging, like no beach towels that were borrowable. We had to buy our own but otherwise the house came well equipped. It's a great location, great recommendations for activities but average experience.

Easy place to enjoy

Good bedroom layouts and amenities are excellent. Decks superb with dining inside and outside opportunities. Very friendly hosts. Views from many perspectives. Two fridges very helpful for bigger groups ( we had 8 adults) and longer stays. Lots of extras available to be used.
