- Spruce Street Retreat is a newly launched vacation rental, thoughtfully prepared for guests to enjoy a comfortable and relaxing stay in Manistee. We’re excited to welcome our first guests and have taken care to create a warm and inviting space. Welcome to Spruce Street Retreat, a charming Victorian home just one mile from the shores of Lake Michigan. This 3-bedroom, 1.5-bath home comfortably sleeps up to 6 guests and blends original character with everyday comfort, including central air conditioning for warm summer days.
With cozy gathering spaces, perennial gardens, a sunny enclosed porch, and thoughtful touches throughout, Spruce Street Retreat offers a relaxed and inviting place to unwind after a day exploring Manistee. Spend your mornings sipping coffee in the Sunroom, your afternoons at nearby 1st Street Beach, and your evenings gathered around the table sharing meals, games, and conversation.
Whether you`re here for beach days, downtown strolls, scenic M-22 drives, or simply slowing down for a few days, this home provides a comfortable Northern Michigan retreat full of warmth, charm, and a location that makes it easy to enjoy the best of Manistee.
THE SPACE
This home features three bedrooms, one full bathroom, and a water closet, with central air, offering a functional and comfortable layout ideal for couples, families, or small groups.
SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS
• Bedroom 1 – Full Bed “Maple Room.” (Gray Room)
• Bedroom 2 – Full Bed “Heritage Room.” (Red Room)
• Bedroom 3 – Queen Bed “James’ Room.” (Purple Room)
• Pack-n-Play available.
All bedrooms are on the second floor and include: Memory foam mattresses, 4 pillows per bed, 100% cotton sheets, duvets, extra blankets, dressers, closets with hangers, and full length mirrors.
BATHROOM
• Full bathroom located on the second floor with a classic clawfoot tub and shower.
• Water closet on the main floor next to kitchen.
• Towels and bath mats provided.

The Living Room and TV Room offer a place to relax, whether you`re unwinding after a day at the beach, enjoying a movie, or spending time together.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
Spruce Street Retreat is a great fit for guests looking for a comfortable Northern Michigan home base with character, walkability, and easy access to both downtown Manistee and Lake Michigan.
Guests can expect a full self-check-in or Property Manager is available upon advance request. Guests can enjoy complete privacy. However, the host is available via phone or messaging for any questions or assistance during your stay. Trash Collection is Thursday as early as 6 am. We ask guests who are staying Wednesday night to please put trash bins out at end of driveway in the evening. Ring doorbell and driveway surveillance camera. The backyard camera is inactive to protect our guests` privacy.
POLICIES - See House Rules
- Refund Policy – PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING. This property uses Stripe as our payment processor. Stripe’s payment processing fees are non-refundable. Because of this, our host refund policy deducts the Stripe processing fee from any refund that is issued for a canceled reservation. This applies to all cancellations, including Instant Book reservations. This policy is disclosed here so guests are fully aware of refund terms before booking.
• Maximum occupancy: 6 guests. Pre-school aged children exempt.
• Minimum stay: 3 nights. A 4-night minimum may apply during June, July, and August.
• Check-in begins at 4:00 PM.
• Check-out is by 10:00 AM.
• A $250 damage deposit hold will be placed on the credit card on file 2 days after check-in and released 7 days after check-out, provided no damage or excessive cleaning is reported.
• Stripe payment processing fees are non-refundable and will be deducted from any refunded amount, including cancellations.
• The primary renter must be at least 25 years old and remain at the property for the duration of the reservation. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
• Please disclose the total number of guests at the time of booking. Occupancy may not exceed the maximum number of approved guests.
• No parties, events, or large gatherings permitted. Unauthorized parties or disturbances may result in immediate termination of the reservation without refund.
• Quiet hours are from 9:00 PM to 8:00 AM in accordance with local ordinances. Please be respectful of neighbors.
• Be A Good Neighbor: Guests must respect local guidelines and be considerate of neighboring residents.
• No smoking, vaping, or drug use of any kind is permitted inside the home. Evidence of smoking indoors will result in a minimum $1,000 cleaning charge.
• No fires permitted anywhere on the property, including recreational fires, fire pits, bonfires, or outdoor burning. Use of the provided gas grill and charcoal grill is permitted.
• Children must be supervised by an adult at all times.
• Please remove shoes upon entering the home when possible.
• Please help us care for this historic home and its furnishings. Guests are responsible for damage caused during their stay.
• Please do not rearrange furniture.
• Please flush toilet paper only. Feminine products, wipes, paper towels, and other materials may damage plumbing systems. Guests may be responsible for plumbing service calls caused by improper use.
