Lady in charge gave our room to someone else so we had to wait for our room. It was also the last day (property was closing for the season) so she initially suggested sharing coffee maker with our other room (we had 2 rooms booked). Balked at this suggestion as i paid for 2 rooms, why should i share amenities? She rushed cleaning the room we eventually got so you can tell it was haphazardly done (we had a what’s supposed to be a white towel turn yellow in the bath). Room was newly renovated though (noce washroom!) but suggest putting a curtain on the bathroom window as they were ground floor rooms (my husband had to reinvent a “curtain” using towels $

The bedding and bathrooms are clean. Shingles missing on roof and room was old and musty. Looked like a leak in the ceiling touched up by paint. Would not be my first choice next time. Needs to be updated. Had a much better room in Baddeck for less money.

With a 72 hr cancellation policy it left us stuck with it after hearing about nasty weather on the way. Pictures are deceiving online! Although the bed and bathroom were clean, the furniture was beat up and upholstery dirty. Peeling paint, lots of junk around property. All this for $190.

Property is newly renovated. Rooms were really clean and nicely furnished. Customer service was exceptional. Vince was really accomodating and helpful. Loved the water view from the property. Very calm and peacful vibe.

Not horrible
Needs some money put back into it. Rooms were ok with comfortable bed and a clean bathroom. We had to stay here because Cheticamp was full. Not sure why though. We actually liked Margoree better than Cheticamp. I’d rate it as a 2.5 out of 5. Definitely a 2 star motel. Seemed overpriced for what it was.

Surprising
The saying you can't judge a book by it's cover fits Duck Cove Inn. We weren't terribly impressed by our first view of the Inn. It's a bit rough around the edges. Due to mobility issues, we were in the upper string of 13 units with no steps. We were quite pleasantly surprised that the 2 rooms we had appeared to have been newly renovated. The bathroom was especially impressive, being sparkly clean with newer, modern fixtures.

We had a super stay at the Duck cove inn. Their restaurant was opened for breakfast every day. Delicious food and reasonably priced . We had the accessibility room . Lots of grab bars in the bathroom - very safe . The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable.

From the lobby and the outside of the building we thought the rooms would look the same - dated and run down. To our surprise the room was revamped and had great beds, a modern washroom and very comfortable.

Room okay and clean. Staff friendly. Beds comfortable. Nice to have access to outside via sliding doors to grassy area. New owners try to update run down property. But 232$ for two people and small pet, with no breakfast is more than I paid throughout my trip in Nova Scotia.

Loved this place. Perfect for a stop on a road trip! They have a restaurant but it's only open at certain times. (Breakfast was great) I called to say I'd be checking in later in the day and the woman who answered let me know I should bring food. Glad I did because there's absolutely no options in Margaree. That being said - Margaree is beautiful. There is a small sandy beach nearby, I highly recommend stopping there!

just completed reno in May and replace all new beds matress and sheets, battery was stolen and replaced when requested, coffee is available at the front desk. overpriced? the price shown when you make the reservaation I did not put a gun over your head, it's your choice you should not complain. Perhaps you should put somethought on why did I ask you to leave( rather leave the rooms empty and rent to you guys) you need to learn to respect others then people will respect you. I hope you learn from this experience and do not repeat again.

This is not a luxury hotel. But if you are looking for a place to lay your head while on this part of the Cabot Trail, it’s fine. Our room was freshly painted, and the bathroom looks recently updated. Linens and curtains are new and tasteful. It’s no frills, but more than adequate. We also had breakfast in the restaurant. Very good, and a great view of the Margaree River. We talked to the people running the place, who were very nice. They cook and serve the food, clean the rooms, answer the phone. Hard workers. I wish them success

The property is reasonably priced, the rooms are spacious, the view is nice, and the restaurant serving breakfast onsite is helpful because there aren't a lot of eating options in the area. I appreciated the free coffee all day as well. The rooms themselves look newly renovated. The bathroom was excellent...sparkling! However, the other renos look a bit shoddy and there is no decor at all so the place feels a little like a hospital room - white walls and floor, and nothing to make it feel warm/cozy. We also found about 5 dead bugs on the floor when we came in though the room was otherwise very clean. There were a few live bugs (like potato bugs) on the floor the first morning but after that, nothing. However, it did make me feel nervous about leaving suitcases on the floor. We were a bit disappointed at being told "you're only staying two nights so we will not be cleaning your room". I would have preferred if we were given the option to have the room cleaned if it were needed. For instance, we went kayaking and tracked some sand in despite our best efforts, and then we just ... lived with sandy floors for the next day :( We were also given one bar of soap that was, without exaggeration, the size of a dollar. The shampoo and conditioner bottles were TINY as well. We were told we could ask for more if needed, but for two adults for two nights, what we were given initially just made the place feel like they weren't really aiming for a high standard of care/comfort.
