Quiet Haves
A peaceful and lovely place to stay. Very simple check-in process based on mutual trust. We loved it for a place for the whole family to stay. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed the entire experience.

Great getaway spot!!
Beautiful little space next to a reservoir. All the amenities we needed for our friends outing and the the owners were very accommodating and helpful! Would stay there again in a heartbeat!!

Beyond thankful for Lynn and Charlie
This stay was amazing. First, the home is warm, accommodating, clean and quiet. The property is well manicured with tons of space to run and play. We had a beautiful fire which was already stacked and ready to go. Beds were comfortable, showers were spacious, kitchen stocked. Second, we had the weirdest experience of car troubles. But Charlie was ready to not only allow a mechanic to come and work on the van, but shared an air compressor and tire patches to ensure everything was ready for us to set sail home the next day. We can’t thank this couple enough for sharing their space with our family. It could have been a vacation wrought with stress, but instead, we were relaxed knowing everything was going to be ok. You never want vehicle trouble on vacation, but I know the universe put us in the right place at the right time.

Excellent
A great place to stay for our family gathering to celebrate a wedding. The gravel road could be an issue for some vehicles, depending on weather conditions. Lots of substantial rocks on part of the journey into town. Very clean, comfortable and well equipped, in a peaceful location. We enjoyed listening to a couple of great horned owls and saw a flock of snow geese fly directly overhead. Beautiful!

Family Wedding
We stayed for our son’s wedding. Everything was very warm and inviting. Our granddaughters enjoyed playing outside in the large backyard. There was plenty of room for 6 adults and 2 kids. The house was very clean and had lots of books puzzles and games to keep everyone entertained. Will definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Quaint Little Place

Cute clean quaint getaway!
The house was clean, very comfy and cozy, the setting was beautiful w lots of big trees and space for kids to roam. Owners were easy to text and quick to respond. The big tub and comfy bed was great! We will return when in the area again!

Peace and Quiet
We enjoyed staying at the guest house. It had everything we needed! The owners are super nice and checked on us just after check in. The guest house offers plenty of privacy, but the owners are close enough to deal with any issues that might pop up.

Relaxing seclusion
The NorthShore Guest House was exactly what we needed to have a relaxing weekend away. Close to Marion Lake and a lovely outdoor space to enjoy a mild Fall weekend!

Country refuge
The quaint farmhouse was clean, modernized with a rustic country flavor. All necessary amenities were present with the exception of wifi connectivity. Interactions with Lynn were pleasant and informative. Highly recommend unless wifi is essential. Thank you for a very nice start.

Northshore Guesthouse
Very comfortable and CLEAN. Facility old but nice n comfortable, not crowded. Secluded n quiet. Access road very dusty. Side door could be improved with a handrail. Tree lined trails for walking. Would stay here again 😀

Amazing mornings!
This is just the sweetest place. It’s comfortable, spacious, and quiet. Lynn and Charlie made sure we were comfortable and were very responsive to questions we had. We loved making our coffee and sitting outside watching the birds each morning. The mattress were comfortable with quality pillows. The lawn was also mowed and lovely. We all loved our stay and hope to return.

Quiet and Cozy. An absolute dream!!!
This house is perfectly nestled in the country with ZERO TRAFFIC NOISE! We were within walking distance of the beach and very much enjoyed having our own private space. We had a big group so we brought our camper for extra sleeping space and it worked out perfectly!!! Lynn and Charlie were great to work with and they went above and beyond for us. We checked out on Saturday and headed for home but ended up with a flat tire. Charlie came to our rescue!!! We can't wait to stay here again!

Relax and unplug

Peaceful Quiet Getaway

Country living
Traveling for business purposes, 3 of us found this charming home well off the beaten path of city life. With wildlife all around us, and the magnificent Marion Reservoir less than 1 mile away. The owners, Charlie and Lynn could not have been more gracious of hosts. Arriving the first day I had mechanical problems with my car. Not like there is a Goodyear year or Pep Boys store anywhere near. A big thanks to Charlie as he was generous enough to give me a spot with a local mechanic that he had reserved for his own vehicle. If you're going to be in the area and looking for a VRBO, this is the one to go to. Thank you again Charlie and Lynn for providing us with such a wonderful 2 week stay.

As advertised. The house was super clean. We spent many hours in the backyard sitting around the fire pit. Magnificent lightning display high in the clouds on our last night. The hosts were very responsive to our limited needs (firewood) and super friendly. Felt like staying near friends.

Starry Night
The house was very clean and comfortable with everything you need for a wonderful stay. Lynn and Charlie were very accommodating yet allowed us our privacy. It felt like we were on a farm with beautiful bluestem fields. The night sky was incredible. We saw many shooting stars and constellations with the naked eye! We hated to leave.

A Dark Sky Delight
For travelers looking for a remote location at which to enjoy a little stargazing, look no further than this delightful country home. Though our stay was short, we enjoyed ourselves and would firmly recommend it to other travelers seeking a place to stay far from the city lights.

Loved the home. It was a perfect getaway for our family before we dropped our daughter off for her sophomore year of college. It was so homey and comfortable. We really enjoyed watching the lightning bugs and eating smore's in the evening around the fire pit in the backyard. The owner's really have made this a great place for vacationing!! Thanks so much! I absolutely loved the north shore guest house
The location was perfect for my needs. A bonus is that it's in the middle of a wildlife refuge and farmland. Between two dead end roads leading to the reservoir. It was clean and comfortable. Completely peaceful and charming
