Ett fantastiskt boende med personlig atmosfär. Vi fick hjälp med att boka en sluten vinprovning och gäster bjöds på vin och lite tilltugg innan kvällen.

Lovely B&B with a fabulous host. The host went our of her way to make us feel welcome. She is an executive chef and we did one of her dinners. It was fantastic. The rooms are quiet and the bed very comfortable. Lovely place. We hope to visit again.

Brilliant host, beautiful accommodation
Exceptional boutique hotel - themed rooms and bathroom - comfortable house with excellent host. Dinner is by request but it is sumptuous - Rachel is a wonderful and creative chef. Martinborough is a lovely town - small and flatland with numerous restaurants, bars, shops and surrounded by many enjoyable vineyards. Olive Oil groves are nearby too.

Rachel was the perfect host. Very knowledgeable and always helpful. She cooked an incredible dinner for us. Location is good for walking to town and a number of cellar doors.

True indulgence at Martinborough
The owner "Rachel", she is an amazing chef!! We never expected to have such a gourmet breakfast. Her homemade dates scone was excellent. Also I loved the home-made granola. Actually every single meal which she prepared for us was incredible. She offered four course diner but sorry we missed it. The coronial room was so nice and cute. It was really comfortable to stay-Thank you Rachel!

Attn all food lovers - here is a happy place
From the warm welcome to the leisurely conversations and snacks, it was more like staying with a new friend who lived to cook than a one night hotel transaction. The optional four-course meal (advance notice needed) and hands on pasta making (brilliant on a wet day) are strongly recommended. Planning our next visit already.

Nice cosy, clean and comfortable room. Rachel is a lovely host. I recommend you take advantage of the offer of a home cooked meal from her if it is available. Four beautiful ocurses and a definite highlight of our stay.

Highly recommend.
Beautiful room with a lovey comfortable bed. Nice glass of wine at 5pm along with beautiful canapés. The best continental breakfast the next morning. Pastries, coffee, muesli, fruit etc. Highly recommend that. Easy 10 minute walk to the square.

Wonderful place to stay, hostess with the mostest.
We loved our time at Prodigal Daughter Goirmet Lodge. The individual room was very homely, not your average hotel, guest house. Rachel the host is wonderful and will do everything require to ensure you have A great time exploring Martinborough and surrounds. We loved the complimentary glass of wine at 5pm as well as the picnic basket She prepared, packed full of flavour, for our walk and picnic. We also enjoyed a wonderful gourmet meal one night prepared and served by Rachel who really is the hostess with the mostest.

Romantic weekend stay
The hostess is very hospitable! The 5pm drinks and canapes are a delightful touch, and do yourselves a favour by booking in for a meal as well. They do a 4 course meal for a set price and it was divine! The bed was comfortable and the room cozy. This is an excellent choice for a couple's getaway, highly recommended.

I am glad you enjoyed the hospitality and my food during your stay. I am sorry you found some things disappointing during your stay including inadequate room amenities. I am always looking to improve, so please let me know what extras you would expect on a stay such as yours. I provide tea, double large bath towels 2 per person, bath robes, slippers, extra blankets, in your room an ivory leather couch, large cushions, extra pillows, and toiletries. Netflix tv and wifi. Property is an old house that retains a lot of character. Good location, close to town and its facilities and activities for the area. Rachel is a great hostess, arranging things for us such as winery visits, bike rentals and meal reservations. She is also a terrific cook who provides her guests with first rate meals on request.

Lovely house in an excellent location. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated with a comfortable bed and its own small verandah. Rachel was welcoming and friendly and the 5pm apertivs were delicious! We stayed for two nights and would stay again

La casa di Rachel è bellissima, il giardino altrettanto. La camera era curatissima e ben arredata. La padrona di casa è una cuoca professionista, quindi la colazione è di un certo livello, ed è compresa. Compreso nel prezzo anche un aperitivo di benvenuto. Abbiamo prenotato la mattina di Natale per la sera stessa, e Rachel ci ha preparato anche la cena a 85 dollari a testa (bevande alcoliche escluse). Un'esperienza anche per conoscere di più la Nuova Zelanda, avendo l'occasione di conoscere una persona squisita con cui chiacchierare

Rachel has created a super inviting, relaxing and comfortable home stay together with her dog Mia. If heading out for the day buy one of Rachael’s picnics- it was delicious and full of treats. We were so impressed we’ve booked a return trip.
