Casa Diva a dream hotel
We had an amazing stay at Casa Diva. From the initial communication before check-in to the farewell in the Lobby, the time at this hotel was superb. Eleonara was so accomodating. We were allowed to check-in early which is not so easy for them to do since they are off-site due to the location. But Eleonara was available at all times by phone for whatever needs we had. She showed us to our room and gave an explanation of this unique hotel, every room is different and unique. The terrace on the second floor is open to all guests. We loved the view and relaxing there after a long day of sightseeing. The breakfast was delicious and very extensive. The cappuccinos are freshly made at your request. Our room was very clean with a large modern bathroom. We definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again if we return to Matera.

The room was beautiful and clean and decorated tastefully. Breakfast was very good. And the hotel was central to everything. Parking is nearby. Highly recommend to stay here.

I loved Matera. This hotel is more of an air b&b. There is only reception when you call in advance for someone to meet you. It is located in the city centre and hence there is no way to get your luggage to the front door without navigating a lot of stone stairs. Also, it was a heatwave while I was there. The "a/c" in both rooms my group reserved barely blew out any air at all. This made it difficult to sleep. And since there is no staff on site most of the time, there was no one to complain to. It's a charming spot, but be advised, if you have any issues like this late in the evening, you're on your own.

Arrivati a Matera attorno all'ora di pranzo e seduti a mangiare qualcosa, la Sig.ra, gentilissima, era in struttura e quindi abbiamo approfittato per il check in senza attendere le 16. Posto bellissimo e vista dalla nostra stanza eccezionale. Colazione molto buona servita in camera. Posteggio (il più vicino) non certo economico, da valutare per soggiorni lunghi.

The property was an old palazzo which was lovely with views over the ancient city site. The service was wonderful and very helpful. Had a nice breakfast as well.

Ein Traum!
Diese Unterkunft ist zwar nicht ganz günstig, aber das Ambiente und der Service samt traumhaften Frühstück waren einzigartig. Ein Besuch in Matera in dieser Unterkunft lohnt sich definitiv!

Nice hotel in the centre. Paid parking Euro 12/day is available nearby. The fitout is relatively new. Bathrooms are larger than most in Italian Hotels of this standard.Some rooms have a spectacular view out over the rooftops of the old town to the sassi caves.

Matera is amazing
The town of Matera and the Sassi are amazing! Casa Diva is perfectly located to enjoy the town and the historical area. The hotel is clean and a great breakfast, and breakfast area with amazing views. The only challenge we had was actually finding the hotel and parking, which is an issue around Italy in general.

Charming central hotel in Matera
Great location in between the 2 sassis. Easy to get to if you are driving. Less than 10 minutes walk from public parking. There are stairs everywhere in the sassis in Matera so finding a hotel that does not require dragging your suitcases up and down many steps is a key consideration in Matera. Casa Diva is such a location. There are also lots of restaurants nearby. Some of the rooms are cave rooms, but they require climbing down a number of steps to get to. Our room was a semi - cave room. It has a nice modern bathroom. Some rooms have balconies, but there is a common balcony next to the breakfast room and a lovely rooftop patio to enjoy the view from. The reception, lounge and breakfast areas are nicely decorated. Breakfast is of the typical European variety, consisting of cold meats, cheese, yogurt, fruits and pastries. Matera can be extremely hot in the summer and it was not evident that there was an air-conditioner in our room. At least not one with temperature control. We were there in October so we didn't need air-conditioning. All in all, Casa Diva is a great place to stay if only for its location.
