Butterfly Cove/5 minutes to Beaches and Redwoods

Welcome to Butterfly Cove! Our family loves living in one of the most amazing stretches of the beautiful North Coast. It’s a wonderful opportunity to be able to share our space and our private large backyard with visitors. You will love exploring the areas beautiful beaches ,redwood trails, fishing, and shopping throughout the year. Our home is 1,300 sf and is centrally located in McKinleyville. We are located on a quite cut-de-sac. We offer a large well stocked kitchen and a 3 bedroom 2 bath home. All bedrooms have queen size beds. Washer and drying is available for your convenience.
After all, our home is your home tonight! So let us be the first to say, welcome home!

Dogs are welcome with extra fee of $125 (per dog) and prior approval. Please email before booking our home if you are traveling with pets. LIMIT is 2 dogs.

Butterfly cove is a beautiful home and the nicest VRBO we’ve stayed in yet. The home felt like a home away from home. The home was very clean, fully stocked, very comfortable beds, pillows and couches. The yard was big and perfect for our small dog. We would love to stay here again. Thank you for providing special touches throughout the home to make it feel so comfortable.

Yes!

We (me, wife, our 2 young boys and their grandma) absolutely loved our stay here. It is clean, spacious, and comfortable. It is in a nice, quiet neighborhood, and there are multiple grocery stores and restaurants within walking distance. There are many amazing hikes and beautiful beaches just a short drive away.

Was more than we expected. Very beautiful home. Shenell was great host helped us with what wver we needed. The location was great. Close to ocean and rewoods. Riding bikes right in the middle. I would highly recommend this place. Nice peaceful quiet. Thanks for everything. Enjoyed our time there

Weekend away

The property was in a non-descript neighborhood off the main drag of Mckinleyville. Easy to get to places. The house was clean, provided for basic necessities. A few games or books would have been a nice touch.

Neat place with a nice yard

This place is neat. Big back yard for the kids, a nice layout and in a nice neighborhood. It’s off the main drag but tucked away so not a lot of traffic. We would return for sure. The decorations inside are nice as well.

The house was not completely cleaned upon arrival

Review goes to the housekeeper she charged extra for the trash left outside basically she said how can people eat too much because we accumulated too much trash, had a small dinner for my daughter’s graduation of coarse there was more trash, no extra trash bags in the house, crumbs on the floor upon arrival we had to clean the floors we had a baby with us, toilet in main room with a nasty black rim inside toilet. A very nice place overall, my daughter brought her dog which I forgot to let the owner know,taken full responsibility, house was cleaned before we left, something or someone had gone through the trash can made a bit of a mess, we have no control of what happened after our departure. Needless to say a bit dissatisfied please check the house before entering make sure is properly cleaned.

Couldn't be more comfortable and convenient. Well-equipped and well-provisioned, just as described. Loved the mattress and seating, and enjoyed the outdoor space. A grill would have been nice. But we needed the laundry capability more.

Trip to the Redwoods

This home is a great base for seeing the Redwoods, Avenue of Giants to the south, Trees of Mystery to the north! The house is just how described, very comfortable and it had everything we needed. The large yard is beautiful and a huge plus. It is also close to shopping and fast-food options. The hosts thought of everything. I would certainly recommend this home.

Cute, clean, and comfy

It feels like visiting family if you have family you like. :) The decor is cute/homey and a bit eclectic. The place is super clean. And the whole place is STOCKED with all you could need... except beach towels so bring your own. We were very comfortable. Communication with the host before our trip was so friendly and helpful. Truly a great place and a great host!

Relaxing home away from home

We used this lovely home as a "home base" while we were visiting the Redwoods. It was perfect for our family stay. The back yard was wonderful, we wish we had more time to just relax there as it was very inviting
