Oberschledorn is located in the Sauerland region, about 400 meters above sea level, surrounded by seemingly endless forests, valleys, and meadows. Whether you’d like to go skiing in the winter, take a walk in the snow, or explore the beautiful countryside on foot or by bike in the summer—or simply spend time by the lake—you’re sure to find something to your liking here. Right on your doorstep is the Upländer Pilgrimage Trail, also known as the “Besinnungsweg” (Contemplation Trail), which is also a well-maintained hiking trail from Oberschledorn to Willingen.
Discover one of Oberschledorn’s most beautiful sides. It’s just a few minutes’ drive to the Graf Stolberg Hut at the source of the Diemel, a nature reserve—the high heathland with picturesque views. It’s no wonder this area is often called the “Tuscany of the Sauerland.”
In the immediate vicinity, you’ll find a variety of activities, such as: over 600 km of hiking trails, over 140 km of bike paths, paragliding in Willingen, surfing on Lake Diemel, water skiing on Lake Hillestausee near Niedersfeld, summer tobogganing in Willingen and Bruchhausen, Fort Fun Adventure Park, the Willingen Lagoon Pool, the Willingen Ice Rink, golf, mountain biking in Winterberg or Willingen, canoeing on the Eder, downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, and more.
In winter, you can reach the ski slopes near Willingen (Upland) or Winterberg in about 15 minutes by car.
