“My stay at Farmstead Inn was cut short by a storm. We had no electricity after 11:00 pm the first night. The next day the management said they could do nothing about canceling our room for the next night nor could they adjust price for all the inconvenience of having to find another hotel. Absolutely no accommodations, communication, or apologies were made by the property. There was NO plan for an emergency situation, no emergency power lights. They blamed Expedia in one of their conversations....

“When I came into the town of Shipshewana at 3ish I noticed that the traffic signals was not working and found out before checking in that there was no electricity in the entire town because of a storm overnight. So I went ahead and put my luggage in the room and continued on to my destination in town that had a generator running. I came back to the hotel at 8pm and found out that it still didn't have power. “Overall was typical run down and basic. No breakfast or anything to eat in the am. However it was near a Applebees. ”

“When I booked the room on Expedia, it said the room had a balcony. When we checked in our room did not. Went to the front desk and she said only the rooms in the atrium had balconies and she did not have any available. She said we booked a standard room and they don’t come with balconies. On Expedia website it says standard room with balcony. We did not get what we booked online and was very disappointed. ”

“When we stayed here, they lost power from 11 o’clock on a Thursday night and they did not get power until 630 Saturday morning. We booked this hotel partly because it had a continental breakfast. They offered nothing for the inconvenience. When asked if we could get some sort of discount, they kept saying it was an act of God. , they kept saying it was an act of God due to the weather. Dilapidated building, car got scratched up while there, knocking and loud music until around 4AM.
