Wonderful Time!
The cabin was great! Upon arrival, one will find everything to be in pretty clean condition and we were provided with generous amounts of amenities, including a washer and dryer. The only couple of minor complaints that we had, one of which we do NOT blame the owners of the property (since they have no control over it), is the poor signal and the slightly misleading WiFi information (specifically the name and password). However, we contacted one of the owners through Vrbo, and she was very kind and caring about assisting us over the WiFi issue (thank you, Melissa!). Overall, it was a very solid experience and one that we will consider doing again soon next Winter (or even before that)! We are originally coming from the south Florida region, and we enjoyed every bit of the time spent here in Mentone, AL. Thank you so much for everything! Do not hesitate renting this property, guys. You will not regret it!

TimeOut was terrific
We stayed for 2 nights at TimeOut cabin. It was a beautiful stay and stocked with everything we needed. It was on a beautiful property that we enjoyed so much. It was very quiet and peaceful and a bonus pet friendly. Our pups loved it. The decor was cozy and we loved all the things to look at on the walls and around the rooms. Thank you for a much needed time out!

Mentone Fall Trip
This property was perfect for a Fall getaway with the family and dogs. We felt like we actually went on a vacation not far from home. The lake, the downtown shops and restaurants and the changing leaves made it even better. We highly recommend this place.

Very impressed with the cabin and tree house cabin! It is stocked with everything you may need and more. Property is beautiful and well maintained! We really enjoyed the lake and boat for fishing and sitting around the fire pit! Great place to stay and the owners are very accommodating!

We had such a great time at the Time Out cabin, and our kids enjoyed staying in the Treehouse. There were so many options of things to do right there with the lake and all of the games in the cabin. Everything we would have needed was already taken care of! Highly recommend!

Cute and cozy but separate cabins
The property is great! It’s in a nice neighborhood on a small lake with a dock. The only surprise for us was that the second bedroom is actually in a separate cabin. It is very close but not connected. As long as you are comfortable with your kids staying in a separate building, it is fine.

Peace on Earth
I cannot review this property high enough! The host, the property, the serenity was much needed. Myself along with my mom and 2 daughters spent mothers day weekend at Time out. Melissa has added such a personal and thoughtful touch in every corner. I have stayed in many properties and this one by far is the most well stocked, comfortable relaxing place we could have chosen. Absolute perfection!

Family “Time Out”
We had the best family getaway at our “Timeout Cabin”! The cabin was perfect! Our kids had plenty of room to run around outside while we relaxed. We were able to enjoy the fire pit, sit on the porch, and fish from the pier. We never caught any fish, but had the best time trying! This cabin was close enough to drive to Desoto Falls to hike and view the waterfall. The pizza and BBQ baked potatoes were delicious at Mentone Market. The owner was also quick to respond to all of my questions! We definitely plan to be going again!!

The Ceiling fan in the Tree House needed a good cleaning. The ac/heating unit made weird sounds.
Time Out was a place for our souls to be restored. We are people who love the outdoors. So it was right up our alley.

Cozy Retreat close to the all the scenic sites of the mountain
Time Out was exactly what we needed, a time out. Our son has a terminal illness, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. The cabin had a ramp for our son was able to navigate, low shower sill that is was able to get into and wide area for a wheelchair. The tree house was a great escape for our 18 yr old daughter who helps out so much and is a graduating senior. We brought all our food, plenty of all sorts of dishes, to cook, even bake, and a grill for outside barbecue. This was our first time doing something like this and we were so grateful for doing this. This property is close to all the things to do in the area and some areas less known.. Or traveled lol. Hopefully they can have a firmer grade walkway to the ramp, but we will be coming again! Ty for the stay!

I got a fever…and the only cure is more cabin
Amazing property. I literally said “Wow” when I walked in. I must have said it several times. The pictures don’t do this place justice. They certainly don’t capture that classic cabin smell. This place feels like home. One word of caution: if you need high speed internet for work or streaming, this is not the one. But if you’re coming here for the same purpose I came, you don’t need it. Absolutely recommend!

Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, Mentone still does not have fiber in all locations. However, in January 2024, we will have fiber installed in our area and will have capacity of high speed internet to be able to do work and stream. We do hope every guest will still take time to unplug like you have.

Great property and friendly service
The property was even better than described online. The unit was easily accessible, clean, had everything we needed, and was a very short walk from the beach. The pool area was nice, peaceful, and relaxing. The property owner was very hospitable. He gave us a great run down of the island, things to do, places to see, and provided information on the locals, the culture, the beaches, restaurants, and a wealth of knowledge on the area. He even showed us around. We would definitely stay here again. We couldn’t say enough positive things about the property or the owner!

We were very pleased with this property and were only in the area for a night and wanted to find a place away from everything. This place is perfect for that and we look forward to staying there again in the future. Lovely place
Although we were there for a sad reason-a funeral-our 3 adult daughters and we enjoyed spending the night all together in the waterfront cabin. The only downside was the rules for departure even though we paid a steep cleaning fee for our one night stay. We didn't even use the lovely fireplace because we were expected to clean it out.

Our Time Out
We enjoyed our time at “Time Out” cabin. The cabin was clean and comfortable. If you forget something you don’t have to worry cause they have you covered. Fishing in the pond was fun and relaxing even with a little competition seeing who would be the first to snag a fish. We enjoyed the fire pit roasting marshmallows and hot dogs.

Mom’s 80 Birthday
5 star property, no regrets, lacked nothing Calm, relaxed neighborhood. Quiet and by the grace of GOD, our family from Mississippi rented from vrbo and got the adjoining property that sleeps 16 so we had adjoining yards and lake frontage so our stay was absolutely BLESSED. Looking forward to staying again.

Great weekend!
Beautiful lot and lake. Lake is small but we still had fun fishing and kayaking. Cabin was as described and adorable. Kitchen is small but had everything we needed. If you have teenagers the second cabin ( the treehouse) is wonderful. Gives them their own space away from the main cabin. Although it is very small, its still a nice addition! The best part is the back porch! Plenty of seating to sit and enjoy the scenery ! Owners were easy to work with and quick to respond when we had a problem. I would recommend this property and will be back again with family!

Best Timeout ever.
We had the best vacation/ 56th bday trip. We spent time together as a family fishing seeing waterfalls, eating at great places and shopping. The cabin was absolutely wonderful, clean nice area, comfy beds. We will definitely be back.

A MUST FOR US EVERY YEAR!
This is the perfect retreat for some girl time. We sit by the lake and read and talk. If we want to go into town we do, and this time we stayed in our jammies the whole time, relaxed and forgot about technology and life. I cannot imagine not going back again next year.
