Charming Michigan City Cottage

  • Enjoy a getaway steps from Lake Michigan's Sheridan Beach in this cozy cottage that is great for quiet comfort, family fun, a romantic getaway, or a weekend with close friends. There are many activities nearby including Washington Park Marina/Park/Zoo, Sheridan Beach, Blue Chip Casino, Lighthouse Premium Place Outlets, and downtown Michigan City restaurants, all a short walk or bike ride away. The area also has several wineries and breweries. Additionally, for those wanting to enjoy concerts, sporting events or a day trip exploring Chicago, the South Shore Line now offers a 67-minute train to Chicago from 11th Street in Michigan City, which is approximately two miles from the cottage.

    The beach is just a five minute walk from the front door. We provide a beach wagon, two beach chairs, an umbrella, beach towels, a cooler, a few ice packs, and some sand toys for your enjoyment.

    The serene back patio is surrounded by trees and is great for relaxing in the evenings. A grill is provided but please clean this after use.

    The charming house features 1 queen bed in the primary on the main floor and two double beds in the upstairs loft. There is one full bathroom with a shower. A hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner and lotion are provided for your convenience. The home has a television with a Roku for you to log in to watch your streaming services. We also have WiFi and a small selection of books to borrow for your next good read.

Rooms were clean. Had bad weather (obviously not their fault), but it was a little smaller than I had pictured at least, and it would be nice to have a washer and dryer for towels and things. But overall the stay was good. The people were nice with thorough detailed instructions. And I appreciated how clean the unit was when we checked in.

This property was perfect for our girls weekend! The house was one of the cleanest I've stayed in and was very cutely decorated. The beach was super close and there were places to eat within walking distance. The host was amazing! There was a minor issue with the code lock to let us in the house and she was able to get us into the house within minutes!! She was very prompt and accommodating. Will definitely stay again next time we are in Michigan City!

We had an absolutely wonderful week at this cozy cottage! Everything was exactly as described in the listing, and the property was exceptionally clean and thoughtfully equipped with everything we could have asked for. The hosts truly thought of everything. The upstairs bedroom had two oscillating fans and remote-controlled shades for the skylights, and the beds were very comfortable with a variety of pillows to choose from. They even offered to change out our towels midweek if needed, although there were more than enough bath and beach towels for the entire week. Beach amenities were available including two beach chairs, a beach umbrella, a wagon, and a cooler with ice packs conveniently waiting in the freezer. The cottage is just a couple of blocks from easy beach access, which made trips to the beach a breeze. The shared common area with the adjacent cottage was a lovely spot to enjoy our morning coffee and take in the early morning sunshine. Communication with the hosts was pleasant and prompt, and check-in was effortless. We truly enjoyed our stay and would happily return. Highly recommend this pet friendly cottage for a relaxing beach getaway!

Perfect little bungalow

This adorable little bungalow is so close to the beach, it felt like we were in Hawaii without the prices. Wonderful location and adorable cottage everything we needed for the beach and we even enjoyed some local restaurants.

Wonderful Stay!

We had a wonderful stay. The home was clean and comfy! Perfect location for walking to the beach. Communication with the manager was great, answered every question, helped with anything we needed! Highly recommend, will definitely book again in the future.

Small Little Cottage

We enjoyed our stay so much! This cottage is so close to the beach and restaurants. We enjoyed the patio area and fire pit in the evening. The host was so accessible and answered questions quickly! Would definitely stay again!

Lovely lake cottage

This is our third summer staying at this cottage and it is always clean and well maintained. The location is great being just a few blocks from the lake, close to the zoo and close to restaurants. The neighborhood is quiet and very family friendly. This is a great spot for a family.
